Here are some pictures of Trevor, this is the first year that he has ever gotten to play football and he is LOVING it!

This is one of my favorites so far he is so stinking cute, I would never tell him that he would just die! =)

Back to School

Well Trevor starts back to school tomorrow...well actually I guess today. But anyhow, it is so hard to believe that my baby boy is in the 5th grade...how on earth did that happen??? I just don't get it. He is a bit excited and nervous about starting a new school and all. Aw...you know that song by Rascal Flatts, about my wish for you? Well I have always said that this was my song to my boys. It Just came on the radio...I love this song! So, anyhow, I think that Trevor is really going to like his new school, even though he so got ripped out of his summer. They didn't get out until June 5th in Texas and then he starts August 13th here...bummer. Oh, well. His school is really cool they are the Ravenwood Tigers...sounds cool, huh? He is also starting football and loves it! They got their pads and helmets the other night and the coach was trying to get his helmet on him and tightened up and all and he said "is your head crooked?" LOL! His pads were actually to big and he doesn't have a very long neck so it was pushing up on his helmet making it crooked. It was very funny though. I have to tell you, he looks so stinking cute in his football getup...I would never tell him that thought, he would just die! I will try to get some pictures on here, I am getting to tired now so I think that I am going to go on to bed. Good night or morning to you all! =)

I'm Back...I think

Ok, so it has been brought to my attention that I haven't been on here for like forever. Sorry, you know when you are moving and then you are trying to get settled and then life starts really happening to you like 90 miles an hour? Well that has been it here lately. Between trying to get settled and you know things like, enrolling in school, starting football, going to football camp, talking to reservists about AIT dates (in person), going to the lake for the weekend, having company come visit, transmission going out of your 18 year old sons truck on is way to go help put up hay, having your purse stolen out of your car, having to file a police report for the stolen purse, having to get the transmission fixed in the teenage sons truck ($3397.64 later), having to make two trips to the revenue office to tag the truck in Kansas, finding a new church home, getting the windshield replaced in the car after a rock hit it when a friend was borrowing it, going to Arkansas for a funeral of a friend that passed away way to soon, going to the ER for your sister that took her sons meds by mistake and had a horrible reaction, going to the ER cuz your 15 year old niece is having chest pains while playing softball, then there is the unpacking the rearranging and just life in general. Well that pretty well sums up what I have been doing since we moved to Kansas. I am really hoping and praying that things will slow down once school starts. I will try to keep in touch a bit better from now on. Miss you all!!!

update

Ok, we made it last Saturday to Kansas...finally!!!! The last week that we were in Texas I really thought I would have more time to see everyone and say goodbye. I am sorry that I didn't. Things were just insanely busy!! Trying to finish packing then all of the loading the uhaul and then came the cleaning too!!! Yikes!!! I tell you what, if it hadn't been for Travis, mom and Tina...I would still be there trying to finish things up. Even two of Travis' friends John and Joe and his girlfriend Steph were HUGE helps!! Thank you all for all of your help!!!

So, anyway, we got to Kansas Saturday and then we unloaded the trailer and have been trying to get settled in all week. Tuesday I got a message from a friend that another friend had passed away suddenly and so we are now in Arkansas. The funeral is tomorrow with the visitation tonight. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Webber family.

On the 6th we will then head back down to Texas for an Ortho appointment. We will be there for a few days. Hope to see some of you all then. See ya soon! Love ya all!!!

Sleep???

Ok, picture it....Fort Hood, TX 1:56 AM...yes AM...there are two flies that have been driving me insane keeping me awake. Well they messed with the wrong chick tonight!

I got 'em!

Mind you not until after spending and hour and a half chasing them around the room with the fly swatter. I would turn the light off and lay back down and then not 30 seconds later they would buzz again. So I would flip the lamp back on and go hunting for them again. It was driving the cat nuts!! She couldn't get them either....plus not to mention that I woke her up with the light flipping on and off. She was sleeping so peacefully...wish that I was!

Anyhow, I did finally get them so I am going to try to get some sleep with whatever is left of this time before the alarm goes off. Sweet dreams to all!!!

Update....sorta

ok, well I am sorry that I haven't been on here for like, forever and five thousand years. Things have been so very busy with James deploying and such. He has officially been gone for 27 days now. That is almost a month...that means only 11 more to go! (Trying to look at it as positive as possible.) So, Trevor and I have been reading Psalms 91:1-16 every night since he has been gone. The Psalm is very near to us, for it talks about Gods protection for us and we read it in prayer that He will keep daddy safe. You should read it if you haven't yet, and even if you have reread it, I think that we all could use a reminder of Gods love and protection.

We also have had our 19th anniversary since he has been gone. I can't believe that we have been married for 19 years now, it seems like only yesterday that we were those young kids standing there saying our vows, pledging our love forever. How time flies! I can honestly say that I love him so much more than I did that day, I never imagined that I could love anyone more than I did back then, but I really do. He is truly my love, my heart and soul, my hero and my best friend. There were so many that never thought that we would make it past our first anniversary cuz we were so young, I guess that we sure showed them! I love you Honey Pookus! =)

So, anyhow...now that I have rambled on, I will close for now. I have tons of pictures to share, I will do that later.

YUCKA!!!

Well we have most diefinately been plagued with the Yucka's here for the past few days. It all started Sunday evening I went to bed and wasn't feeling so hot. About 4:30am Trevor comes into our room and asks if he can lay with us, his tummy hurts and our bed is closer to the bathroom. Great I thought, my stomach his woozie and now him too. Then about 15 minutes later he starts hurling!! Poor kid, so I get up get him a wet wash cloth and clean everything up and get him back in bed, the about 5 minutes later he is up for round two. By now my stomach is killing me, I am really trying to be strong and rub his back and give him a fresh wash cloth. I get him back to bed and then I start running for the bathroom. Thank you God, that we have two toilets....at this point Trevor is in one and I am in the other, I had to get James up at this point. With in about 30 minutes it was coming from both ends, wow, it was horrible! By 8:30am Trevor had thrown up atleast 10 times and that was it, we went to the hospital. They gave us both some Zofran and that seemed to help some, however we both continued to after getting home and taking the meds, it slowly had tapered off by evening. Then the fever set in, 101.7, 102.3....lovely!! Yesterday was much better, no more throwing up and all, just feeling yucka! Trevor's fever broke and he hasn't run one all day. Unfortunately mine is still up and down. So, today Trevor is back at school and I am trying to get some laundry done, slow process let me tell you! My body feels like one gianormous bruise! All I can say about all of this is YUCKA!!!!!

Check this out

Hey all, I got a website from my sister, a lady that she knows through work gave it to her. I checked it out, it is not up and running full force yet, however, it sounds like an awesome program. The address is www.supporttheheroes.org Thank the Lord that none of us need this right now, however someday we may know of someone that just might. I will continue to pray for your loved ones until their safe return back home to all of you. Please pass on the info as you feel led to. Thanks!

Question

Ok, I have a question. There is a book that I loaned out "While They're at War" a while back. I was wondering if any of you happen to know who might have it now? I would really like to get it back, I love that book, I am in need of reading it again. If you know of its whereabouts please contact me at 870-.......haha, that sounded like one of those tv things where they are looking for missing people or criminals. Anyhow, for real, I would like to get it back. Thanks! :)

Ticket

Picture this, riding on the back of a motorcycle with your honey leaving his office, you see a car pulled off to the side of the road and start to say to yourself, cuz honestly you are on the back of a Harley no one else can hear you, "that looks like my...Travis" He was in my car, so as where the car looked like mine, so did the kid. Low and behold, right behind him were pretty flashing lights. Joy! I thought at first oh he must have a tail light out or something. He never speeds, like especially since Basic, there are times that I am like "Travis it is 45 not 37, would you go already?" Well, I guess that he was just thinking that he was hanging with the car up in front of him so he was ok, well that car hit its breaks and then Travis got the flash. Lucky him! So, how would that be to get your first ticket with your little brother, in your moms car, and then to have your mom and dad ride by on a motorcycle? Nice! Poor thing, I have to say that I am very proud of him in he has already forked over his car money, what was left of it, to pay his $125.00 ticket. The kid is dead broke now, so if any of you have any odd jobs that you need done, I am pretty sure that he is for hire. ;)

Good to be Home!

We finally made it home! We tried to leave Friday evening and we got almost to Belton and James said "I can't do this" I looked in the mirror and he was not looking so good. His foot was so swollen and he was really hurting, so we turned around and headed back. I had to call family and tell them that we weren't coming home for Christmas this year and that was awful! I have to say that God has really blessed us in the fact that we have been in the Army for over 15 years and we have not missed one single Christmas home with our family. Well He obviously still planned on us going this year also, just not on our time frame, on His instead. After a trip to the ER and the re wrapping of James foot and new meds we got up and left out at 0618 (6:18 am) Saturday morning and arrived at Mom and Howie's at 1643 (4:43 pm). And...Oh my goodness, it is so stinking cold here!!! Like the high today was 12 or something insane like that! The temperature right now is -1!!!! Crazy!!! So, anyhow, we spent the day baking and were like hermits today, Mom, James and I never even got out of our jammas.

My Honey's foot

My Honey Pookus had surgery on his foot today, well I guess technically yesterday now. His poor foot is looking kinda rough. They went in and did a "Excision Neuroma 3rd interspace"....whatever! They fixed the bone in his 2nd toe and the tendon at his 3rd toe. Jumping down off of Humvees can be rough on old guys. He will be on crutches for a while and can't put pressure on it either. Needless to say, crutches weren't "just a friendly suggestion" this time. He has this nifty looking little blue shoe thing that is very cushy for if he does put pressure on it. Poor baby this is not going to be a very fun Christmas vacation for him. His poor toes are going to be awfully cold in Kansas, I am going to go get him some big warm socks today to put over it. Right now he is not feeling so well, I don't know if it is the pain or the Percocet or maybe a mixture of the two. (which is why we are up at this hour) Poor Honey Pookus!

Drain Cleaner Bladder?????

Drain Cleaner Bladder.....ok, what the heck is that?? It is this rubber tube type thing that you hook onto the end of a garden hose and then you stick it into your pipe like where the water from your washing machine drains, you turn the water on and inflate it and it is supposed to clear out the drain, unless however it makes it spew up into the utility sink next to the washer. We have had a huge mess in our laundry room today and of course, it always happens when James is gone, he had just left like 45 minutes before to head to Houston to see one of his soldiers that had been in an accident a couple of weeks ago one last time before Christmas. Travis and Trevor were out Christmas shopping and I was trying to get laundry caught up to get our stuff packed to go home Saturday. What a mess, well after the bladder thing exploded, literally, it finally unglogged the drain. PTL!!! On a positive note, I did get the floor cleaned under the washer and the dryer...they are pretty now! :)

Trevor Surgery

Ok, this time it was Trevor that had surgery, his was very minor compared to what Travis had. He had to have the tube taken out of his right ear. He had tubes put in when he was six, tonsils and adnoids removed at the same time. So, he lost one of the tubes sometime or another, we don't know for sure when, we never found it. The doctor said that we could have new ones put in, or we could just remove this one and patch it and see how he does from here on out. We do still have the option to put them back in if need be. So, last Friday he was supposed to have surgery and then after we got there at 0600 they came in and told us at like 0635 that the doctor had an emergency and had to cancel all of his surgeries for the day. Come to find out he tripped and hit his eye on the cedar chest and his eye was swollen shut. He looked like someone beat the snot out of him, and this was 5 days later. Yikes! So, my little man went in yesterday at 0600 and he finally really had surgery. They went in and took the tube out freshened up the edges of the hole and then put a patch over the hole. He did great with it, they knocked him out but didn't even have to start an iv. Cool! He did however on the way home get sick, he was fine the rest of the day, still is. :) He goes back to school tomorrow.

Our baby is 18

I can't believe that our baby boy turned 18 on Sunday. It sure doesn't seem like 18 years ago that we were holding that little 6lbs 5 oz 19 and 1/2 inches long baby in our arms. He was so tiny and now look at him, he is much taller than I am now. I just can't believe how he has grown into such a young man, I just can't bring myself to call him an adult. He is only 18! :) Anyhow, we are very proud of the young man that he is growing into, however he will always be my baby no matter how big or tall that he gets, or thinks that he is. Here are some of my favorite pictures of him. Happy Birthday Travis!
