Fathers, Fun, and Fishing

Father's Day Weekend turned out to be a fantastic time! I asked Bryson what he wanted to do on Saturday since we had no plans and he made the mistake of saying, "Well I don't want to waste it away....let's do something". And boy did we! We did entirely too many fun things (Ihop, Dollar Movies, Golfing, Swimming, and Dinner Out) and we were exhausted and looking forward to spending time with family relaxing on Sunday! We went to church with Matt and Kena then headed to their house for a delicious lunch and to watch the kids play on their fun water slide!

They didn't like me making them stay in their church clothes to take pictures. They look so cute though!!!
Two little mini Brysons! My sister always says she doesn't know how a mini girl version of Bryson could be so cute :)

The girls helped Bumpy open his presents!

I think Hannah is the prettiest and sweetest girl ever!

This little toot found some kind of lip gloss and was a mess!

After a fun afternoon at Kena's house we headed to Pauls Valley to visit Nana and Papa and to see Aunt B who came up from Dallas. Josie always gets to come inside when the kids come over. I think they all love this little arrangement!

Aunt B is getting married in a little over a week and it is a costume wedding. Brody and Meg had fun with part of Nana's costume!

And they sported their new shirts from Nana and Papa's recent vacation to Florida.

After a delicious dinner we were all ready to head outside!

Meg is a cheeser!

Doesn't she look sneaky!

We all had a great time fishing!

Spending time in Pauls Valley makes me look forward to when we move to our land in Blanchard. Brody and Meg love to be outside and I know they will be so happy with more room to roam and explore. And maybe some more animals to play with!

Meg caught her first fish

With daddy's help!

And got lots of loving from Aunt B!

And tried to get the donkeys to do what she wanted them to do

And I even caught my first catfish!

Pretty good size! We (Bryson and Bruce) cleaned it and have it in our freezer waiting to eat it!

And Brody worked hard to catch a big one too

So big it broke the line

Thankfully Bruce had a net and caught it again!

He doesn't give out the hugs very often so this was extra sweet

More time with the donkeys

I really think I will be getting me a couple of donkeys when we move!

And they had fun sticking their heads in the hole and hearing their voice echo

And this is when the fun ended. She lost her balance and tumbled off and landed in the pond. Thankfully it was just the edge but let's just say she got a tad messy! I threw both kids in the bathtub and from the nastiness that was left in that tub I would say we all had a great time.

I am so thankful that Brody and Meg have such a wonderful daddy! He works so hard and is so much fun to be around. And he gives us all the best gift and that is the opportunity for me to get to stay home with them and for that I will be forever grateful! We love you!!!

Princess Party

Last Friday Meg's Gymboree Play and Music was having a Fairy Tale Party. I thought that would be so fun to take Meg to. Brody and Bryson were supposed to have a guys night but when Bryson had to work late (work=golf tournament....don't feel too bad for him) Brody decided to come with us!

Meg was soooo excited to have somewhere to go that she could show off her dress up clothes!
She even accessorized herself. Brody opted to go in regular clothes!

Why shoot baskets when you can hang from the goal???

Peekaboo

They had an awesom craft room set up and they both enjoyed making knight helmets and shields!

Eager volunteer

After free play, crafts, and snacks the teachers led the kids in some games. They did a partner dance and Meg's friend Avie was her partner!

They were perfect partners because each one only had one hand free because the other hand was always in their mouths!

Learning the proper way to sip tea, pinky up!

Kiss the frog and it turns into Gymbo the clown!

Love my precious boy. Especially when he will let me take a picture of him!

Catching bubbles

Popping the bubbles in the parachute

Pop, Pop, Pop

Under the parachute trying to touch it with their feet

It was such a fun Friday night with the kids!

Dinosaur Week

After we finished our Bug Week we started up Dinosaur Week. I was excited because I had so many more activities for dinosaurs. The first thing we did on Monday was go to the library to find books about dinosaurs. We found a ton of them and enjoyed reading them throughoutthe week. She always loves when a new tub comes out! I removed all the beans and pasta and instead had dinosaurs, some fake trees and moutains, a cup of water, a washcloth for washing the dinosaurs (always a favorite activity for Meg, and some dinosaurs that grow in water!
Getting them clean
I had found a great Usbourne dinosour tracing book back at Affair of the Heart and have been hanging onto it. Brody really enjoyed this activity!
We also broke out some activities from a couple of weeks ago. They are princess counting cards I found Here! She counts the number of princesses, wands, or crowns and then puts the correct number of gems/rocks on the card. We did some Lincoln Log building trying to make a home for our dinosaurs. Yes, my kids NEVER wear clothes.
Another great activitiy from the same website was color matching dinosaurs. She loves doing these kind of activities!

We also made Dinosaur Feet. I found it in the Family Fun magazine!
We used Kleenex boxes and taped up the holes to fit the kids feet. Then they painted them, let them dry and then got to wear them around!

You are supposed to used sponges cut in triangles for the toes but we didn't have any, so pom poms had to do!

The feet were fun, but they just kept falling down when they tried to walk. Brody said we should have made them into dinosaur claws!

To wrap up our Dinosaur Week we made a trip to the Sam Noble Museum in Norman. We were happy that Gran B and the Kovash Family joined us for a fun trip! We headed to the Discovery Room first. They started off with a little digging for dinosaur bones!

Brody preferred playing with some toy dinosaurs

They all liked the skeleton

His favorite part. Being stomped by the elephant

Of course she had to do it too

Brody loves having Sterling in Oklahoma now!

Laying in a canoe made from a tree

Sterling was looking at an exhibit but we snapped a picture while the two little ones were strapped down! Its hard to contain them otherwise!

We also learned a new song about dinosaurs that is now Meg's favorite songs. Here it is in case you want to try it out! You sing it to the tune of "I'm a little teapot"

I'm a mean ole dinosaur big and tall

Here is my tail and here is my claw

When I get all hungry I just growl

Watch out kids I'm on the prowl

Some dinosaurs were very tall

Some dinosaurs were very small

Some dinosaurs flew threw the hair

Now their all gone I don't know where.

You can do a lot of fun motions to make it even more fun for the kids!
