The company even went as far as to print out a code and instructions to download their free app which can let you ‘wake up T-Shirt’. I just think that the idea is pretty neat.

AR is similar to QR technology, and some might say that they work more or less hand in hand, one should exist with one another. Or AR is simply an amplified version of QR Codes. QR and AR technology can be used to video games too, so, I can only imagine how excited pro gamers and developers are about connecting the internet, video, audio and gaming all in one app. The stuff that we see and imagine in movies is finally coming to life, I would say.

Doctors have to make very difficult decisions every day – who gets to live, who does not. The doctors and physicians in Italy and everywhere around the world, are forced to play God because of the shortage of ventilators,” he shares thoughtfully.

And he’s right.

Being in such an unenviable position can leave a deep, long-lasting psychological effect on those who make those decisions.

Passionate About Spreading the Word

Like many others in his network, Marek is passionate about helping those in need. He knows that with the use of the helmet based ventilators, lives can be saved. Even Canada is getting on board.

He believes that we can step up the tempo in producing these helmets by getting them assembled and tested more quickly. Within a more respectable time frame, the helmets can be ready for dispatch to hospitals, beating the clock, reaching those in need faster than the virus can.

Beating the Virus at its Own Game

When the virus took hold of the world of medical science, the focus was on intubation.

As we approach the summer months, some countries may go through a short respite from the Covid-19 onslaught. However, in smaller countries, in sidelined villages and locked-down countries, they face an even more dire need for help and outside aid.

The saving grace may come from these small groups of good samaritans who are already working on the helmet based ventilators to keep the pendulum swinging.

KUALA LUMPUR: Castrol has introduced an online car care portal, extending its service beyond the lubricant business.

It announced last Wednesday the launch of Carama.com, a web and mobile-enabled portal which simplifies car care, maintenance and workshop guide for consumers in an easy-to-use and one-stop solution.

Castrol said it hoped Carama would ultimately help to rebuild the relationship and trust between car owners and workshops that have for years been sullied by some who cheat or provide poor services to their customers.

A recent Castrol survey with over 400 respondents in the Klang Valley showed the need for independent workshops to build a trusting relationship with car owners, providing them honest pricing and quality workmanship.

The new website has a so-called “Carama Certified Shops”, a way for web visitors to get a comparison of service quality among the listed workshops.

Workshops are evaluated based on a 40-point test by Carama’s panel of independent third party experts.

The Carama portal offers features like accredited repair shop locator, spare parts calculator, “my car logbook” and Carama rewards.

Car owners will be able to share consumer reviews based on actual experiences of Carama certified and listed shops.

The site also uses social media, linking car owners so that they can share their experiences and maintenance tips with friends, family and the general public.

“Carama will also benefit independent workshops and mechanics by generating valuable business leads for those who lack the capability to market their workshops, especially online,” said Castrol Innoventures (strategic innovation arm) general manager Sumeet Wadhwa.

“Carama is envisioned as the ‘go to’ site for car care in Malaysia, although we are still in the early stages of the portal’s development,” he added.

“Car owners are concern about maintenance costs, prices and quality of repairs.

“Carama will streamline the selection process and provide car owners peace of mind and confidence that they have made the right decision in their choice of workshop.”

Friendster’s got the crappiest Blog system

No, wait. Let me correct that….Friendster.com has got the crappiest of everything! I don’t know why Friendster is still around despite the current surge of more sophisticated blogging/photo posting/video posting/linking websites around! I think multiply.com is one of the best around. Don’t know, been using it to keep up with my friends and all that and they seem to be working wonders for me. Yeah, I know…how can I miss it with all that hype….myspace too. I also tried the latest launch from yahoo which is their 360 degrees thing. Works pretty much like multiply and myspace actually except that it has all of your Yahoo links, friends, messenger list and stuff in there. Pretty neat if you have everything under Yahoo.
