Havasupai

This is the group as we began to hike at 4:30 pm on Sunday evening. We all had back packs of around 30-35 lbs., except for Karen. It wasn't too hot, and it wasn't long before we were in the canyon hiking in the shade. We arrived at the campground around 8:30 pm. It was dark the last hour of hiking which made it seem harder.

Monday morning we got up and went up to Navajo Falls. We were the only ones there the whole time we played in the falls and pool. It was really fun there and so pretty. Then we went down to Havasu Falls. There were 4 other people there. The kids jumped off a few rocks/cliffs and played in the pools. Then they went down river to our campsite.

We ate lunch and then hiked down to Mooney Falls. It it such a great hike down. Through tunnels and repelling down chains and then ladders to the bottom. Mooney is amazing with all of it power and the mist it creates. It reminded all of us of Niagra Falls and the Maid of the Mist boat ride.
We hiked down river from Mooney to another place called "the showers." We went back to our camp, had dinner and then had a FHE about Grand-dad and Grandma Harriet. Then we all went in the largest tent (a three person) and played the name game and just talked. We were trying to escape from the bugs. We headed to bed because we wanted to get up at 4:30 to pack up and get on our way. We left at 6:30 to hike out. We sent our packs out on the mules though.
We arrived up at the top at about 10:45 give or take. It was a really fun hike and time together.

Girl's Camp

I got to go to girl's camp! I had a lot of fun. There was this squirrel that we would call the demon squirrel because when you went toward it, it would charge at you. There was this girl that was behind me on the bus was sleeping in a lot of weird ways.

Natalie's Zoo

Here's a recent video of Natalie and her animal sounds. It's funny to watch how she interprets different sounds that we try to teach her.

A True Toro!

On the Toro Band internet site, they have a Band History page. I was scrolling through it and I found Kathryn's year, eventually finding Kathryn's Jr. year Marching Band picture. Kathryn is in the middle, 5th row back, on the left side of Darth Vader.

We won!

Burke and I went out for ice cream one night, and the diner had a drawing. So, I put my name in, and a few weeks later, we got a postcard in the mail that said we'd won a free portrait sitting and a free 8x10. So, we got our first family picture taken a couple of weeks ago. It was really fun.

"Wuthering Heights!!!"

We just did a measure on the wall to see how tall the kids are. Aaron in a whopping 5'10 & 1/2", Anna is 5'8 & 1/2" and Karen is 5'7 & 7/8" tall. I'm afraid some of you are being left in the dust! You need to eat more germade! :) (This picture was taken at Karen's birthday the end of March. It is not a true reflection of their current height.)

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Burke! We decided to celebrate your birthday and made a cake in your honor. It tastes really good.
