This is going to be a short post cos it's almost 4 am now.
School has reopened but I am still in denial. My first week super relac man. HAhaha SHIOK! Perhaps it's the calm before the storm. School began with the usual search for project mates, brief course outlines, meeting all the middle-age profs, etc. Have a mod which I know no one- insecurities- but it's about being open to it and meeting new people I guess.
Read my dear AWC gals' blog posts. And I seriously miss them big time. I wish I could pack them into a pocket like Doraemon and bring them around everywhere I go. And wish they are around me in uni, just like in vj! But well they are always around, right there in that life-sustaining organ embedded in my chest. Love you all =) They posted all the photos possible on their respective posts so I don't have any left to post. Haha so I am using the following pic as a substitute to represent the 4 of us:
Haha don't ask me who is who. The cliche phrase which is still always applicable- Friends Forever!
My post holidays syndrome (momo intro-ed this term to me and I can totally relate to it) was partially cured after my "roomie outing". Even a day at JP can be such a blast =) What we did:
- Ate Crystal Jade- xiao long baos and la mian. Yums!
- Watched momo shopped to her heart's content. I didn't buy clothes except for a formal skirt which I would need for PA. Heh heh what an achievement! Well on the light side, at least momo is helping our Singapore economy.
- Watched Ponyo. And yes the song was stucked in our heads for quite some time. Momo even played it on the recorder! Ponyo is soooo cute (unlike momo). And the funny sounds it makes really reminds me of ah min =) It's a good thing!
- Watched momo gobbled down her KFC. Haha i survived being in a KFC restaurant without eating anything there.
Hope there's more roomie outings soon... provided our profs are kind to us and give only humane workloads.
You know that saying: "you always hurt the people closest to you". And I did exactly that. For that, I am really sorry. I promise to try not to take such an approach in future- though it's really my usual defence mechanism. Glad you made me talk about it! I guess I am still learning...about both you and myself.
Good Luck for school everyone! And I am so looking foward to all our reunion dinners =)

That dull feeling again. The urge to run away, or simply hide in one corner to hole oneself up in a tiny black world. The desire to be alone- doing simple things, or nothing at all- but not having the chance to fulfill it. Fear, and more fear of doing the wrong things, making the wrong decisions, saying things you know will hurt (but still say them anyway). These pretty much sum up the negative vibes in me for this hols.
Depression and emo-ness always set in when it's the last week of holidays. This syndrome gets especially bad since this is my last real true blue student holiday. The new semester kickstarts the whirlwind of the real world where competition for interns and jobs are. Just the thought of it makes me really tired. Interviews, the practiced smiles and lines, pressure on grades. Bahh... at most I would be an unemployed bum who lives off my parents lor. Okie just kidding (but a very tempting option). Better yet, I will just get married to some random guy and do housework or nua all day, while he brings in the bread. Yes it's a better option hur hur.
Depression aside... tried to meet up with everyone I hope to meet. And lots happened within this short period. So... Xue Ying:
1) Passed driving test. Finally a qualified driver after spending a freaking 2.5K ++ on the driving lessons. No more rushing to kovan =D Someone please teach me how to park in a real lot.
2) Had the sweetest birthday of my life so far. Would always remember that nice cozy pizza place, its bread sticks and the nice food. And sitting beside you at the bank of sg river =)
3) Went to Taiwan for a week. The holiday destination I wished for all my life. Visited the most beautiful places and ate lots of yummy food. But somehow, sg is still the best. Would love to go back to Taiwan someday with friends. I want more shopping! Had 8 of the also sweetest ever emails in my inbox when I was back =)
4) Finally met up with my dear friends. Got to know about some interesting "hitched up" news =) the love bug is in the air (or is it my timely influence *grins*). To Shawn and Huang, Congrats! Enjoyed every moment of the meet ups- the k-ing with hui&quek, S24A pizza hut outing, mini chipmunks outing at timbre with the heavenly roasted duck pizza, the candele and cape no. 7 with jing, swensens with shawn&quek, the xiao long baos+cheesecrackers+wishball+american pie vids+gift exchange sleepover session with awc dears, thai express with my jie meis' and our catching ups.
5) Visited city hall more than 8 times. I also dunno why. Maybe my friends have a thing for city hall. I can walk to Suntec with my eyes closed now.
6) Had the most unforgettable Xmas. And one of the longest walk of my life too. We are 2 weird people who appeared in city hall only after xmas count down, do nothing in particular except made xmas "cards" using serviettes (I left the construction paper in hall), and eat char kway teow in lau pa sat. Had a hard time finding Nr5. But at least we discovered a nice starbucks =) And I received the weirdest flowers so far haha.
7) Tried cooking- but it only involved washing 2 potatos and throwing CP wantan in the microwave. Oh I tried to peel a kiwi with a knife (my childhood fear!) but it looks weird. Okie I failed badly in my attempts to be domestic. At least I tried *sheepish*. But I have better luck at the IIC Xmas party, where me and boss tried cooking sambal fish/sotong and the golden mushroom with bacon tinky. Had a blast at the party!
Some pics below to brighten up this post before I go back to my emo and gloomy world of "hols is ending soon!". I want more time and I dun wanna go back to school! Think whinny 8 year old kid.

Jing said that it's so cute that she got to buy it no matter what (and give it to me, in my opinion). Obviously she was reminded of me when she bought it *wahahah* Okok it's mostly for my sis =p

Gou gou is sooo cute! Haha I just love it more after I saw this pic =)

The cooking preps. The food tasted great - even though the cooking part not much kick and mostly not done by me =p

This pig is obviously not me. She's as dead as a rock. heh heh.

Haha wt loves this pic. Yes the demure me was forced to take it lor. But I do look quite funny. Well the char kway teow at lau pa sat is really very yummy =)
Yay a shot with a xmas tree. Not easy to take this photo hor cos the tree is actually behind this glass door!
The weirdest flower ever received... but I like it!

Yes the inspirational golden mushroom and bacon food wrapped by me and kelv. Not too bad! Yesh I can cook...

The super beautiful cakes that are 100% handmade by our talented IIC pros. How come I am not appropriately influenced by their talents hur?

A picture of paradise. How come Sg don't have such views?! The air is so nice too- Hearts Taiwan!

A final picture to sum this all up. A happy us back in Taiwan... Someone please bring me back there one day! Haha Happy New Year everyone... May 2009 brings us lots of joy and bliss =)
