" WHEN THE CARES OF LIFE ARE MANY, AND THE BURDENS HEAVY GROW, THINK OF WEAK ONES CLOSE BESIDE YOU--- iF YOU LOVE THEM TELL THEM SO. I made it fine with my eye doctor appointment yesterday. When we arrived, they asked me to fill out a form with health information etc. I filled it out without my glasses. So anyway the doctor examined my eyes and told me that most people who are in their nineties have some macular degeneration, but he said that I don't. He seemed surprised. He also said that as long as I'm seeing as well as I am, to just leave off the glasses. So that was it! I feel very thankful that I am blessed with good eyesight. I am writing this without glasses.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
. 1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.. Never let the brain idle.. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves.. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge..
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
.
I am in need of my Starbucks Coffee coffee before I go any further, and I hope that some of you will be here with me. It smells so good and I know that it will help us get off to another good start.

BURNED BISCUITS
When I was a little boy, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.
I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Baby, I love burned biscuits." Later that night, I went to tell Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!" You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper, cook or the best anything.
What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. `
I am going to stop right here. We are supposed to have a sunny day, and if so I am going to enjoy it to the fullest. We have had rain and then some more rain..
I hope that we all can be content with our lot today, smile all you can and be kind and things will work out alright. And as I said up in the Video, be the best that you can. I was listing to it just now I felt like I was a little scrub by the side of the road.

Some people MAKE things happen, some people LET things happen and some people WONDER what happened!! . Always Remember This: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing!!!
. BANK ACCOUNT . This is something we should all remember.A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. . After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy. . Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.''That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. . Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.' . It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice;I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. . Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away.. Just for this time in my life.Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. . So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! . Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank.I am still depositing. . Remember the five simple rules to be happy: . 1. Free your heart from hatred. . 2. Free your mind from worries. . 3. Live simply.. . 4. Give more. 5. Expect less. . BATS. . Did you know that bats help control pests? In fact, some species feast on as many as 1,000 mosquitoes an hour while others dine on thousands of pest beetles and moths a night. Here are some other fascinating facts about bats: There are more than 1,000 species of bats in the world. All of these bats make up about a quarter of all mammals in existence. Bats help many plants: Hundreds of plant species rely on the pollinating and seed dispersal services of bats including bananas, avocados and mangos. Bats are the most diverse group of mammals: The smallest weighs less than a penny and the largest has a wingspan of up to six feet! Why keep aspirin by your bedside?. . About Heart Attacks. There are other symptoms of an heart attack besidesthe pain on the left arm.One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.Note: There may be nopain in the chest during a heart attack. The majority of people (about 60%) who had an heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. .However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep. If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water..Afterwards - phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by - say "heart attack!" - say that you have taken 2 aspirins. - take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and.... ~ do NOT lie down ~.

"Fruiting crops, including tomatoes, need full sun most of the day for good production of quality fruit. Good drainage is also important. In high to medium rainfall areas (more than 30 inches per year) work the soil into ridges and plant on the ridge or build raised beds 12 to 18 inches deep. Plan on setting out at least one cherry tomato and 4 to 6 large-fruited varieties depending on the number of fresh tomato lovers in your family. You'll need stakes or wire tomato cages to support the plants to keep the fruit off the ground where it would rot. To insure even and efficient watering, you will want to put in a drip or soaker hose system for watering. Finally, count on mulch to keep down the weeds.

This is Scottie the SHELTIE that called Dad's home, his home for 12 years, He was the last Sheltie that I owned. I will never forget him. I did see my doctor yesterday morning, he gave me a real good going over from head to foot and he found every thing in good shape, my blood pressure was 110/80 which he said was real good for me. A Boy and His Dog. . By Edgar Guest A boy and his dog make a glorious pair:No better friendship is found anywhere,For they talk and they walk and they run and they play,And they have their deep secrets for many a day;And that boy has a comrade who thinks and who feels,Who walks down the road with a dog at his heels. . He may go where he will and his dog will be there,May revel in mud and his dog will not care;Faithful he'll stay for the slightest command And bark with delight at the touch of his hand;Oh, he owns a treasure which nobody steals,Who walks down the road with a dog at his heels. . No other can lure him away from his side; He's proof against riches and station and pride;Fine dress does not charm him, and flattery's breath Is lost on the dog, for he's faithful to death; He sees the great soul which the body conceals--Oh, it's great to be young with a dog at your heels! . . . I enjoy so much reading any poem that is by Edgar Guest. The one above is one of my favorites. It tells how loyal a dog is to his master, and the ones of us that have owned dogs know that this is so true. I know that Sara would say that it is. I did think of Misty and Oreo when I was reading this. We need to look at them again this morning. Meet me there and smile with me, Sara's Dog Training DAD. . The best kind of friends, are the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, Never say a word, And then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. .

Sit right here in this rocker and I will serve you. DAD . . .I have been thinking a lot about tomatoes, I know that it is a little early, but I like to plan early, Here below is something that someone said, I do not know who it was, it is good. . " More than any other fruit or vegetable, the tomato has changed the face of modern cuisine. Whether you toss chopped tomatoes into a beef stew, slide a few slices into a BLT, or layer them with their soul mate, basil, tomatoes have become ubiquitous." .
