32 Weeks Pregnant!

Wow I have grown!! I can't believe how much bigger I am from 28 weeks. I guess I don't notice it since I see myself everyday but the pictures prove it! Only 8 more weeks to go! I like to think my outfit makes my belly look bigger than normal. Oh and today some woman said I was carrying really low and she thought i would have the baby within 2 weeks. I told her, "She better not come in 2 weeks because I have 8 more weeks to go!"

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas this year. We stayed here in Austin by ourselves. I was a little worried thinking we would get homesick without being around our families but we have a fantastic time. On Christmas Eve we went to the Dials House and had dinner and treats with lots of other families, including John's aunt and uncles family. There we had a buffet of foods to choose from, sang Christmas carols and the children reenacted the Christmas Story of our Saviors birth. Here are a few pictures from the Dial's barn.

Here we have our Mary coming in on the Donkey.

Baby Jesus in his manger with the Wise Men's gifts surrounding him.

Our Three Wise Men who sang songs.

Here we are in the barn with the pitchfork!

After the Dial's House we went to Jay and Angela VanDerwerkens and read a few Christmas Stories, ate some rice pudding and talked about Christmas Day. We left and came home where we read in the scriptures the story of Christ's birth. We then cuddled by the Christmas tree and watched some sports. Christmas morning we woke up late, opened our stockings and presents and just relaxed watching TV. John got some UT Basketball tickets, 2 guns, a tie, a basketball, and a few other things. John got me some books, movies, a hand mixer, a rolling pin (which is the only thing I actually asked for) and a Mobile DVD system. It will be perfect for when the baby is a few months old and can watch movies in the car and on airplanes. Overall I would say it was a successful and spoiled Christmas for our family!

Thanksgiving Fun

So I've been meaning to post with details about our trip to Utah over Thanksgiving. We had tons of fun. Here is a quick run down of events:

We arrived in Utah early Saturday morning then drove straight to Jim and Claudia's House for my baby shower. Julie and Wendy threw it and did an amazing job! It was so much fun seeing family and friends. John went to the Utah vs. BYU Football game (very sad outcome) with Jim, Doug and Alex. We ended the night by going to Park City with Brian, Christina, Doug, and Charisse. We had so much fun with them. It was like a big family sleepover where we had fun telling stories and laughing at old memories.

Here we all are the next morning leaving the timeshare for church.

Tuesday Christina and I got pedicures while John went golfing with some friends. Later that night we went to a work party/reunion with all my old Nu Skin coworkers. We had lots of fun talking and reminicing.

On Wednesday, John, Dad, Jim, and Alex went shooting. John and Dad had a little too much fun shooting 4 different kinds of guns. John came back and told me that my dad is a great shot and he wouldn't want to do anything to "piss him off". I laughed and said "Well you better do what I say then!"

We had Thanksgiving at Wendy and Aaron's House with the whole family. After we had a mini birthday party for Mom, Spence, and Kenzie where we played pictionary (girls won of course) and had lots of treats.

On Friday we went up to Logan for a birthday party for my nephew Gavin and family pictures. We stopped by Aunt Barbara's and had fun talking with her and her daughter.

We sprinkled in visits with family and friends throughout the week and had a wonderful time (oh and we ate at Cafe Rio about 3 times as well!)

Saturday we left to go home. It was bitter sweet to leave but I was ready to be home in my warm Austin, TX.

Christmas Party

My office, Hellas Construction, had our work party last week. It was at a nice restaurant and of course there was a lot of food, socializing, prizes, and alcohol. People just crack me up when they are drunk and everyone is so happy at Christmas Parties (especially when there are prizes involved)! This year I won the huge TV!! It's a LG 47" LCD TV. It's super nice but the only problem is..... we already have a 52" LCD TV! So John and I keep trying to find a spot for it but it's too big for our room and the guest room. Any thoughts or suggestions?? Maybe we can hook it up to the computer and use it as a monitor? Haha, just kidding. Here is a picture from that fun night.

Some other people got fun prizes such as trips to Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and gift certificates. There was no table dancing like in the past (the last 2 years there was some table dancing and both restaurants went out of business later on in the year. We like this restaurant so we didn't want to jinx it)! Overall it was a fun night and John got to experience my work crowd for one night... It's pretty crazy!

28 Weeks

John and I will have a baby in less than 12 weeks! I can't believe it! If everything goes my way, I will deliver her February 12th (we've had a talk and I think she's agreed to come early) so that means we have a little over 2 months left. I had a doctors appointment yesterday where they had to draw my blood for gestational diabetes. So far they haven't called me and no news is good news. I'm measuring at 29 cm and her heart beat is a strong 140 bpm. Last night she was going crazy causing little mini earthquakes inside me. John watched and was amazed at how she shook my whole belly! It was hilarious. I've been having Braxton Hicks for the last couple weeks and I'm starting to have some back pain. Just some of the joys of pregnancy! Overall life is good and we are keeping busy! Here is another picture to document my growing belly!oys of being pregnant!

King of Naps

I just had to post this picture of John because he is too cute while sleeping. You can tell he has been watching sports because the remote is still held possesively in his hand.

Cancun Trip Continued!

I am going to finally finish my post of Cancun! Yea!!!

Day 4

We went to XCaret which is like a water park but without the slides and stuff. Instead you can swim with dolphins, scuba dive, snorkle, go to the beach, there's a zoo, underground rivers, etc. We decided it would be a leisurely day of just drifting down the river, hanging out on the beach and seeing the sites. We first drifted down the underground river with our snorkle gear and it was cold but refreshing on a hot day. We saw lots of sinkholes and John had a lot of fun exploring around. At the end there were lots of fun colored fish to see. After that we were starving for lunch so we ate at a Mexican buffet. There was a Mariachi band playing to serenade us and the food was good. Next we explored the zoo areas and saw cheetahs, cougars, and panthers. Then we went and saw hundreds of butterflies in the butterfly enclosure. We were hot again by then so we went to the beach and floated in innertubes. By now it was getting late so we got ready for the Mayan Extravaganza! We watched a horse show to pass the time then went to the Theater. The show was amazing. If you go to XCaret don't miss the show!

Day 5
Today we decided to take it easy and just hangout on the beach and at the resort. After a leisurely day of napping and tanning, we went to downtown Cancun and realized it wasn't really the place for 4 white Americans at night (although John was loving it and reliving his mission in Santiago). We grabbed a taxi and headed back into the tourist area and were safe for the rest of the night.
Day 6

We went to Chichen Itza next. Chichen Itza are Mayan Ruins, one of the new seven wonders of the world. It was interesting to see the architecture and try to make connections and imagine places in the Book of Mormon.

Day 7

We went on the Jungle Tour in the morning and got to drive out own boats, John and I in one with Mom and Dad in another. Dad got all crazy and was cutting us off and breaking all the rules but that's to be expected if you know my dad. We then went to a reef and anchored the boats and snorkled for about 1 hour. We saw a lobster, trumpet fish, baracuda, lots of other colorful fish and I'm pretty sure I saw stingray on the floor. I was too scared to get any closer so I kept going. We then just hung out until our pirate ship dinner! We boarded the ship with Captain Hook and had so much fun dancing and singing with the crew and passengers. John was picked to represent the USA so he had a dancing competition with other men representing their countries. When it came to the beer drinking competition he graciously stepped down and gave the spot to another man. We got as many Miami Vices as we wanted and had an amazing lobster dinner. After dinner I got up and sang ACDC's You Shook Me All Night Long and received an encore which I declined. Then Captain Barbosas Ship attacked our ship and the crews were swinging from ropes back and forth between the ships and fighting with real metal swords! Sparks were flying and Captain Jack Sparrow made an appearance. It was so much fun! It was a perfect ending to our week in Cancun.

Day 8

Today we woke up and had to go home. It was sad but I was kind of glad because it was so humid down there you feel damp a lot of the time. After saying goodbye to mom and dad we boarded our airplane and made it home with no problem. Cancun was so much fun that I would recommend everyone to take a vacation there!

Bargain Corner

So my sister-in-law Kenzie puts her fabulous purchases where she saved lots of money on her blog. I thought I would follow suit and put my purchase of my new coach purse on here. Now anyone who knows me knows that I hate to spend money. John has been bugging me to get a new purse because my other one is falling apart (which I have loved thanks to Tina). We were at the outlets yesterday and decided to step into the coach store. They had sales going on of 30, 40, 50% off purses and other items! So this purse was originally priced at $269 marked down to $199 at the regular outlet price. Then it was 75% off because one of the snaps is broken on the side (decorative rather than functional). I thought well I don't care I'm getting it! So I bought a $269 coach purse for $50! I was so excited so if anyone in Austin wants to head over to coach their sale might still be going on! Happy Shopping!

168 Days Pregnant

I had my doctors appointment this week and everything is just great! The baby's heart beat is good and she kept kicking so it was fun to hear that in between heart beats. This last month my stomach just popped so I look pregnant no matter what I wear. Everyone at work can't help but rub my tummy everytime I walk by. A few of the women keep asking me to lift my shirt so they can see my actual belly! I'm thinking about charging for the "peep show". I'm still fitting into my regular shirts and pants so no maternity clothes yet!! Yea! I feel her move all the time. She loves spicy food, watching football with dad, and when I rub my tummy she falls asleep. Today, John picked out his first outfits for her and he was so excited. He couldn't get over how soft the fabric was and she just had to have it. Overall life is great and we can't believe how fast time is flying!

20 weeks Pregnant

So I an now 20 weeks pregnant. I can't believe I am halfway. Already I can't sleep through the night (I partly blame John because he moves so much and is always throwing an arm or leg over me), I have to use the restroom all the time, I eat 6 meals a day, and I'm losing my mind. But other than that it's been great!! I can feel the baby move now. Yesterday was the first time I really felt her move (I guess you could say I finally recognized what I was feeling as her moving). Today she was very active and moved after every meal. She must like food like her mom! John is excited and puts his hand on my belly to rubs her because he's sure she wants to be rubbed and pampered just like him. It's been fun but I'm not looking forward to getting huge and being uncomfortable all the time! It feels like I have forever left but it's still not long enough! Well here's the picture of me from tonight. I'm at my largest and John says I've doubled in size in the last week! I'm still in normal clothes but today I used the rubberband method on my pants. So much more comfortable! Well, I'll post some more pictures in 4 more weeks!

Cancun days 1-3

So I'm finally getting around to our Cancun trip. It was so much fun!! When we were on the plane thinking "Are we actually going to Cancun?" We planned this trip in March so it's been a long time coming! We got to the timeshare at 11:30AM so we had all day to play until Mom and Dad arrived. We checked in then just played at the beach for a few hours. It was a perfect way to start our fun filled week of craziness!

Mom and Dad got stopped at the airport by timeshare people and they bribed them to go to a timeshare presentation the next day. So on Sunday we went to a 9AM timeshare presentation but then after 2 hours we got hooked up with all these free things just for sitting through the speech. We spent the rest of the day at that all-inclusive hotel and the boys got massages while mom and I got facials for free of course. We pigged out on Miami Vices and all the food we could eat and lounged by the pool and beach until we ate at the hotels Japanese Steakhouse for dinner. It was a fun day to experience the all-inclusive aspect of a hotel.

Monday we went on a fun boat ride to Isla de las Mujeres (free thanks to the timeshare presentation). There was dancing, entertainment and drinks on the way over. Once there we went over to swim with the dolphins (again free). When I say we I mean John, Mom and Dad. When you are pregnant you don't get to do certain things. I took lots of pictures and John was like a little boy on Christmas morning playing with the dolphin. After that we had a quick snack then went Scuba Diving! They just put us on a boat, gave us instructions on the way to the reef (which happens to be the 2nd biggest reef in the world) and threw them overboard! John was worried because he literally had 5 minutes of instructions before his first time scuba diving but he was only 30 feet deep and with other people so he ended up loving it. I snorkled above them and followed their bubbles wherever they went. There were so many fish up where I was so I can only imagine the amazing things they saw at the reefs down below. We then ran to catch the boat back to Cancun and literally fell into bed that night. Well I'm tired so I'll have to finish the rest of the week in another post. I'll also make a slideshow so you can see lots of pictures instead of just a few. How cute is John in his little scuba diving outfit!?

Pretty in Pink!

Well, as you can already tell by the color of my blog it's a girl! She was not camera shy at all during the ultrasound. She was showing off her curves and cute little booty but wouldn't let us see her face or even her profile (she got tired at the end, fell asleep and wouldn't budge). At one point she was doing the splits (which gave us a 100% "It's a girl" shot) but after that she snapped her legs shut and crossed them at the ankles. We are very excited and it's time to let the decorating and shopping begin! I'll put the pictures on once I scan them in. She weighs around 11 ounces and is right on schedule for February 22nd. So if any of you are having or have some young eligible bachelors, bring them on over in 20 years because she will be a cutie (but watch out, John has already bought his shot gun)!

Vacation Fun

John and I are headed to Cancun this Saturday for a week of fun in the sun! We don't have any set plans while we are there. We are thinking of going to Chichen Itza to see all the ruins, swimming/snorkling with lots of fish, and swimming with the dolphins at X-Carat. Has anyone been there that has any trip advise or must do activities? Let us know!!!

Bad Eyes

To accomodate an old friend with bad eyes (Jim), I have changed the background to make it easier for him to read. I chose the color green because I feel it is a neutral color for the baby. On September 29th we find out the gender of our little bundle of fun/joy/our lives are over. Be expecting a pretty pink or manly blue later that day. Feel free to make a guess at the gender!

Baby Bump

I've had a lot of requests for pictures documenting my pregnancy so I thought I would put the pictures on here. John took this picture a few minutes ago in one of my tightest shirts so you can see my baby bump at 16 weeks. I will add a picture every 4 weeks so you can see my belly get ginormous. I've noticed when I wake up in the morning there is no bump, but as the day goes on it grows and grows. By bed time I have a full on belly but after sleeping through the night I wake up to no belly! I am starting to get comments from excited coworkers saying, "Oh, look at your belly getting bigger!" It makes me feel like a fatty. If any of you have good stories to share, please do. I could use a good laugh. Well, I'm going to go eat something (hungry like normal).

San Diego Trip

John and I went to San Diego in August for about 3+ days and that is my blog page inspiration. We had a lot of fun and hung out with just family the entire time. The whole trip was just a relaxing, easy going vacation. We went and got Massages, we swam, went to the beach, went out to eat and just relaxed. John and Dad tried out surfing on Friday (the waves were so big I'm surprised they even got out them). After surfing the boys decided it was time to boogie board so Mom, Dad, John and I went boogie boarding for a while. Dad almost ran me over and I think there were a few other near fatal accidents but we had a good time. Saturday we went up to Mission Viejo area for John's sisters reception. Her new husband is from Trabuco Canyon so we went up early and hung out with the family for a while. It was nice to see both sides of the family in 1 trip. Christina was so beautiful and happy.
