The search is over...

For the past few weeks I have been scouring the internet in search of a blessing outfit for Owen. Let me tell you, it hasn't been an easy task! I assumed that it would be fairly simple to find something online rather than actually going shopping. Wrong! The more I looked, the more I realized that there is a serious lack of selection when it comes to boy's blessing/christening outfits. If I had wanted to put him in a little sailor outfit or a dress, there were plenty to choose from. But, I am kind of picky. I have this problem where I decide what I want and then I get frustrated when I can't find what I am looking for. I knew I wanted something simple. But nothing I found was simple. Everything has pleats and weird collars! I checked almost every website that came up in my Google search and narrowed it down to a few choices. Well, then I asked Todd his opinion. Those of you who know Todd will understand that this just complicated the situation. See, Todd is very picky AND very cheap. He suggested just putting Owen in a clean, white onesie and calling it good. Yeah right! After Todd shot down all of my online ideas, I decided it was time to hit the stores. There is this store in American Fork called Little Things Mean a Lot and they advertised a wide selection of blessing outfits. I was really impressed with how many different choices they had. Most of their outfits were way out of our price range. (I really can't justify spending over a hundred dollars on something he is only going to wear for an hour or two!) But, they had a section with outfits that had been marked down. We tried a few of them on Owen and found the outfit that we were looking for! I didn't like it at first, but Todd was all for it because it was the cheapest one there. Once I put it on him, it grew on me! It's simple, classy, and cheap! We ended up getting the outfit and some little shoes for $36. It seems like such a bargain considering all of my options on the internet were at least $50 plus shipping! So, if you want to see Owen in his little outfit, we are blessing him on Saturday the 29th. Everyone is invited! Give us a call if you need to know time and location! (And for those of you who can't come, there will be pictures on the blog afterwards!!)

Mr. O...

Here's some of my favorite Owen pictures from the past few days! I am having so much fun taking pictures of him because he will actually stay in one place for me!! But, even babies get tired of posing for pictures. The last picture is Owen's way of saying, "Mommy, I'm done now!".

Keeping up with Lily...

For the most part, Lily has been doing an amazing job adjusting to her new baby brother. The one thing I feel bad about is the amount of time that we spend inside. The weather is beautiful outside, but I have a tough time getting out of the house with the two of them. We try to make it to the park a couple of times a week. So, on the days that we are inside Lily has found some ways to entertain herself.
She is obsessed with doing puzzles! At first, she just liked to watch me do the puzzle for her. But now, she does it all by herself. We are going to have to buy her a few more because she is getting way too good at this one!
One of her other favorite activities is to do all of the things she sees me do to Owen with her stuffed animals and dolls. The other day I caught her changing the puppy's diaper. So cute!!
And an old favorite...reading! Lily will never get tired of this activity! I love that she tries to read them to herself now. My little girl is getting so independent!

More Owen...

Last Friday we took Owen to the doctor for his 2 week appointment. Everything went good. I have been jokingly calling him my little piggie because he wants to eat all the time. I feel a little more justified now because our "little" baby weighed in at 10 lbs! Lily didn't weigh that much until her 2 month appointment!! When we left the hospital he weighed a 8 lbs 14 oz. He gained almost a pound and a half in a week and a half!! He is in the 90th percentile for height and the 95th percentile for weight. We love our little piggie!!

100th Post!! (and some pictures of the munchkins...)

Big sister...

Lily has been doing such a great job adjusting to her new baby brother. She has totally fallen in love with him and loves to help take care of him. Sometimes she helps a little too much! I have caught her trying to feed Owen her Cheerios's, her cookies, and her bottle. Lily has also turned into Owen's personal spokeswoman. She loves to announce to me everything that Owen is feeling and everything that he needs. My favorites are, "Owen hungry...", "Owen sad..", and "Owen silly!". Today she announced that Owen wanted to go outside to play. I highly doubt he did because as soon as we set foot outside he started to cry. But, we stayed outside for a while so that Lily could play. Lily found a piece of sprinkler pipe that Todd left out. I think she was trying to use it as a telescope. She insisted that I take pictures of her and her new toy. I took a couple of pictures of her with her "telescope" and then Owen started to cry. Lily got really concerned and ran over to him to give him his binkie. I was excited that I finally got a picture of the two of them together. Owen has his eyes shut in the picture because she missed his mouth quite a few times before the binkie made it in. Hopefully soon I'll be able to get a decent picture of the two kids together. If only Lily would sit still....
