I follow some awesome blogs, lots of DIY-ers. So naturally I get thinking that I could so similar things, no problem. Nevermind that I don't know how to do all the steps, I'll figure it out as I go... (#1 DIY-er mistake, not enough research=wasted money). So for starters, approx. 1 1/2 months ago, I decided the concrete pad in the backyard that spans the width of our house needed to be removed and replaced, and that while we were at it, we would dig a trampoline pit. Now incase you weren't aware, it has rained at least once every 3 days since then. That means the dense clay that is our backyard, has been unable to dry out...and THAT means my backyard has a humongous hole, piles of clay dirt/mud, pile of broken concrete and a basic disaster. I only hope the weather gives us a break very quickly so we can tackle that disaster.
As if the entire backyard being re-done wasn't enough, I got the idea that I could decorate Hannah's room, a little paint, a little molding, no biggie.
BIGGIE.
The compound saw I bought doesn't cut the chunky molding I bought. The nail gun I bought doesn't hold large enough nails to hold in said chunky molding, and doesn't push the small nails far enough, requiring a hammer to follow the gun. My lack of mathematical skills meant lots of cuts to get it right, which means not enough chunky molding. (We'll not go into detail about the multiple spills of lilac and white paint on the brown carpet...) While mid-project Maddax has a complete breakdown which ends up being a 4 hour non-stop crying stint from midnight to about 3am. Ugh. So between a whiny child today and my lack of know-how, I am only halfway done with my project. (This was only project #1 of 5 to be done this weekend....nobody can blame me for not being ambitious I guess.)
Hopefully I can add a final picture sooner than later. I will not be adding backyard pictures because I choose not to remember how it currently looks. (As if I could be so lucky to forget!)
