On Friday Bunker went into the Vet to have his teeth looked at. One of his teeth was swollen and we were afraid it may have been abscessed. The Vet called after his initial checkup and it looked like all that was needed was to pull the tooth.
In the middle of the operation the Vet called and said that she had found cancer eating all the way into the nasal cavity. I asked her how bad and she said that in the 15 years she had been practicing, this was the worst she had seen. I asked what our options were and she said she could give him some pain medicine and antibiotics and he may have a month.

I asked what she thought we should do and her suggestion was to put him to sleep. It was very unexpected but we didn't want the poor little guy to suffer any more so we went ahead with it.
He was our first "baby" before we had any of our own. He was truly an amazing pet. He loved us and anyone who would snuggle up-to him. He was a little teddy bear and he will be truly missed. He was a part of our little family and we definitely feel his void.
