Ten year Reunion

So it has taken me a week to get back on here...my reunion was kind of a joke. I am glad I went because now I know what it was like and don't have to wonder, but nothing much changed. Jeff didn't know the people, but could go @ the room and "label" the jocks, cool people, etc. The smae groups that hung out ten years ago hung out there. I talked to a few people and most everyone I saw smiled and asked how I was doing, but for the most part Jeff and I just hung out. Most of the people I did hang out with just didn't show up and I did some self analyzing while I was there. In high school I did not fit into one crown inparticular--I did a lot of stuff with a lot of different groups over my 4 years and didn't stay in one group. With over 500 in my class it wasn't hard to find new people to hang out with. I didn't play a sport, I wasn't a cheerleader or in the band. I did A LOT with my youth group--so I didn't have many people to catch up with at the reunion. Plus I was the strange one being married for almost 7 years and having two kids. Most were still single, just engaged or only married a year or two. The quote of the night was "D--n girl, you look good for having two kids!" That made me feel good and of course I loved showing off my cute hubbie!! All in all I feel like my life is really established and I like it that way. I like my hubbie, children, church and home. I'm proud of where I am 10 years later.

Exhausted

This is a day when no one gets out of their pajama's!! The McInuturff family is satying home and doing as little as possible all day--Poor Jeff is an exception b/c someone has to make $$ around here. The weekend was fun and I have some funny Christian conversations, but I'm just too tired to care about doing this today. I will feed and change my children's diapers, I will read to them and put them both to bed (together hopefully) and feed and nap myself--if all goes to plan. Jeff has begun going to a men's group on Monday nights and we'll be on our own for dinner. I just want to veg and do as little as possible. The kids and I are hanging out in the basement to be away from Christian's greatest temptation--the TV. He's currently "reading" to his sister and was playing with his Thomas table earlier. I'll try to update stuff this week, but it's busy--we have the first day of school and the first ever Otter Creek consignment sale that I am trying to help with.

Snoopy Day

It was our second Snoopy day at Otter Creek Pre-School yesterday. The first one Christian and I both cried and continued to do so for the first week. This year I could hardly keep up. There is a hill leading up to the doors and I paused to take a pic of him running up. (we'll post the pic when Jeff is here--maybe I'll finally master the skill on our new computer) After that I couln't catch up--He yelled down the hill "I want to see my friends Mommy!" He only paused a moment at his classroom door and then he entered the blessed world of Miss Dele. I can't tell you how excited we are that he will be in her classs this year. Those that don't know her are missing out b/c she loves children and is a great woman of GOD. All of his best friends are in his class and there are only 9 total. It will be nice for them to have such a small group. We look forward to all his new adventures and things he'll learn this year.
With Christian back in school, Baylor and mommy will have some time together. Not that we don't love hanging out with big brother--we just need some girl time:) I can't wait to see what her personality will become over the next couple of months--crawling/walking are just around the corner. Then she'll keep me extra busy.

Frustrated

What do you do with a three year old that refuses to potty and is now trying to not take naps?!?!? I tell him he has to stay in his room and he'll stay for about an hour. This only happens every few days and the other times he still takes his LOOONNNGGG nap. I can't complain too much, but I need that time to myself to get other stuff done or just veg. The potty thing is where I'm really at a lose. We have tried candy, incentive charts, rocks in a jar to get a toy we thought he wanted...you name it. He just could care less and refuses to do it. The frustrating thing is I know he CAN b/c for the two weeks before his birthday he did it--poop and pee--now he just won't. I'm hoping school will add some peer preasure and maybe Miss Dele can do it for me--wouldn't that be nice.

I hear Baylor calling my name so I better go. Jeff, kids and I are all loading up in the car to go to Atlanta this weekend. We'll see old church friends and attend my 10 year HS reunion--otta be fun:)

A Big Thanks

I wanted to publicly thank my friends Elizabeth and Lisa for letting me to our laundry at their houses over the past two days. Monday is typically laundry day and I was in the middle of the 1st load and our washer started making weird noises and stopped working. So here I am with soapy wet sheets and nothing to do with them. In steps my wonderful friend Elizabeth who was going to be gone all day, but graciously let us invade her home to do our laundry:) It all got done that day except for Jeff's smelly golf clothes fom his trip that he returned from last night...in steps Lisa who let me do that load while we were at her house for Brock's b-day party today. Thank God for good friends and quick repair people. MaryAnn gave me the name of some repair people they have used and they were so quick we now have a working washer again.

All a day in the life of a stay at home mom, huh? While I was at Elizabeth's house I became inspired to get more organized. (She is our resident Queeen of organization) I am an organizer/planner by nature, but it gets so overwhelming trying to organize 4 people and all their stuff--it is just easier not to sometimes, but then I just get frustrated. I'm going to try and get better--we'll see how long it takes:)

Teething?!?!

We had a long few days of fussiness, fever and not wanting to eat. Any time we gave her something cold she was in heaven and is still knawing on anything in sight, but still no tooth!!! We were convinced that was what was happening and it still may be...just no break through the surface yet.

Christian is getting bigger and more "adult". Today we were on our way to a b-day party that was suppossed to be outside-playing in sprinklers and such. Christian asking if his friend had toys and if he could play with them. I told him all his friends would be outside and he should play there. He was quiet for a minute and responded with this: "Mommy, that not my choice--I want to stay inside with his toys...outside is not my choice." Talk about your teaching turning around on you!! We have talked about making good/bad choices lately. He obviously has understood what we have said and is making use of his knowledge.

We continue to have fun at music class(musicplayhouse.com if you're interested)once a week. He has picked up so much and loves to sing. They play with instruments, work on tonal patterns and rhythms. He is learning so much!! We end this session in a week and start a new one in September. We also start back to scool in two weeks...how the summer has flown by.

That is it for now...have a good week.
