Pinewood Derby 2015

Each year in Cub Scouts the boys participate in pinewood derby where they get to build their own cars and race them.  It's an activity done with dad since Mom does not know how to use all the drills and carving tools.  The boys each chose what kind of car they wanted and then they went to work carving, painting, gluing, putting on the weights, and assembling with dad.  Evan creatively chose to turn his block of wood into the shape of a Coke A Cola bottle with wheels.  Calum chose to carve his out in the shape of a penguin.

They both turned out SO AWESOME!  My boys were so creative!  What great ideas, and a great daddy who was able to make it happen!

Piano Man

Last week Calum began piano lessons after taking quite a few month off.  He was so excited to start back up with a new piano teacher, Mrs. June.  He has been practicing all on his own, and today he learned how to play "Hot Cross Buns".  My wish for him is that he sticks to it, and learns how to not only play fluidly, but also read music well.  Keep up the great work Calum!

Pre K for Calum

The spring before a childs kindergarten year our school has a program for one hour a week for five weeks where the soon to be kindergarteners get to come and experience what is soon to come. It's a chance for kids to become familiar with the campus, classrooms, and teachers. Since you are already familiar with all of the above this transition into big boy school will be "Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy" , as Mrs. Passmore would put it.

Here you are in front of the Kindergarten classroom.
You and your buddy Aaron.
Silly boys..
You had to try out the bikes, and yes your feet do reach the pedals...barely, but they do!
You and Aaron had some playtime before class started.
Time to line up...
You were a very good listener at carpet time.
You got to meet the Kindergarten turtle. His name is Timmy.
You had a short assignment to work on. Color, cut, and paste.
Working, and taking it very seriously.
Mrs. Passmore gave a quick talk about the playground rules before letting everyone play. Can you see Evan up on the equipment? He enjoyed being the big kid in the Kinder play area, but it also made him miss being a kindergartner

Evan's First Game of 2012- Single A Division

This is your third year of baseball and now you know the rules, and things are becoming more competitive. You are on the Giants, and were very excited about playing your first game of the 2012 season. You stopped for a quick pose with Mommy.

Go Giants! This is the first sport team shirt I have ever bought in my LIFE! Yes I will do anything to support my kids:)!

You and Daddy. We need to get Daddy a Giants shirt. That is definitely on the list of To Do's!
Look at that stance.
Batter up...What a swing!
Some tips...
I love how when you are up at bat you always take a quick glance towards the stands to make sure I am watching you!!!

GO GIANTS!!! It's going to be another great season with our friends! We have some great dedicated coaches and a fabulous community. We are thankful!

Calum's First T ball Game

You were so excited for your first t-ball game! The day was finally here and although the forecast called for a 70 percent chance of rain and canceled the opening day parade and ceremonies...the game was still on. It was a cold game, but you were a great sport and had a blast!

You and Mommy posing before the game. We were frozen!

You and your buddy Jackson.
Cute Calumazoo...
Our Team Banner
You and Jackson were jumping up and down while on the outfield in an effort to stay warm.
Gloves down and waiting for the ball.
It's hilarious to watch the mad rush dog pile when the ball comes. You got it this time!
Your first time up to bat..., and you SMACKED that ball!

Daddy giving you instructions on when and where to run next!
2-4-6-8..Who do we appreciate?

It was a chilly, but fabulous first game. The start to a fun season. Go Yankees!!!
