What a wonderful weekend!

Well, it has been a really good weekend. The sun has been out, which is great- we still haven't got out much though because it's a bit windy and still SUPER cold! But it's nice to at least see the sun shining. Since my last post, I have really started being positive about the tail end of the pregnancy. Although I can't wait to hold Kallie in my arms and feel the love for another beautiful daughter, I am enjoying my time with just Kensley. According to my March 23 EDD, I will be 37 weeks on Tuesday. Officially "full term". I feel like my body has been making some progress- I've had pains (almost the whole way home from dinner last night) and other things happening that make me think labor may come before induction. Either way, this beautiful angel will be in our arms in a couple weeks. I just can't imagine how much more love will be in our home! I absolutely LOVE watching Kent play with Kensley. Makes the world seem like a perfect place :) I can only imagine him with two little girls. They are so lucky to have him as a daddy. Anyways, I'll stop being so sappy- I go in for my weekly appointment on Tuesday. Please pray for some progress!

As far as Kensley goes- she is now 18 months!!! Where in the world has time gone? She is talking more.
  • She says "I want it" to just about every thing (especially food).
  • She likes to pretend to eat her play food- so today she was coming up to me and Kent asking "want a bite".
  • She loves to watch Elmo (Melmo), Mickey (she calls him "Hot dog"), Chuggington, Backyardigans, Handy Manny, Special Agent OSO and Nemo (on the DVD in the car).
  • She has 3 different Mickey Mouses now. She is in love with him!
  • She's also starting to call Goofy by his name (she says "Doofy").
  • She goes up and down the stairs by herself now.
  • She says "nasty" overtime I change her diaper and throw it away.
  • She chases McCoy around everywhere and doesn't like to let him get out of her sight.
  • The first thing she asks for in the morning when she wakes up is her "milk".
  • She loves playing chase with her Daddy.
  • She likes to give Eskimo kisses.... this week, at least :)
  • She gives the BEST hugs--but they are very few and far between! I usually only get them if I've left her somewhere for a while and she hasn't seen me.
I am so ready for the weather to warm up so we can go outside. I'm hoping to start coloring more with Kensley once Kallie arrives. It's so hard for me to get on the floor with her now and really be "on top of my game". Once Kallie gets here, I'll be able to move faster (to prevent ingesting TOO many crayons or markers or chalk) and be able to enjoy "play time" more. Until then, I'm going to TRY to not feel like too bad of a mother when I let her just play with her dolls and McCoy all day. :-)

Attitude adjustment!

Well, this week has been great so far. Kensley's nana (Kent's mom) came up to help out for a few days. I enjoy our family coming to us because that way they really get some good, one on one time with Kensley. It gets tough when we're in Texas visiting- seems like we're spread so thin! Anyways, Liz was such a huge help to me. We got some much needed errands ran and even got to shop a little for spring clothes for the girls. Kensley came away with quite a bit of loot (thanks to Nana!). Kallie did pretty well herself. I am so ready for spring to get here! Flip flops, shorts, sun dresses...ahhhh.... the layers of clothes will go away! Not too much longer :)

Now to elaborate on the title of this blog- "Attitude Adjustment". I have been SOO ready for Kallie to get here. I am very uncomfortable and it's getting tough to get around. I feel like I've been so negative. I don't remember feeling this way with Kensley. I think I have a lot of factors that have been different with this pregnancy:

-We made a HUGE move right when we found out we were expecting.
-I don't have a gym membership anywhere. I didn't have time to work out when we first moved in. Lots of things going on. And there's not many places to choose from up here!
-Kallie has been oh so sweet in laying on my sciatic nerve the entire pregnancy! If you've ever felt this pain, you know what I'm talking about when I say it's just about paralyzing! It happens mainly when I walk. So we have gone on a handful of walks because I can't last very long. At all.
-It's winter time! UGH! The fall here was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! But when winter came, it was really hard to go outside. Now that we've had record breaking snow fall, the walking trails have been covered in snow and ice and now it's melting but there's puddles EVERYWHERE and it's still FREEZING outside... so again, we are stuck inside.

So that's a list of some of my excuses. Anyways, I went to the dr. last week (35 weeks) and I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. This really got my hopes up. (I forget to mention- I honestlybelieve I'm further along than they think...we don't have a conception date because I was still nursing Kensley when we got pregnant) Kallie is measuring about 2-3 weeks ahead. Again, my hopes were rising. I thought I would have this baby any day! I've had a lot of labor pains- just BH mainly. I never had those with Kensley. Well, I went to the dr. yesterday (36 weeks). Found out nothing new. I was hoping to get checked again, but no. I was really bummed. My dr. said he wouldn't even think about inducing until 39 weeks. When I left the office, I was in a funk. I was wanting to get a date scheduled to be induced and wanted to find out if I had progressed any. I got neither one of those. SOOOOO---as I was thinking later in the day- I REALLY need to change my attitude. I need to enjoy this time with just Kensley while I can. It won't be much longer before Kallie makes her debut. So, from here on out I am going to STOP complaining! It's only going to make these last few weeks REALLY drag by. I've got the next couple weeks planned out- we have a few music classes to go to and a couple play dates; one of the play dates will be at my house. I'm going to suck it up and just leave it all in God's hands. Kallie isn't here yet because she isn't ready. She needs to bake a little longer. I want her to get here healthy, so I'll be patient! :)

And to end this VERY long blog..... here are a few pictures from this week.

Kallie....are you almost here??

Well, at 35 weeks, I am weighing in at a whopping 156lbs!!! I can't believe I just shared that on my blog.... ugh.... it's mainly because I can't find a pen to write with to put it in my journal...and I don't want to forget! haha I was right at 150lbs when I went to the hospital to have Kensley.... so yes, I have gained more with this one.... but not too much...yet. ;-) I've been having Braxton Hicks all day. I go to the dr. on Friday- hopefully to find out I'm progressing.

Sharing a little story-- could it be a sign? :)
Our neighbor got us some type of flower for christmas. It was in a box and I was to plant it myself. Well, I do not have a green thumb- I don't grow things very well. So it sat in the box.... for a while. I was cleaning one day and was tired of seeing the box sitting around so I thought I would give it a try. What the heck. So I followed the directions and then read on the box that the flower would bloom in either 6-8 or 8-10 weeks; I can't remember which one it was now. Either way, I remember thinking to myself "oh, this will be bloomed by the time the baby gets here!". It became a little symbolic to me..... (and I was REALLY hoping I could keep it alive at this point) :-) Well, it's been growing like crazy- I'm telling you, the stalk of that thing is AT LEAST a foot tall! I looked at it today and saw the it is about to bloom!!!! AHH! Is that a sign? Is this baby going to be here THAT soon?!? Hmmmm........... I guess time will tell...... :)

Let the contractions begin!!! We can't wait to meet Kallie!

You know you're pregnant when....

I got this from a message forum that I visit a lot.... it made me laugh.... because it's so true.... :)

You know you're pregnant when....

.. you make ice cream "dinner"
.. it becomes really............really hard to wipe.
.. You hate your FAVORITE breakfast!
.. the dumbest commercials make you cry
.. you shave by doing the "guess and check method"

.. Your laces are tied over on the corner of your shoes cause that's the only spot you can reach.

.. You "crop-dust" at Target, because you have horrible gas and can't contain it

What a great Valentine's Day

Well, this past weekend was GREAT! We got to spend a lot of time with Kent. We cleaned the house some on Saturday and went to eat at Uncle Julio's. Kensley ate GREAT! It's been off and on with her lately. Some days she'll eat like a champ, some days she doesn't want anything but cereal bars :/. We ordered her a shredded chicken soft taco and she ate EVERY bite of chicken.... that was a first! Kent and I both we wondering if we could get a big huge order of it and take it home to feed it to her- or get the recipe! haha We got home a little late-- Kensley got to stay up until about 9:30. She was SO sleepy! Sunday we got up and went to church. Kent came with us - this was SO special to me. I love it when he comes with us. It was his first time at this particular church. I've visited a few times and really enjoy the preacher. Kent said he liked him too- so that's great. And of course, since it was Valentine's Day, the sermon was geared toward "Love". It was a great sermon. When we got home from church, we had a message from a florist to come pick up something for Kensley. Her Nana & Grumpy had got her some balloons and teddy bear. Luckily we were already going to make a trip over there to the Hallmark store (because I procrastinate and still needed to get Kent a card) and then I had to get groceries (Our Target is closed until further notice due to all the snow on the roof- it almost collapsed!). Kent stayed at home with Kensley while I went out and got the groceries. It's getting really tough now on this pregnant woman! ;-) Not having to deal with Kensley was GREAT! When I got home and Kensley woke up from her nap, we gave Kent his gifts. He got a picture frame to take to his office with pictures of the family, a new notepad for all his work notes and then a boot bag for his snowboarding boots. I got a new external flash for my camera! I have been wanting one for a long time now and I am SOOOOOO excited! I ordered it this morning so it'll be in Thursday. I can't wait!

As far as my pregnancy--- yesterday morning was the first morning in a LOOOONG time that I woke up not hurting. My body usually aches in the morning. My ribs are usually really sore. This morning wasn't too bad. I am SOOO ready to meet this baby girl. Her name will be Kallie!!! We FINALLY decided this weekend. We still aren't sure about a middle name. I told Kent that I really wanted Kallie and he could pick the middle name. I still haven't heard any suggestions from him----so we'll see how that goes. I may take the plunge and go ahead and get a bag made for her. I'm wanting a diaper bag with her name on it.

Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

Back from church.

Daddy was here to help me with these pictures- that's why we have such a good smile!

Kensley's First Pigtails!

I thought this was cute :) She's got her daddy's straight hair..... and it's so fine! I'll have to get some rubberbands that are smaller (I had to use mine in this picture).....

I am also trying to figure out something to do for Kent for Valentine's Day. I took a picture of our wedding rings.... who knows if I'll use this for anything, but I thought it was a neat photo

Visit from Nonnie & Uncle Kevin

Kensley has had so much fun with her Nonnie. I am really going to miss my mom when she leaves! It is getting tough to get around and it's been so nice to have her here to help out with Kensley. It's so funny- when Kensley wakes up, she immediately asks for "Nonnie" and then when we walk downstairs she is saying "Kev". I'm not sure what she's going to do when they're gone! ;)

Here are some pictures of our Kensley with her Nonnie

Daddy & Kensley.... see how deep the snow got? This is a picture from Saturday afternoon.

We made this snowman Friday evening. We had to represent Texas! (Notice the camo hat too)

My little snow bunny. She LOVES being out there (mainly because she likes to eat it!)

Blizzard 2010!

Well, this past week has been interesting, to say the least. My mom, brother and I flew in on Monday evening. We knew the snow storm was coming our way later in the week, so we tried to get a lot of shopping done for the nursery while we could. We were SO blessed at the shower and have been able to get everything we need with gift cards thus far. Hopefully we'll have plenty left over so we can use that on diapers. Two in diapers is going to be a handful! (Luckily I'm going to nurse!! That'll save some $$) :)

Our company was suppose to leave today around 1:30; however, this storm has them staying here until Monday. I know Kensley is super excited that her "Nonnie" is still here. She is glued to her! When she wakes up, she asks for "Nonnie" and then if she can't find her, she stands at the stairs yelling "NONNIE!". It's too cute. Kevin went with Kent snowboarding and got hurt. We weren't surprised.... Kevin is pretty well known for getting hurt when he does something (or much of anything!) He's got that kind of luck. So he hasn't done much of anything the past couple days.

I woke up this morning and ate breakfast- tried to take a shower and then started feeling really bad. I thought I was going to end up having a baby! Luckily the pains went away and now everything is ok. (I think)

We will be going outside in the snow once Kent gets home. We probably have 20" out there! It's beautiful! Kent will be out shoveling soon- I know he'll be exhausted! It is so thick! I sure wish we had a sled to pull Kensley in. She's really enjoying going outside. I'll add some more pictures later once we get back in. I took my camera out yesterday (it was getting dark) and most of my pictures came out blurry or overexposed! I was really bummed..... hopefully I'll get better ones today!
