Cards for Ally - Instagram Hop

Ally Santaclara was a beloved friend of many in the papercrafting community.  Her sudden passing in December left many of us with broken hearts.  One day we were chatting online and the next... she was gone.  But not forgotten.

Her posts and messages were always popping with personality and friendship.  Her design creations reflected that warmth.  Andy, her cat (a female cat named after a tv personality, Anderson Cooper - I'm sure there's more to the story lol), often made appearances and I looked forward to those posts too.  I'm sorry that I didn't get to know her even more or meet in real life.

But this is a celebration of her life.  We've banded together to share our cards and creations in memory of Ally.   And... as Ally's FB and Instagram pages were titled "Can't Wait for Friday", we thought posting on a Friday was a fitting tribute to our sweet friend.

Ally and I shared a love of colouring, Copic Markers and furbabies 💖.  I picked an image of a girl crafting (or trying lol) with her beloved cat and coloured it up with my Copics.  I tried to give the cat a tabby look like her Andy.

So here's my card -

Thanks for stopping by!

Keep on Decorating challenge

I try to keep my cards simple when they are ones I might like to replicate and adding "Gumdrops" (YNS's enamel dots) is a great way to pump up my creations.

Here I have coloured with alcohol ink markers and used Clear & Sparkle Gumdrops coloured with the co-ordinating marker.

Stamp: Your Next Stamp, Purrr-fect Friends
Die: Your Next Stamp, Dot-tastic Circle Die
Other: Your Next Stamp, Clear & Sparkle Gumdrops; alcohol markers; Stampin' Up cardstock

Have a great day!

Inside Out Challenge at Your Next Stamp

I've used Rosie Rabbit Gift from Your Next Stamp for this simple pull slider card.

The inside was kept very quick and simple by just stamping the main image on the bottom corner of the inside and using the second sentiment stamp.

Happy New Year with a Pay it Forward Challenge

What better way to get the creative juices flowing than with a challenge/labour of love?

I "fell into" the Facebook "Pay it Forward" challenge.  No hardship... just a perfect excuse to create something for someone and maybe personalize it and send it off to brighten their day.  One of my favourite things to do.

One of my recipients is a lovely lady and "mom" to not one, but two big Great Danes (one being a young, brindle pup).  As soon as I saw the Jess and her Great Danes image by Digi Doodles Studios I knew I HAD to have it (of course I couldn't decide this during their sale lol) 'cause it would be perfect (even tho' my friends' dogs' ears are "au naturel" rather than cropped).

Coloured with my Copics.

Anniversary Card with Tiddly Inks

I needed a perfect image for my parents' anniversary coming just after Christmas so chose Tiddly Inks Garden Wedding.  Love colouring up these images and so glad I have time again in my life that I can just colour for fun.

Coloured with my trusty Copics and decorated with old, retired Christmas (shhhh, don't tell my parents 😉) paper and dies from my stash.

I'm looking forward to being able to colour up more Tiddly Inks images and glad that I'll still be able to... 1) 'cause I've got quite a few in my "arsenal" now haha  (and of course most of 'em are printed and ready to colour) and 2) much as Christy is closing her large website, she's not going anywhere.  There will still be an awesome FB group and some of the favourite images will be moved to a smaller Etsy store and will be added to from time to time.

There is one last challenge on the blog so I thought I'd enter this card.

Hope my parents like the card.
