Karate

Luke has been in karate for a few months.  He LOVES it!  Here he is testing for his cub yellow belt.

He broke his first board!

He passed his test and actually earned his cub green belt instead of yellow!  Way to go bud!

My gross little girl.

Addie came rushing in the house excitedly yelling for me to come and look at what she found.

What could it be?

Yes it's a dead mouse!  The poor thing drowned from all the rain.  Lovely.  Besides picking up dead animals, she loves to pick her nose, play in the dirt, and anything else nasty you could imagine.  We love her though!

First day of school!

Luke started Kindergarten on September 1st!  I can't believe how fast time has flown.  Here he is ready to go.

Transformers!

My sister-in-law Wendy and I carpool on different days.  Here is Luke with his cousins Isaiah and Annabelle.

Getting off the school bus.  I could hardly wait for him to get home!  He loves school and is doing very well.  We're very proud of him!

Grandma Visits!

In August, (yes I'm WAY behind) my mom visited us for a week.  We did a lot of fun things with her.  We went to the Tennessee Aquarium one day. Here is a great view of Downtown Chattanooga.

The kids waiting for the bird show to start.

Watching the fish swim.

My mom got to be apart of the show.  This bird was trained to take (and give back) money!

Watching the fish swim in the Ocean Journey section.

We went down to Marietta and visited Uncle Chad and Aunt Danielle.  The kids went swimming in their apartment complex pool.

We also went to this cool place where you can paint pottery and they glaze it for you.  This is Addie's piggy bank I painted for her.  I did it because I wanted it to look nice!  Addie painted a plate for grandma.  What do you get when you mix purple, pink, green, and black?  The ugliest plate in the world!  I forgot to take a picture, but that is exactly why I painted her piggy bank!

This is Luke's piggy bank.  He did a great job.  He has a pirate-themed room and loves bones, so he was excited to paint it his favorite color.  The kids had so much fun with grandma and can't wait to see her again!

FLORIDA!!!!

We went to Destin, Florida for a long weekend.  It was so nice to not have to cook, clean, workout, or think!  We had such a good time.  Here are a few of the many pictures we took.  Warning-picture overload!

Toes in the water, toes in the sand...

My lovely over sized J-Lo beach had to keep the sun off my face.

Luke diving for his dive stick at the pool hotel.

Luke wanted to take a picture of me.  I HATE my picture being taken, but I can't resist his sweet charm.

We went to the beach three days in a row, and this is all Luke did.  He stayed in the water 4-5 hours a day.  There was a tropical depression, so we had some great waves for body surfing.

Addie was a little intimated by the 4 foot waves, so we built sand castles.

We went to eat at this cool beach-side restaurant.  Addie took a power nap while we were waiting for out food.  Tyson got all-you-can eat fried shrimp and I ordered shrimp tacos.  They were AMAZING!

Luke coloring.

Luke showing off his obsession with lemons.  The kid LOVES to eat them!

Addie's porky toes in the water.

We went back to the beach to walk around one night and found some neat places for pictures.

Me and the kids in the water.  The ocean was finally calm on the third day.

Addie wanted us to make her a "mermaid".
I was walking fast, as usual, down the stairs and Addie was trying to catch up.  She fell face-first onto the concrete steps.  I felt like a world-class parent.
We had such a good time.  I love Fort Walton and Destin and highly recommend going there to anyone.  The beaches are clean and the sand is white and soft.  We had a great time and look forward to going there again someday.

Happy 4th of July!

Chad and Danielle on the tube.
We had a fun-filled weekend packed of boating, fireworks, eating, and more boating.  We went out on the Tennessee River on Saturday.  On Sunday, we went to church in the morning and then ate all day before shooting off some fireworks at night.  We went back out on the boat on Monday for some more tubing and wake boarding!
Me riding the tube like it's a bull.  Tyson kept driving straight (LAME!), so  I had to make the ride interesting!

His back flip.

BIG AIR!

Luke and Addie before church.

I was making cupcakes and they were using my frosting tips as tiger claws.  I thought it was pretty creative.

I had them give me their best tiger faces.

Luke is 5!

Luke turned 5 on June 14th.  We had a small party and didn't invite anyone over this year.  I made his cake small and simple, so there would be no leftovers!  Luke is excited to be 5 because now he gets to go to the "big school"!
Luke's Batman birthday cake.

Getting ready to blow out the candles!
