Zoo Trip

We took the kids to the zoo a couple weeks ago, and they LOVED it! Havyn was super impressed with the birds, and really that is all she was really interested in. The boys on the other hand were not all impressed with the birds, but loved the penguins. Every time we go past water now, Kai is just certain there is penguins in the water, and he will fight with you if you tell him otherwise. Koen has been giving anyone and everyone who will listen a tour of what he saw at the zoo with this map brochure he got from them. When we left he tried to return it to the lady in the ticket window, and to his surprise they said he could keep it! You would have thought they'd given him $100, he was so excited. His poor great grandma has been the recipient of most of his ramblings about the different animals at the zoo. Secretly, I think she has enjoyed these conversations, and she will probably read this, so I am sure I will find out.

Kael Got Blessed (finally)

Amongst Tyrell student teaching and working at Texas Roadhouse Kael's blessing got postponed until his student teaching was completed, and he had more chances to have a Sunday off. Now we have been to church so much they even asked us to speak next week. I'm not really looking forward to that, but at least we have been around enough to be noticed, and get a chance to get Kael blessed.  We had so many family and friends come to support us, and be a part of this special experience for Kael. Kael is the first of our children to not cry through his blessing, and looked like an angel, as my mother said. He is such a sweet baby, even through all the fussy times he has. He is very loved by his parents, extended family, and especially his siblings. This morning I got woke up by Koen telling me that Kael was poopy. I asked him where he was, and he was like "ummm hims in my room, but don't worry I didn't drag him there". Sure enough he was there watching Sesame Street with Koen.  It was so cute. Koen went in there and told him that mom was going to come change his butt in the cutest little voice.

Havyn

So the other day I was looking at Havyn and thinking that she has grown so fast! It seems like her time as a baby was so short. I don't remember a whole lot, which I found strange, but then I remember that since she was born we have moved twice and had another baby. Life has definitely been a ride the last 18 months. She has finally started to walk, and is starting to talk more and more. She still doesn't say a whole lot you can really understand, but as I found out the other day she knows way more than she wants us to know she knows. She and my niece Pyper were playing on the floor, well actually they were fighting over some keys, and Havyn got all made and said "No, let go!" I had never heard her say let go, and the clarity was so distinct. I think she is hiding a few words in that cute little body of hers. I also look at her and almost can't believe the way her life started out. She was so tiny and sickly! Now you would never guess it!
