Still back in December...

Tessa turned 3!
This picture was so poorly taken that it almost looks like I used Photoshop to give it some great effect. Nope, just a bad picture unless you can get past all the graininess and darkness and realize that Tessa looks adorable in it.

It's my party and I'll pout if I want to.
Notice the billion sprinkles on the cake...they were put there to unsuccessfully try to cover up my horrible frosting job. All year Tessa had talked about her pink cake she wanted for her birthday. It was pink bit it wasn't pretty! However, the frosting my dad made was delicious.

Bowling was definitely a group effort. The best was when Tessa rolled the ball all by herself and it took over a minute to get to the end. The kids all jumped up and down with their arms in the air until it made it to the end. It was a gutter ball, by the way.

Tessa's birthday party in Utah. Once again we went with the bowling theme with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents to share the fun. A few facts about Tessa (from way back in December):
1. Loves dresses, and the fancier the better. She would go weeks before I could get a pair of pants on her.
2. Knows all her letter sounds. But she can't say her L's and her R's. "Yet's put on a dwess" would be typical for her.
3. Loves Max. Ask her what she's thankful for, and it's Max. Ask her who her best friend is, and it's Max. That being said, I'm pretty sure she gets lots of satisfaction when she can bring Max to tears.

Anyway, I mostly just have to say I love my sweet, petite girl oh so very much.

Great with kids...

...which is good since Tyler got into the Baylor Pediatric residency. So the next two years will be spent right here in Dallas. I've always felt like Dallas was just a temporary stop before we settled...somewhere. But six years isn't all that temporary. We're thrilled and so grateful for the way things have turned out. Baylor was Tyler's first choice, and it's an awesome program. Now he just needs to pass this fourth year...not an easy requirement here at Baylor.

P.S. Last week we had temperatures in the 70s. Today's high is 19 degrees. I'm still not used to the crazy weather fluctuations that occur here (although I think this one is pretty extreme even for Dallas).

P.P.S. When they advise you to keep your faucets running to keep them from freezing you should listen. Tyler had them going last night, but before I went to bed I turned them all down to a slow drip. It just seemed like a waste of water and my semi-green conscience was nagging at me. Now the pipes to our kitchen sink are frozen, and we have no hot water anywhere. I tried to save the earth, and this is how it repaid me...
