Finished

Have I ever mentioned that I did not like running? Well, if I haven't now is definitely the time to mention it. I have learned a lot through running. Perseverance is tested, fears are put aside and ya know sometimes it hurts just like life, but there is a finish line. I still don't like running but I like the lessons learned and the finish line. I ran a half marathon yesterday and the best part was seeing the kiddos on the bridge near the end. Here they are finishing with me and I even got a medal to prove that I never have to run that far again!

Sewing

I wish I could sew. Before the wedding Kenzie asked me to make a little flower girl dress for her doll. Yeah...I got some sleeves made but have no clue how to attach a sleeve to the outfit.....etc, etc. I can sew a straight line but that is about it. My sister in law's mom sewed theses dresses and a matching one for their doll. They were soooo cute. I did get some advice, "try using a pattern". I should probably try that since I have no clue what I am doing.

More shottings

This time it was in Illinois so it shouldn't seem close, right? Except DeKalb was the town I was born in and lived until high school and my brothers graduated high school there. So, seeing the pictures, I know exactly where things are and I took a brief summer class and I am pretty sure it was in that auditorium where the shooting took place. I am sure I don't know any students at NIU but I know lots of people in DeKalb still. I cannot imagine in my home town of 30,000 people that this happened. (It is much bigger now). The world needs Christ!

My heart goes out to you.....my friends in DeKalb!

2 Tuxes, 1 flower girl--Priceless

A fun Underwood family event. A wedding where all three kids are in it. I am so happy for Jeremy and Mary and honored that our kids got to participate. It was a little stressful getting them all ready, praying that they behaved and then not getting a good family picture of us.

The kids had fun especially run wildly around the dance floor and weren't ready to leave but a very tired Mommy and Daddy were. Congrats my friends, we are looking forward to growing and sharing our lives with your "new" family as well. Can we spend the next week on a cruise too?

Guilty

Is it bad that our children are sitting in front of us during the Superbowl so excited for the Patriots and we are behind their backs cheering for NY? Just wondering. I am feeling a little guilty but we were careful to say that the Patriots were playing well too. (Another sack---Yes!!) But I will say I know how it feels when you are passionate about a team and someone else who doesn't care about the other team....rubs it in!

When Rylan said that he would never be a Patriots fan again because they lost, I just suggested that he never start to like the Cubs! Big disappointments!
