Thankful Thursday

I can't help but look around and feel so blessed. With so much going on in the world, I am so grateful to have clean air, clean water, indoor plumbing, a quality built home, vehicles that are reliable and most of all, my family.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day as if we are wearing blinders. Sometimes those blinders only look at the bad parts of my life and the best parts of others, and the world seems un-fair. It takes a lot of recognition to realize that comparison isn't really true. Comparing only hurts the one doing the comparing and benefits nobody.

This may sound silly, but we've been generally aweful when it comes to scripture study, I mean like really bad. But, in the last two weeks, I've made a point to read the illustrated Book of Mormon with the kids every single night. Sometimes it's one chapter, sometimes three. (Depends on how tired I am and their attention span.) But that small 10 minutes every night has made a world of difference for me. I am more compassionate. I think more of others. I reflect more on the spiritual of not just my own salvation, but on the spiritual needs of others. I can't quite describe the small change that has taken place, but it's been enough to lift the "fog" that had me down. I am ambitious about making positive changes in my parenting, my role as a wife, a neighbor, a friend.

*And by the way, Ammon cutting off people's arms and dragging them back to King Lamoni...how crazy would that be in today's society?

Catch up for the lame blogger I am

This kid loves being outside...he BEGS to go to the park every stinking day!

Not sure why boxes make the best toys...but hey, cheap entertainment, I'm not complaining.

I turned 27 and got an ice cream cake...so yum!

Maddax L.O.V.E.D. little Noel...but, we had to wish her the best as we found her a new family who adored her and planned to make her an inside dog where she will likely be pampered and loved more than we could ever give her.

Spring break...we headed to Thanksgiving Point and discovered the gardens (above) and the Dinosaur Museum (below). We are loving that place and looking forward to spending the summer between the various attractions there.

Right before saying good-bye to Noel...she wouldn't stop climbing on them and they were so frustrated.
