Day four of our trip was one that I was really excited about! We were heading south to Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons! The drive was kind of long but as soon as we spotted the mountains we knew it was worth it!
Absolutely beautiful and so amazing all the different landscapes you can see just driving a little over an hour!
Meg continued to keep herself entertained with lots and lots of selfies!
Our first stop was the Grand Teton Lodge Area to check in and get tickets for our evening dinner cruise at John Colter Bay! If we would've realized how many activities were available at John Colter Bay we would've spent a good portion of our day there!
Everyone was in a picture taking mood!
I was feeling particularly energetic that day and proud of myself for making it 5 days on vacation with my two wild ones! Although without Mimi I am sure I wouldn't have been feeling so happy!
Brody and Mimi weren't in much of a mood to walk that day so Meg and I did a little hiking to get a better view of it all. I loved all the different plants and flowers. Pictures just don't do it justice!
We then headed to the town square area. I did really enjoy this area but I wish we would've either headed to the ski lodge area or stayed in John Colter Bay. I think it would've been a little bit more fun for the kids!
But it was nice to have a leisurely lunch and just browse around at the different shops!
And we all enjoyed ice cream in the park area!
The antler archways were extremely impressive!
And we managed to find the cutest little toy store!
We had a few little bathroom issues when we arrived back at John Colter Bay that it really cut into our time there. The kids only got to wade in the lake for about 10 minutes before we had to get on the cruise! All they had wanted to do the whole trip was swim so I promised them that after the cruise we would come back and they could swim!
The boat cruise was so much fun! We met some really nice people on the ride over to the picnic area!
The kids were happy that Mimi remembered the binoculars!
This was the best meal we had the whole trip. And the view couldn't be beat!
After dinner we went on a little hike with a few of the other boat riders. We almost had made it to the top when we see people running back down the mountain. We thought maybe they had seen a bear or something but no it was the most disgusting swarm of mosquitos ever! Bug repellant was no match for these mosquitos. Everyones backpacks were covered in mosquitos and they basically had to quickly get everyone back on the boat because that's how bad it was!
Happy to be back inside the boat for a nice ride back to the dock!
Love traveling with my kiddos and experiencing all of these firsts together!
So then we headed to the swimming area at Jackson Lake so they could swim. We didn't have towels for them and it was so insanely cold!
But they managed to stay in there about 20 minutes!
And I took my favorite picture of the whole trip! But boy were they miserable when they got out.
Then we headed back to the Old Faithful Inn with this beautiful sunset as our view!
