His name is Boggin, he is the light colored one. Her name was originally Dolly, but I am calling her Dolly Cinnamon, trying to convert her to just Cinnamon as a new name for her. I don't think she cares what you call her as long as you have a bucket of sweet feed for her! LOL! Kelly.

If I should be sick some morning I am wondering if Oreo & Misty would come to see me over here at my little office. I do think that they would, I can just see Sara now having them on a lease and the three of them running my way. Our first fall trek (and the first without Laura) is the first weekend in November. There will be a few changes in our operations since Laura is gone. I will certainly keep you posted. The link above takes you to the one that Laura and I have use for several years. Lucy.

I made it fine with my eye doctor appointment yesterday. When we arrived, they asked me to fill out a form with health information etc. I filled it out without my glasses. So anyway the doctor examined my eyes and told me that most people who are in their nineties have some macular degeneration, but he said that I don't. He seemed surprised. He also said that as long as I'm seeing as well as I am, to just leave off the glasses. So that was it! I feel very thankful that I am blessed with good eyesight. I am writing this without glasses.

I know that you are going to be upset with me, I got so interested in all that stuff above that I forgot about our Starbucks Coffee . I hope that you still have time to wait. I can have a cup for you in about 5 minuets. Sorry about this. DAD.

I am on my way to see my friends this morning. Mary and I enjoyed looking over Sara's blog yesterday afternoon. The pictures are beautiful Sara. And you are doing a wonderful job training these Shelties. Here is where I like to go early in the mornings Sara's Dog Training . DAD.

BURNED BISCUITS

When I was a little boy, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.

I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Baby, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to tell Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper, cook or the best anything.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. `

.I have been doing a lot of work on Dad's Tomato Garden Web Page getting ready for the 2010 tomato season. I want to be ready to help you all that I can. I am going to have several things mentioned about tomatoes from when you place them in the ground until you are eating a delicious home grown tomato sandwich.. And there will be no charge to you for this, just a Smile. Dad.

"Fruiting crops, including tomatoes, need full sun most of the day for good production of quality fruit. Good drainage is also important. In high to medium rainfall areas (more than 30 inches per year) work the soil into ridges and plant on the ridge or build raised beds 12 to 18 inches deep. Plan on setting out at least one cherry tomato and 4 to 6 large-fruited varieties depending on the number of fresh tomato lovers in your family. You'll need stakes or wire tomato cages to support the plants to keep the fruit off the ground where it would rot. To insure even and efficient watering, you will want to put in a drip or soaker hose system for watering. Finally, count on mulch to keep down the weeds.

The most of you will know who this is above, if not here name is Princess. When she came to live with Mary and I she was a little kitty weighing only three pounds. She was with us for 11 years but she is gone now. She passed away Feb 14th 09. We miss her so very much and I know that we always will.

In the picture above she is sitting with me at the computer as I write my blog. She would do that every morning. Notice how close she is to me you can see the keys and a speaker. She would stay right there until I had finished my blog and then she would go to Marys room and spend the rest of the night. Oh how I miss that. DAD.

This is Scottie the SHELTIE that called Dad's home, his home for 12 years, He was the last Sheltie that I owned. I will never forget him. The things that Edgar said in his poem below were so true with Scottie. He was always by my side. He loved to play with his tennis ball and I have the ball here on my desk . When Sam read about my experience working in a grocery store Dad's Grocery Store Days he sent me this below, and it was just so good I wanted to let you read it,, THANKS Sam.

.DAD,THIS ENTRY BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES TO ME OF THE COUNTRY STORE THAT OUR FAMILY OPERATED IN THE FLINTROCK HILLS OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA.THIS WAS ALSO IN THE 1930S AS WAS YOUR STORE .

EXPERIENCES.SOMETIMES HAD TO SHOO A CAT OUT OF A BARREL TO FILL AN ORDER.OUR FAMILY COUNTRY STORE WAS A MUCH SMALLER OPERATION THAN THE ONE YOU WORKED IN, DAD.DURING WINTER MONTHS WE HAD A POT BELLIED HEATING STOVE IN THE CENTER PART OF THE AREA WHERE NEIGHBORING FARMERS AND AN OCCASIONAL TOURIST GATHERED AROUND TELLING TALES, SOMETIMES QUESTIONABLE.

AS NOW, THERE WERE THEN SOME THAT ALSO TALKED WITH THEIR HANDS. GETTING INTO THE HEART OF THE STORY AND GYRATING HANDS AND ARMS, THE BANANA STALK HANGING FROM THE CEILING SUFFERED SOME BACKHAND BLOWS AS THE ARM WAS ADDING EMPHASIS TO THE STORY.DAD I AM SURE THERE MUST HAVE BEEN STALKS OF BANANAS HANGING IN THE STORE YOU WORKED IN, THEY JUST DID NOT APPEAR IN YOUR PHOTO.

.THE KEROSENE BARREL WAS KEPT OUTSIDE, NEVER LOCKED. A CUSTOMER COULD FILL THEIR OWN CAN AND LET US KNOW HOW MUCH TO CHARGE. THE PRICE WAS TEN CENTS A GALLON.THERE WERE NO ELECTRIC LINES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, SO OF COURSE LAMPS USED A LOT OF KEROSENE.
.
ANOTHER ITEM SOLD IN SPRING AND SUMMER WAS ONE HUNDRED POUND BAGS OF CANE SUGAR. BLACKBERRY TIME MEANT CANNING TIME FOR BERRIES AND JELLY MAKING. THESE TIMES WERE THE GREAT DEPRESSION TIMES AND MOST FAMILIES WERE THINKING AHEAD FOR THE COMING WINTER'S FOOD SUPPLY. THEN TOO WERE VEGETABLES, FRUIT INCLUDING PLUMS, PEACHES, APPLES, GRAPES FOR JUICE AND WINE.NOT TO FORGET FOOD FOR THE HORSES AND COWS. FILL THAT BARN LOFT WITH HAY AND OATS IN THE GRAIN BINS.

WE 'UNS BACK YONDER IN THEM THAR HILLS IN THE OZARK FOOTHILLS HAINT HAD HIT BADLY LACK THIM CITY 'UNS.WE HEERED UV THE SOUP LINES AN TAKE YUR BUCKIT TO GIT SUPPER.(THOUGHT THE MODERN DAY CHILDREN WOULD ENJOY HEARING HOW SOME OLD TIMERS TALKED.)

Dad's Airplane Flying Days.. This is not much but it does bring back a lot of memories to me, some not so pleasant. Dad.

I do need to go, I have an appointment with that Doctor of mine at an early hour 8 a.m. He wants me to see him every 4 month whether I feel bad or not. I do feel real good this morning, my sleep was restful. I will be back in the morning if all is well.
