This picture from last night made me laugh. Usually, people take messed up pictures by accidentally sticking their fingers in front of the lens. But, I accidentally stick my belly into pictures! I was trying to take a few pictures of Lily looking up at me and this is what I ended up with. Oh well, I've only got a few more weeks to go.....

My growing belly...

Pioneer Day
In Utah we celebrated Pioneer Day on July 24th to commemorate the pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley. In the morning there is a big parade up in downtown Salt Lake. Lucky for me and Lily, they broadcast it on TV! So, we got up, made waffles, and watched the parade on TV in our PJ's. My favorite part was seeing President Hinkley all dressed up like a cowboy!! It was so adorable! Lily's favorite part was the horses. Later after Todd got off work, we headed up to Aunt Ellen and Uncle Derek's house for a family BBQ. We had yummy food, played games, and lit off a few fireworks. Here's a couple pictures of musical chairs. It got a little violent a couple of times, but everyone made it out without serious injuries!
I decided that it would be best for me to stay as far away from the action as possible. Here I am scheming about ways to trick everyone!

Lavender Days, a couple of angels, and a Fairy Tea Party
I was watching TV earlier this week and heard about Lavender Days down in Mona. One of the events that they mentioned was a Fairy Tea Party that they put on for the little girls. I decided that Lily needed to go. On Friday, we set off with our neighbor to take our girls down to the tea party. Lily and our neighbor got all dressed up like little fairies. They looked absolutely adorable!! It took about an hour for us to drive down to Mona and by the time that we got there it was already over 100 degrees. But, we weren't about to let the heat stop us! We bought our tickets to the festival and went to find the Fairy Tea Party. When we found the tent we were told that we needed to tickets to attend (NOT mentioned on the web site or on any of the brochures!!!) and that all of the tickets for the day were sold out. They told us that there was a small chance that the girls could sit on the side and listen to the fairies tell a story, but they couldn't have a cookie or a drink. I was upset!! I felt terrible that we had driven all the way down there and that the girls were going to miss the party! We decided to stay and see if we could squeeze into the 3 o'clock Tea Party. To pass the time we went to check out what else there was to see. While we waited we rode ponies and looked at farm animals.
Here is Lily's little fairy outfit!! She loved wearing it all day even though it was so hot! After a little while we got really hot and decided to go back to the Fairy Tea Party tent to see if they would let us sit in the shade. We were only ten minutes early, but they told us that they weren't letting anyone in until exactly 3 o'clock and then it was people with tickets first. By this time I was really irritated with these people! I was dripping with sweat and all we wanted to do was sit down!! But, we were patient and waited out in the hot sun until 3 o'clock. Then all of the other little girls started to go into the tent. Lily and our neighbor started to ask us why we weren't going in. We were trying to explain to them that we didn't have tickets and that we might not be able to go in at all. While we were trying to explain this to the girls, a woman and her two daughters walked up to us. The woman said, "These girls are all dressed up and it's just not right that they miss the tea party. Here's our tickets, we're a little too old for this anyway." I almost started to cry!!! This woman and her daughters were angels! I tried to thank them, but they walked away pretty quickly. My neighbor and I were completely shocked at their generosity! I was so thankful for what they did for us! I don't think that they will ever know how much that little act meant to me! So, Lily got to go to the Fairy Tea Party.
Here she is dancing with one of the fairies!
The two of us hanging out before tea time!
And Lily being a little lady drinking her tea! It was a really fun little party and I am so glad that we had the opportunity to go!
Summer Outings
This summer has been ridiculously hot and I am getting larger every day now. But, I feel like I still need to take Lily to do a couple of fun activities outside the house every week. Some of our recent favorites have been trips to Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country with Lily's friends Zeke and Jackson,
trips to the Bookmobile to get fun books to read..
and going to see all of the animals at Cabela's with Daddy.
July 4th
I feel like it has been forever since my last post! So, I have a bunch of pictures to share tonight! On July 4th we started the day by having Grandma Boston over for breakfast. During the afternoon she stayed and played with Lily, while Todd and I went to see Transformers with my family. That night we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Hegerhorst's house for a BBQ and some fireworks.
We played a few games with Krista, Kellie, and Krista's friend Michelle. Meanwhile....
Lily played in the little plastic pool in her diaper. Those Huggies sure are absorbent!! And what 4th of July would be complete without a little...
Nudity!! Lily ditched her diaper and decided to have her own little "Independence Day" celebration! This is only "modest" shot I have of her little streaking act!
