Closing a Chapter
It's hard to know when is the right time to close a chapter of your life story and open a new one, but it seems we've come to that point in our journey. Zach is a big boy now, home from Russia for nearly 2 years. Here he is always trying to be like Daddy.
Zach has a few lingering effects from his previous life- but overall he's really blossomed thanks to all our friends and family who have welcomed him with open arms. What was once a speech delay is now one of his great strengths! We went to Russia with Hope and Faith that God would remember our prayers and bring this child into our lives, and that is exactly what happened. God was faithful, praise be!
Now we are home, and it just feels like we've moved on. We miss our memories of Russia, and hope to return some day with Zach if that is his wish later in life. Its time to open the next chapter. Zachary's little brother is on the way, and so it seems that we should do something new- what I still don't know. Fellow bloggers if you have any ideas, I'm open to hearing your advice on what to do with a blog when your done writing in it.
So I want to sign off by showing you some photos of our "big" boy enjoying a day out with helicopters, fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, and a big snow plow/dump truck. These are what Zach lives for- driving these vehicles was a dream come true! Every day he asks to drive my car... I have to say, I didn't expect to hear that request for about 12 more years! And I'm not going to let him have the keys until then either cuz this kid is smart, confident, capable, independant and determined enough to take a joy ride and make it on the 6 O'clock news, believe me!

Psalm 139:12
"For you yourself created my inmost parts; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I will thank you because I am marvelously made; your works are wonderful, and I know it well..."

He's growing up!
Our little boy is growing up so fast these days. He's now a full 37 inches tall, with all the charm, charisma and personality that can fit such a small person. He's turned out to be quite a talker, asking one question after another- so many questions our ears get tired. Zach is quite able to tell us elaborate stories- usually about firetrucks, tractors or other machinery. Now if we could just get him potty trained, we'd have a REAL BIG BOY at our house!
Here Zach is helping Daddy assemble the new bookshelf/organizing bins for his bedroom. I'm so glad we bought these!
