All caught up

Well I am finally all caught up. I told you I had a lot to do! Hope you enjoy what we have done so far this summer. We have alot more planned to do, so stay tuned...

Swimming lessons

Taelor just finished her last day of swimming lessons today. She did so well! Last year she wouldn't even put her face in the water, now she is swimming a little bit and will jump in the water and go all the way under. A huge step for her. I think she got my fear of water.
Tae doing the "superman" to her teacher. Then when the class was over they let all the kids go down the big slide. Tae had to go with her teacher the first time because she wasn't tall enough to go on her own, but the next time they let her go on her own. She did great. She is so excited to go to a pool now and show off her new skills!

Splash Pad

Tyler and I took the kids to the splash pad and they had a great time. How cool is a city that puts in a free splash pad at the park?! They loved using the water guns and squirting people.
Taelor getting dumped on by the buckets
Taelor and Makinley now using the water gun. Sometimes there was a line to use the guns. The kids also played on the toys. There was a ladder rope that Dennin could not get enough of. He would climb up and down and up and down. I got a few shots of him with his concentrated look. He always has his tongue sticking out! It is so cute.
We let the wear themselves out and then took them home for a nap. You cant beat free fun in the sun!

Castle Park

My friend told me about this cute park in Kaysville. They call it Castle Park. I thought my girls would love it since they are into the princess stuff. We picked up my mom and off we went. The kids had a ball. It is such a fun park. The kids ran all over the place. I chased them all over, pushed them in the swings, then I played the rest of the time with Jace in the shade!
Dennin loved this chair swing.
Taelor and Makinley in looking out of their boat.
The kids loved this tire swing, so did I, it holds three kids and only one swing to push!! What a fun day we had. Well have to go back again.

4th Fun

For the 4th of July we spent the day at West Point Park. My whole family goes there every year, mostly because at least one of my brothers in playing in the West Point Wipe-out. (a 3-on-3 basketball tourney). We walked around, let the kids play on the bouncy toys, got a snow cone, and let the kids do the climbing wall. Taelor made it up about half way and was done. I think all my kids get their father fear of heights. But she went farther than I thought she would. Dennin is a little monkey and climbed well, but he too got a little nervous and wanted to be done a little way up.

Kinley made it just about a step farther than Dennin, then down she came.
The kids all wanted their faces painted. Taelor and Kinners were a butterfly, and Dennins is a tiger. They just loved it!
Dennin and Makinley on the blow up slide.

This year my brothers all put a team in the 3-on-3 together. It is the first time ever they have played together on a team in a tournament. They asked Tyler to play with them as well. It was so much fun going and watching them play. They did really well. They were in the open division and there were ALOT of good teams. They made it all the way to the quarterfinals. We were so proud of them. I have always loved watching my brothers play ball but it was a extra treat to get to see Ty play with them. Here is Devin with his killer "Deron Williams" crossover.
Jesse (in the gray shirt) posting up.
Tyler looking to take a shot
Jaxon driving to the baseline!
After the tournament was over we went back to my moms house to cool off and clean up. We then took off to get our spot at the Clearfield fireworks. We grabbed some dinner and had a picnic. Tylers parents and brother and his girlfriend came and joined us as well. We played some games and visited and waited for the best firework show in the state. Lets just say that Clearfield fireworks NEVER disappoint!Makinley and Grandpa waiting for the fireworks to start.
Ty and I with the kids and Devin and Lexi. Lexi is going to be my new sister-in-law! She is so cute and we just love her. My kids cant get enough of her and Dennin has a major crush on her. He calls her his girlfriend! So cute!
Here is Jace with Grandma. He is such a happy kid. He kept trying to grab the camera. I'm surprised the picture actually turned out.
And of course here is the cherry one the top! The show was awesome as usually and it was a great ending to a awesome day...my favorite holiday!

Bear Lake Bummer

Our first trip up to the lake this year was not as enjoyable as it usually is. We had the condo for 4 days and were very excited for a nice getaway. We got up there in the evening, cooked dinner, played on the toys for a while then off to bed we went. That's when the fun began..... Jace had a terrible night. He was up crying most of the night and we pretty much spent it on the couch. The next day we got ready and off to the toys again we went. I noticed mosquito's that morning and thought it was odd. I sprayed the kids down but it didn't help. The mosquitoes were EVERYWHERE! I have never seen mosquitoes like that in my life! Then we decided to head to the pool since the lake water temp was only in the low 50's. The kids did enjoy swimming, when we were not swatting at bugs.
That night, Jace slept a better. The other kids on the other hand and been bitten a few times and were itching. Plus I had no itch medicine. That next morning when Jace got up he was crying like he was hurt and he wouldn't let me put him down, and he was acting funny, after a good inspection found out it was his left leg that was hurting him. We couldn't touch it, he wouldn't put any weight on it, he would crawl with it funny and would cry. We didn't know what had happened so we decided to pack up and head home. While I was packing up, the kids went to the toys again and to say goodbye to their cousins. In that short time they were eaten alive by the mosquitoes. I was kind of glad we were leaving just for that reason. When we got home, we took Jace to the Doctors. They checked him out, did x-rays, and said he had a soft tissue injury and to watch him. After all was said and done, Dennin had 6 mosquito bites, Makinley had about 10 (and she is allergic so she swells up 10 times the size) She had two on her ankle and it looked like her ankle was broken. It was swollen up and bruised and she couldn't even walk on it without limping it hurt so bad. Taelor was the winner though with 25 bites. Poor girl. Needless to say my kids were miserable for the next couple of days till they recovered. It took Jace over a week and a half to be able to use his leg again. Still a mystery to us. Oh well, maybe next time will be a little better.
Here is Jace at the Park. He loves playing with the sun shade.
My kids love to swing!!

Slip N Slide!

Devin called me the other day and wanted the kids to come down and play with him on the Slip N Slide. Devin is just one big kid!! They had so much fun, and I laughed so hard at them. Dennin was a pro. He did several 360s and didn't even mean to. Just another fun day in the sun.

Yes, that is my 21 year old brother going down the slip n slide. He just about ran over Dennin. I have the best brothers ever!

Catchin up

Are you ready? You better get comfortable...I had a lot of catchin up to do, and I'm not done yet. Enjoy what we have been doing this summer, and there will be more in the coming days. Get a snack, it could take a while!

Trains, Trains, and more Trains

A few friends of mine from our ward decided to go see the Disney Train at the Union Station and invited us along. My kids were so excited. We got there and it was a mad house. I could not believe how many people were there. We went to get in line (which was amazingly long) and the lady working there told us it was about a 2 hour wait. A 2 HOUR WAIT! Are you freaking kidding me.....to see a train..... I didn't even have to wait that long to see the princess at Disneyland. We quickly decided that it was not even remotely worth standing in line with 9 kids under the age of 7 with. So we walked past the train and got our picture with the kids instead and then we went to see and play on the other trains parked at the station. They kids really didn't seem to care and had fun on the trains.

The kids loved climbing on the trains and steering them and trying to look in the windows. After we went over to the fountain and let them play in the water. The kids went home wet, tired and happy. Despite missing the main attraction we had a lot of fun on our little trip to the Union Station.

Family Pics

I forgot to add these pictures we took the night of my Grandparents anniversary to that post, so I am doing them now. All the family's took some pictures since we had everyone there.
All the Reids.
Here are Grandma and Grandpa with all their G-G Babies. 10 in all and one more coming in October. What a handful they can be!
Where it all started. My Grandma and Grandpa, my mom and her two sisters, Cheryl and Jana.

50th Anniversary

In June it was my Grandma and Grandpa Schiffman's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a nice dinner for them at my parents church. It was really nice. We had some great food, and tons of laughs. My cousin did a wonderful slide show of pictures from my Grandparents lives, many I have never seen before. My Grandparents are amazing. I just love them. They are so good to us and are so generous with their cabin and they just love their "G-G Babies" (great-grand children).

I love this picture of my two beautiful girls. I cant help it....look at them, aren't they cute!!?
Here is Devin with Jace. He is such a great uncle. We had a great time with our family. Happy 50th Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa. I hope me and my sweetheart can have such a wonderful evening with family on our 50th, as long as he isn't sick of me by then!

We made it up to the cabin for the first time this summer. As always it was a great time. My family was already up there when we went up on Saturday for the day. We will do the overnight thing when Jace is a little better sleeper. We got up there early. It was a little cool, but we didn't let that stop us from having fun. We rode the 4-wheelers and the Mule"Jenny". Don't ya love Makinleys smile! We saw lots of deer and moose.
Jace and I enjoying the sun and the fresh air. This was his first trip to the cabin. He seemed to really like it so far. He really liked looking at the moose and elk head hanging inside the cabin.
Dennin and my dad playing a little horseshoe. Dennin loves to do anything with games or sports, it just amazes me. He played for along time, and was fine playing it by himself.
Here we are doing our famous biscuts on a stick. Our favorite after dinner treat. Taelor is getting to be a pro at them, and loves that she can do them on her own now. The kids also enjoyed some smores as well. They are always a yummy, messy treat.

Grandma and Grandpa holding Jace. They are so awesome to let us use there beautiful place. We just love the cabin and cant wait for more trips up there.
Tyler is showing Dennin the water trough. This is filled with water and moose and deer come down and drink from it all the time. There is also a salt-lick (behind Ty on the stump) that the animals enjoy as well. This is just above the back porch so we can get up close to the animals. Its great.
