Eddie Coker!

One of our favorite children's singers is Eddie Coker.  I know I have posted about him before, if we find out he's performing near us we do our best to go see him.  I called my friend Joanne to come with us.  We both heard about Eddie Coker when he came to the elementary school I used to teach at with Joanne and we both have loved him ever since.

There was lots of dancing and singing along - it was so much fun!

He kept coming into the audience, participating along with everyone else - it was so neat!

I love Jane's face when she sees what Eddie has on - hysterical!
Joanne's youngest daughter, Jena, LOVED it!  She was dancing along - she was having a blast!
During one of his songs he came by and took a picture with Elizabeth, he also kissed Jane on her head but I didn't get a picture of that.
On the floor for more dancing...
and a parade around the room to top it all off.  His shows are never boring - that's for sure!

Elizabeth's Last Day of First Grade

Elizabeth's last day of school.  I can't get over the fact that she is done with first grade and moving on to second grade!  She just seems like such a big kid now!

Here is Elizabeth on her first day of first grade.  I see a big change in her!

I wanted to make Elizabeth's teacher something for her end of the year present - one of my neighbors saw something like this on pinterest so I decided to do the same thing.  These are the rules that were on Elizabeth's teacher's wall - I just took them and put them on a canvas.  She is very into Disney so I added some characters to the top and bottom.
When the kids got home from the last day of school they came home to a sign to run through...

and a party with some friends from school!

Whoo hoo for summer break!

Elizabeth's End of the Year Party

At the end of the year Elizabeth had an awards ceremony and a "fun" day.  The kids got to just have fun outside with water balloons and games.  They had a blast!
Elizabeth with her wonderful first grade teacher.
Elizabeth with some of her friends from class.

The kids also both had swimming lessons with our same teacher as in years past.

This is the first year Ben has wanted to go off the diving board at swim lessons!  We had a successful 2 weeks of lessons- they didn't learn as much this time- but I think that's because all they want to do is swim underwater and not practice their strokes!  We'll have to work on that this summer.

Brownies

For the past two years Elizabeth has been a Daisy girl scout.  At the end of the school year the girls got to make an important step - they became brownies!  The girls had a bridging ceremony at one of the Daisy's houses.
After the girls cross the bridge they transition from being a Daisy to a Brownie.

 All of our brownies!
(darn - her eyes are closed!) Now Elizabeth is a full fledged brownie!
Afterwards (or I'm thinking it's the next night) I can't even remember what we were doing but all of the sudden all of the kids were swimming in their clothes!

Baby Blakely was there - Tom's brother's daughter.  She's so adorable!
It's definitely nice having a pool in TX during the summer!

Ben's Graduation!

Ben had his preschool graduation at the end of May - I'm not doing too well on keeping up with blogging this summer!
They had water day the last day of school.  It was a fun way to end the year.

There was bubble blowing and all sorts of other activities.

That evening was Ben's graduation!  Jessica came with Cooper, along with Grandma and Grandpa H and Grandma B.  Grandpa B was out of town with work.
There Ben is, walking in.  His little nervous face is so cute!

After they all walked in the prek kids performed a few graduation songs.  It was very cute.

Ben's walking up to receive his diploma - again with his cute nervous face!

Whew - relief!  He's finished and much happier! :)

 Graduated!
Ben's fans! (for some reason I'm having a difficult time getting the words centered under the pictures so excuse that please!)

 Elizabeth and Ben's PK teacher.
One of the parents makes a personalized cupcake for each student - they did this for Elizabeth, too!
Ben got a bag with all sorts of things inside-  a scrapbook, books he has made, photos, etc..  It was so fun to read through everything!
After graduation we came home to have a cookie cake - Ben's request!  I can't believe that Ben is on his way to Kindergarten!!
