Beach day

We went with Anthony's sister, Monique and her boys to a beach in Ventura. All the kids had a great time playing in the sand and water. We even spotted s0me dolphins! That was the highlight of the day for me!!

LAPD Academy

Both of my parents and step-dad went through the LAPD academy and since Anthony is a deputy he wanted to go and see where they went through their training and pick up some souvenirs for his deputy friends. It was fun taking the kids to the academy because I remember going there as a child. We took the kids to the rock garden where I used to play.

Pool fun

My kids LOVE to swim! We've spent several of the days swimming while here in California. The weather is HOT, HOT, HOT, perfect for swimming and staying cool.

The kids and their Nana

Lunch with Nana

Today we went to lunch with Anthony's mom, Eva. We went to my very favorite place, Bob's Big Boy! YUM!!

Family Fun Center

After our long 15 hour drive to California we thought the kids needed some time to get all their energy out. We took them to a family fun center. It was really, really hot, but the kids had a great time. They went on go-karts, bumper boats and played lazer tag.

Connor's new summer hairdo

It took me a bit to convince Connor to let me shave his hair into a mohawk but this morning he finally let me do it. I think he looks pretty cool! It needs some fixing but I like it, for the summer at least.

It's official

As of 10:50 this morning Connor will have officially completed 1st grade! I can't believe how fast this past school year has gone. Many parents have told me once the school years start, time flies. They were right. Connor has had a wonderful year, he had a fantastic teacher that I will miss! I really enjoyed all the hours I spent volunteering in his classroom. He has become a math whiz! He's above grade level for math and reading and just where he should be for writing. I'm very proud of all the hard work he did this year and I'm looking forward to the time we get to spend together this summer. He's growing up so quickly sometimes I wish I could stop time but I'm also looking forward to what the future holds for him.

WAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Crying. That's all I hear these days. And no, not from me. Charlotte. Cries. All. The. Time. Everything brings tears to my overly dramatic little girl. This morning it was the butter on her waffles. It's usually something so small and insignificant but it makes her cry, non-stop. This phase may drive me insane. It probably won't end until she reaches adulthood. AHH! It may make me cry.

Your parallelowhat?

The other day in the car Charlotte was playing on her Leapster and she says to Connor, "Can you help me get these parallelograms on my house?". WHAT?!? I didn't know she even knew what a parallelogram was. I was impressed she knew the difference between a square and a rectangle! I think she may be a genius ;)

Charlotte's Pre-K graduation

Today Charlotte officially graduated from Pre-K. I can't believe her preschool days are behind her. She learned a lot and made a lot of friendships this past year. I loved her school and it will be really strange not going to drop her off four days a week anymore. I will cherish this summer as it is the last before she becomes an elementary school student.

Scatter Brain

Sometimes I think I may be losing my mind. I have a serious case of "pregnancy brain". This didn't happen to me in my previous two pregnancies and I'm not sure why it's happening now. I forget everything. I can't remember names or times of appointments or even what day it is half the time. Now I'm dropping things and it's really hard to bend over to pick the same item up two times, I actually can't breathe when I bend over. And just last night at dinner it took me three times to get one of my bites actually into my mouth (Anthony thought this was pretty funny). This is really annoying and it's one symptom I won't miss!

23 weeks 2 days

We weren't home this weekend so I couldn't post my usual weekly belly picture. I took this one today. I measured myself recently and I'm only one inch away from were I was with Connor and Charlotte at 34 weeks. Holy cow, if I keep this up, I'm going to be huge!

My little carnivore

Charlotte definitely doesn't take after me with her love of meat. My girl LOVES chicken. We went to a party this weekend and there was some fried chicken and Charlotte went crazy for it. Actually everybody did, I really didn't see what the fuss was all about. Charlotte was so cute sitting on the playground eating her chicken leg.
