Godard Family Reunion

The last weekend in June was the annual Godard Family Reunion.  This is my mom's side of the family and it is always something I look forward to every year.  It's not your typical boring family reunion.....it's always a ton of fun!  This year it was in Sulphur and each family rented a cabin close to Lake Arbuckle and mom and dad's house served as a gathering place!
The kids and I got there Friday afternoon and headed straight for the lake.  We met up with Kena and Matt and my mom's Cousin Jessie Lee and his family.  The kids had a blast!

That night we all met up at the Chickasaw National Park for a picnic.

The kids all had a good time trying to catch minnows in their nets

It made all of us "older" cousins so happy to see all of our babies playing so happily together

The old guys enjoyed chatting and reminiscing

Hannah did a lot of baby holding

The kids all loved Uncle Ronald (my granddad's brother) because he had chess on his phone.

Saturday morning a group of us got up early to go zip-lining.  Most of us had never done it before and it ended up being a really fun time and a really good workout!  If you ever need a great place to zipline check out the place is in Davis.

We all ate lunch at mom and dad's house before heading out to the lake.  These 3 girls enjoyed playing together.  Paisley was the sweet mediator between the feisty Vivi and Meg!

Sweet girls!

And then it was more time on the lake!

Meg really warmed up to Aunt Vickie!

And Saturday night we had dinner at an Italian restaurant in town

Then headed back to the house for Minute to Win It games Kena had put together.  And boy were they fun.  We have some fierce competitors in the family!
Brody and his buddy Ronald!

The red team members!

First competition was using chop-sticks to put M&M's in a cup.  Bryson won that one for the pink team!

Next up was seeing who could balance the most brownies on their forehead
The funniest one of the night was the elephant.  Seeing who could knock the water bottles down with their trunk!

The toughest was the golf ball challenge.  Trying to balance a golf ball on top of two others.  Think it can't be done?

Sharon showed everyone it can be done!

Puzzle race
Toilet paper wrapping was tougher than it looked.  Someone bought cheap paper and it kept ripping!

The games ended in a tie between the black team and the red team.  Kena decided a running race would be the perfect way to break the tie.  Brody went up against Billy and gave him a run for his money, but Billy showed mercy and brought the win to the black team!
The black team.  I'm pretty sure that Billy and I were the only fierce competitors on our team.  And we still won.  Not to brag or anything :)

The pink team

The red team

The winner board!

Afterwards the kids all wanted to do their own version of the games!

It was a perfect evening!

Sunday morning we all met up for a delicious breakfast.  And managed to get a pretty good group shot.  I am so thankful our family does fun things like this!  We had to hurry on home for our big vacation that we were heading off to the next day!

Summer Happenings

When we returned from our trip to Florida we quickly got into the swing of doing all the things we love about summer!
We headed to Mimi and Bumpy's house to enjoy rides in Bumpy's jeep!

And try silly stunts with our cousins!

We ignored "no swimming" signs and just jumped right in to the Sulphur springs!

And they couldn't wait to get in the lake!

We also enjoyed a trip to the zoo with friends from church!

And Brody participated in his first ever OU Football Camp.  It was sponsored by FCA and it was awesome!  He had a great time and knew a lot of the kids on his "team".

We celebrated this little sweetie's 2nd birthday.  I'm not sure my kids could love her any more!

And me either!  Those curls and those dimples get me every time!

I got brave and took four kids to a movie.  And they were all perfect!

And we even managed to squeeze in some play time at the Myriad Gardens park.

The gnomes were still there!

One of my favorite places to take pictures!

We enjoyed breakfast out by our neighborhood pond one morning

I did my annual "good wife" deed for Bryson's work and participated in the annual golf tournament's ladies luncheon.  Some how I got roped into modeling clothes from this high end store in OKC.  I even got to go for a jean fitting consultation and they picked me out this fabulous outfit.  Those jeans fit me like a glove and I loved them.  Too bad they were over $200.  Not going to happen!  It was fun though!

And that night we went back to the country club for the catfish dinner and Bryson was beyond excited to win this Yeti Cooler.  I've never seen so many men drooling over a cooler!

We took road trips with Annie (and Rosco if you look closely in the back)

And we tried out new discipline techniques for sibling squabbles (the "get along"shirt)

We sure love summer!!!!
