Family fun

Random pictures from today

Today is our first day on our California vacation. It was such a beautiful day. We played at two parks and did everything we could just to stay outside.

As soon as we got off the plane this morning we made our way to Bob's Big Boy. It was a favorite of mine as a child and now it's one of our kids' favorite places.

Sisters

I love that Charlotte has a little sister. She's a great big sister!

Charlotte's first piece of jewelry from a boy! Her friend Paul adores her and gave her this egg with a bracelet inside. I thought that was so sweet. When Anthony saw this he said, "I think me and Paul need to have a talk.". Already the overprotective father! I can only imagine how her teen years are going to be.

Exemplary Performance Award

Tonight Anthony was awarded with the Exemplary Performance Award. The department had an awards ceremony honoring some of the staff for their hard work during 2009. We are very proud of Anthony for being one of the honorees. Anthony was also nominated for Deputy of the Year. He was only one of five deputies nominated. In the last year Anthony has received four awards! I think he found his calling!

Weight and length info

Claire had her six month well baby check today. The doctor says she's developing right on track. Her weight was 14 pounds 12 ounces (25th percentile) and length was 26 3/4 inches (almost 90th percentile). I remember when Connor was six months old he weighed a whooping 20 pounds 4 ounces, he was 5 and a half pounds heavier than Claire. No wonder she feels so light to me!

Six months

At six months Claire:

* rolls both ways

* eats rice cereal and is beginning stage one foods, so far she's had applesauce, avocadoes, sweet potatoes and bananas, still nursing 5 times per day

* imitates me; if I shake my head, she shakes her head (she thinks this is pretty funny), talks when I talk to her in 'her' language

* super ticklish, laughs and squirms when I take her shirt off

* sleeps from 6:30p-6:30a and naps 3 times per day

* wears 3-6 month clothing but beginning to grow out of some of her pants

* wears size 2 diapers

* almost sitting up unassisted

She has her well-baby check tomorrow so I will post weight and length info tomorrow

Picture of the day 3/22/10

I figured out that these 'I love my daddy' shirts are only sold in girls clothing and the 'I love my mommy' shirts are only sold in boys clothing. Do boys not love their dads, or girls not love their moms? I dare you to go out and find an 'I love my mommy' shirt in a girls outfit. I have yet to see one. I found 'my mommy loves me' in girls but that's it. I just don't get it.
