Going out on top

Last weekend Karsten had another wrestling tournament and took first we were so excited for him but not as excited as he was. It is always so much funner watching him win than end the day in tears! He won his first and second round with points but on the third he pinned the guy. Yay for the gold! Here is a video of his second round but for the life of me I can't get it to turn the right way so if you know how please help! Obviously I'm still computer illiterate.

Parties, Ponies & Pins

Yesterday Jaxon got to ride on a pony while at the babysitters, she takes Jaxon and her little boy to story corner at the library on Tuesdays and yesterday the librarian brought their ponies for the kids to ride. He thought it was pretty cool! Thanks for the picture Jenny.

4th place in Enterprise

2nd place in Milford

Wrestling season has begun and so far Karsten has competed in two tournaments. Two weeks ago he went to Milford and did really well he took second place in his weight. Last week he went to Enterprise and struggled taking 4th place. Wrestling by far is the hardest sport to watch my boys compete in because they are all on their own, win or lose their is not a team to back them up. It is really hard for me as a parent to watch especially when they are losing and in tears out in the mat. Thankfully Karsten doesn't lose very often and is a pretty good wrestler. This weekend we have one more tournament and then wrestling is over, then on to soccer and little league.

For Dylans birthday I let him have a sleepover with a few of his friends, he wanted 10 and I told him no way! So we settled on 6 which was still a lot. They ate pizza, played outside in the dark and freezing cold, door bell ditched the neighbors (one of the boys parents), we made sundaes, played pool, watched movies, and played football in my house! They were really good though and had a great time staying up all night partying! I'm glad my kids only have one birthday a year its a lot of work.

St. Thomas/ St. John

In the Taxi

Me @ Trunk Bay "The most beautiful beach in the world"

Our last port we stopped in was St. Thomas, it was my favorite island. It is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands and so beautiful. When we got off the boat we took a taxi to the other side of the island, and then caught a ferry over to St. John's another U.S.V.I. that was only 15 minutes away. While there we went to Trunk Bay "the #1 beach in the world" by National Geographic. It was amazing they has the most perfect sand there it looked like it just got shipped in from bags, and the water was so clear and blue the pictures don't do it justice. Most of St. John is a national park so they take really good care of it and there weren't that many people there, it was perfect. After laying out and playing in the water we took a taxi and ferry back to St. Thomas. We took a tour of the island and then went shopping. A lot of the beaches in St. Thomas are also national parks so they are really clean and well maintained. And the best part is if I move to St. Thomas I am still in America, except a gallon of milk there costs $8 and they don't own washers or dryers, they have to go the laundry mats because their water is so expensive. It's the 2nd most expensive place to live in America, because they have to ship everything in. So I might be not be able to stay for very long. It really is paradise except for maybe the Iguanas everywhere!

St. Maarten

Robert, Colleen, & Ty on the catamaran

Our third port we stopped in was St. Maarten, it is the island half owned by the Dutch and the other half owned by the French. While we were there we went Kayaking and snorkeling. It was a two man Kayak so me and Tyler were on our own to get ourselves where we needed to be, it was hard work. We stopped at a beach and went snorkeling, I mostly just swam around and floated. The guide kept asking me if I was okay and I told I didn't like to snorkel because of the breathing and he just laughed at me because I paid money to come and do it. Tyler told me I could never be a firefighter because of the claustrophobic thing so now my hopes and dreams are ruined :) It was fun even if the Kayaking kicked my butt. I like the aqua boats better they are a lot less work! After we were done with our excursion we went back to the beach for a drink and on the Dutch side of the island there is not supposed to be nudity, only on the French side. Apparently some lady did not get that memo, she was laying out topless and the guys around us were having a hayday. We had to stand by her to get on the catamaran to take us back to the ship and I thought this one guy was going to pull out his camera it was so funny to watch cuz he was telling all his friends and staring. She couldn't have cared less! It was fun and it was a beautiful island.

Curacao

On our Aqua boat- notice the pirate ship in the background

Me in front of our ship

The beachfront of Curacao, it was a very colorful city

Curacao was our next port we stopped in. It was a cool city every builing was painted a different color. We went shopping there and also went on some aqua boats, which were pretty much a wave runner with a motor off the back. It was fun we rode those around for quite a while and saw all the houses of the rich in their little bays. Then we stopped to go snorkeling which is not my favorite, I feel like I can't breath and get very clostrophobic. But I keep trying it because Tyler loves it and wants me to do it with him. We snorkeled down and saw a sunken tugboat which was kinda cool. It was overcast and rained that day but it was still warm and we had a good time!

Aruba

the old gold smelter, that is falling apart

The natural bridge is off the pic to the right, and no we didn't get in and swim with the sharks

Our Jeep Safari

Us in front of the rock formation that you can't see very well.

In Aruba we went on a Jeep Safari, it was so fun. We had a guide named Sylvia and she called herself Mama, "come children, follow mama", she was so funny. We went to a huge rock formation, a huge natural bridge where the sharks are, the oldest church on the island, the old gold smelter the dutch used to run to export gold back to the queen in Holland, the California Lighthouse, and a beautiful beach with perfect white sand. I even drove the jeep, which I think my passengers were wishing I hadn't because it was roughest part of the trip but it was fun anyway watching their heads bounce around. I even learned some dutch while I was there Dushi- means sweetheart and Masha Donka Io- means thank you goodbye. Aruba has huge catus and palm trees everywhere, they even make fences out of the cactus. It was one of my favorite islands we went to.

Dylan is a Decade Old

Flag football

First day of 4th grade

Dylan & his best friend Clay

Dylan & Jaxon's birthday party with a red socks cake of course

Today Dylan is 10 years old and it almost breaks my heart! I am not ready for him to be that old and it just reminds me I only have a few years left with him at home. He was born a healthy 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 21 inches long at 5:20 p.m. 10 years ago today. I was in labor with him the longest at 6 hours but he was worth every second. He was such a good baby, he never cried and was just happy all the time! If I was smart enough to use my scanner I would put baby pics up but I don't know how yet. He is still a good kid, so smart and very responsible.. He is very kind and thoughtful to others. He is also very sensitive and tender hearted. He is such a good big brother and makes sure his brothers are taken care of. Dylan loves all sports but most of all loves to play soccer it's his favorite! His favorite subject in school is math (I don't know where he gets that from) and he loves to read. He loves to ride his 4-wheeler and go camping. But most of all he loves to play with his friends and have fun. Happy Birthday Dylan We Love You!!
