November 15th, 2008 was a beautiful day which worked out perfect for Trav's plan to take me to Hardware Ranch. We couldn't have asked for better weather! (Little did I know Travis had a few more plans for the day besides just hiking!) Travis told me he'd pick me up at 10 and not to be late, so I was ready to go when he came and we headed up beautiful Blacksmith Fork Canyon. When we got up to the Ranch we walked along the main trail and then at a certain spot Travis lead us off the trail and we started hiking further up. We made it to the top of one pretty steep hill and I began to wonder if he had something up his sleeve, but when he turned right around and headed back down the hill, I told myself I was crazy for getting my hopes up!:) However, on our way down, he led me to a certain tree where a big white box of flowers was sitting,(which were my favorite flowers by the way!)along with a little picnic. The ring was tied on top of the flowers. It was there, with a beautiful view, that Travis got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I couldn't have asked for a better engagement story! We're so excited and I sure feel lucky! :) -Britt

Flaming Gorge
We went to Flaming Gorge with Britt's family over Fall Break in October. It was gorgeous and the weather was perfect! We fished...a lot...and had a wonderful time. Hailey was so excited that Travis was coming on the annual Flaming Gorge trip and of course we got to hear Grandpa Saunders' classic camping stories! We had a wonderful time!

Mississippi Trip
Our trip to Mississippi was a blast! We drove 23 hours to get there, and 23 hours to get back, all in a matter of 4 days, but wouldn't have missed it for the world! We were able to visit a few of the people Travis taught and knew on his mission. We stayed with the Syme family and both love them to death! We went on the trip to see their son, Austin, get baptized and it was worth every minute of the drive!
General Conference October 2008
We had a fabulous time visiting Temple Square and attending the Sunday afternoon session of General Conference. We're so lucky to live so close! Travis' uncle Brian gave us tickets and we were so thrilled! How blessed we all are to have the Gospel in our lives and to be able to listen to the General Authorities of the Church. Conference was wonderful and something always to look forward to!
