Old friends
One reason I love coming down to California is to visit with friends. We were lucky to have a few old friends visit with us.

Celebrity's!
My sister-in-law's husband surprised the kids with a trip to meet some celebrity animals. I was excited to go too! We got to meet the penguins from Mr. Popper's Penguins, the dogs from Eight Below and Beverly Hills Chihuahua, various birds and other animals in other movies. It was a fun day but the highlight for Connor was the penguins.
Claire and Julia
Our good friends Star and Eric have two kids and one of their children is just five months older than Claire. Claire and Julia had so much fun playing together. It was really cute to watch.
Go Dodgers!
We took the kids to their very first major league baseball game. Connor had SO much fun! We loved watching him watch the game.

Olvera Street
Today we took a trip on the Metro Link train and went into LA. We visited my sister in law Monique and went to lunch with her then we were off to Olvera St. I had a couple of observations about LA; it smells and the people are weird! I'm glad I don't have to go there on a daily basis! It was a fun day overall.

Santa Barbara beach
We spent the day in Santa Barbara with our very good friends, Johnny and Shelby and their two children. We had so much fun at the zoo, at lunch and at the beach. I'm so happy to have had the whole day to spend with them.
Claire and Rylee, they're just two months apart in age
Cousins
We spent some time with my sister Kerry and her family. The kids LOVE visiting with their cousins!

Bake You Happy makes Charlotte happy
As I'm sure your aware, Charlotte loves the show, Cupcake Wars. Well, a while back we were watching an episode and there were some contestants from Castaic (near where we used to live), their business is called Bake You Happy. I was so excited! When we got here I looked them up on the internet and found out that since they won Cupcake Wars they were able to open a store front in Valencia, only a few miles from my mother-in-law's house! Boy, were me and Charlotte excited!! Today we went over there to check it out and get some yummy cupcakes. Charlotte got to take a picture with one of the contestants on the show. What a happy day for her!

We got peanut butter cup, snickerdoodle, heavenly and black and white
Disneyland!
We spent four days at Disneyland and California Adventure. Wow! It was so much fun and so exhausting!
We saw more characters than we could count
Claire LOVED getting hugs from the characters. Everytime she saw one she'd put her arms out and say "hug".
Anthony had to get a picture with Woody. Woody and Anthony were arguing who was the deputy. Woody won because his badge says sheriff.
We went to a character dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. Charlotte said it was the best time she's ever had. There were six or seven characters who each came to our table, talked to the kids, signed their autograph books and took pictures with them.
Claire just loved Minnie!
We went to California Adenture. This was the first time for all of us at that park. I liked it but like Disneyland better. We got to ride the brand new Little Mermaid ride. It was a cute ride.

We got the kids Mickey ears hats
Connor's hat wasn't ears but Dale's head. It was really cute on him.
