I wanted to share these pictures too....

Goodness she is growing up..... :*(

Already getting into Daddy's wallet :)

Stylin'!

Sleeping Beauty

Kallie has been a big sleeper lately.... and I'm trying to soak it all in! I believe it's a growth spurt- it has to be! It's almost too good to be true. (and I hope I haven't jinxed myself) Yesterday she took a 4 hour nap- I had to wake her up because I needed to leave the house to run some errands! If I would have known she was going to sleep all afternoon, I could have left her with Kent and got a lot done! Then last night she went down at 8:30 and didn't wake up again until 8:15 this morning!! WOW! And it doesn't stop there.... she took ANOTHER 4 hour nap this afternoon. I am loving this :) I hope she sleeps as well tonight as she did last night. She's been down since 8:40.

Today has been a busy day. We got up this morning and had family pictures. I met a lady on the photography board I am on that lived in the same area as I do. We set this weekend up to get some family pictures taken. I took hers yesterday morning and she did ours today. She is still learning how to use her camera- SOOOO (as stated in my previous blog) about 99% of them were blurry. Needless to say, I was bummed. After pictures, we headed to church to hear, yet another, great sermon. It never fails that I cry at some point during church. Kent always looks at me like I'm crazy. I am really going to miss our church while we are out of town.

Here are a couple pictures from tonight. I gave the camera to Kent so I could get a picture with my girls :)

1st Family of 4 picture

Eh- it's ok. :/ All of the pictures that were taken turned out BLURRY. I was so disappointed. The girl who I did the photo swap with is very new with her camera.... however, I have learned my lesson- I will do a little more research before I agree to do a photo swap with another family. I obviously got the short end of the stick. **trying to be positive** BUTTTT practice makes perfect, right? I told her not to worry about it.... (i got about 2 shots out of over 100). She needs the practice- now she'll know what NOT to do.... unfortunately she had to learn it on us.

Bedtime fun

Last night was pretty relaxed. We had breakfast for dinner (YUM!) and then I was able to go through the girl's clothes that they've outgrown and put out bigger stuff for them (mainly Kallie). Anyways, this is what was going on while Mommy was working.....

Goodness I love these girls!

One more week!

Until we get to see our family!!! I am really getting excited :) Kensley wanted to Skype Poppy tonight- (it always seems to work out better when it's on HER terms!) I can't wait for him to meet little Miss Kallie for the first time! Se stayed busy today with a play date and then we went to the pool after Kensley woked up from her nap. She's finishing up dinner now and then we'll take baths and GO TO BED!  :)

Playing catch up- picture overload!

The mornings are a good time for me to blog since Kensley is watching cartoons and Kallie is still asleep.... so here it goes...

We've had a busy busy week last week and a busy weekend. Karissa and her kids came down last Monday for a couple days. Kensley had a lot of fun- she loves older girls and her and Hayden ended up really clicking. They became buddies. We took them to the pool to play one day. It was Kensley's first time there since the pool opened this year. She LOVED it! She's going to be a water bug this year, I can tell.

Once we got home, they kids had popsicles. Of course, it was by Kensley's request!

We also headed to JoAnn's while they were here to pick up some fabric. Karissa got a lot of new fabric as she wants to start trying to do pictures with backdrops. I also picked up a new color- I'm excited to get to use it! I bought two different pattern ones too- I'm going to take pictures of Amanda's little boy when he gets here. I can't wait!

After staying a couple days at our house, we headed back with Karissa and the kids to spend the rest of the week with them. The drive wasn't too bad (4 hours). We stopped at McDonald's for lunch. Kallie decided she needed to poop while she was eating. Ended up running out of the back of her diaper, all on the floor & my leg. Luckily it missed my shorts! She ended up wearing one of Hayden's shirts (3T, I'm sure) home. She looked so pretty in blue- but she looked just like a little boy!

We hung out at the house when we got there and Kensley got to explore all the new toys. This one was her FAVORITE! That net is the neatest thing. I didn't have to worry AT ALL about her falling off. She did great.

We also started blowing up water things for the kids. Karissa had planned a big bar-b-q for the weekend, so we were getting things ready. The kids had a blast.

The kids were super hungry after playing in the water.

We also took some pictures of Kallie for her 3 month shots. I was very impressed with how they turned out!

We took the kids to the beach one day. It was GORGEOUS outside! And it wasn't very crowded. Kensley LOVED the rides, which surprised me! It was a big milestone for her AND me! haha she's growing up. :( I forgot to get the pictures off Karissa's camera. This is the only one I took. I'll get more and post later.

Having some ice cream before we headed out.

I posted it yesterday- but here is what we did for Father's day for Kent. These are framed and will go in his office. I thought the one of Kallie turned out so cute! I wish we would have gotten one with OUT the letter too!

Here are a few from the bar b q.

I'm sure she's eating chips here..... she ate junk all day!

So that's about all I have! Our drive home was HORRIBLE yesterday. Both girls were crying. We saw a side of Kensley that we had NEVER seen before. She was very moody. In her defense, she was sleepy (she didn't sleep well the whole time we were there) We got home and were going full force until bedtime. Kensley slept great last night and so did Kallie. We are back on our normal routine- taking today as a recovery day. Whew!

I'll post all about our weekend soon!

Kensley & Kallie Update

Well, I figured I'd try to get a quick update in as we sit and watch our morning cartoons.

Kensley- she'll be 22 months this month. She is such a cutie! Her new phrase right now is "what's that?" to EVERYTHING! She loves popsicles... she could eat an entire box, I'm sure! She finishes the one she has and immediately heads toward to freezer and asks for another "sickle". She then throws a fit when we tell her "no". Her fits are quite often lately.

While my mom was here, she decided to be a big girl one night and pee in her potty!! I praised her and said "yay!! good job!". She acted like it was no big deal and really didn't even acknowledge she went. So yea, it hasn't happened again. But here's proof that she did it :)

As far as eating. She is pretty unpredictable. Her breakfast is the only predictable meal of the day. She loves her breakfast. We are pretty late eaters. Usually around 8:45-9. She then eats a snack and sometimes goes down for a nap without lunch (around 12). I usually try to get her to eat something before going down. Sometimes it's a fail and she eats lunch around 3. Oh well. Dinner is hit or miss around here. She will eat something- but sometimes it's not much at all. And she's perfectly fine with it. So I just go with it. I have always fixed her the Gerber meals and she enjoys those. Or she'll eat spaghetti with us. She also really likes the Betty Crocker suddenly salad- classic flavor. She could eat the whole box of those noodles!

Kallie- she'll be 3 months in a couple days! Where has the time gone?! Her big girl thing this week was rolling from her stomach to her back. She hasn't done it again- but Kent and I both got to witness the roll. I called him in the room because she was really getting her feet underneath her and her butt was up in the air. I wanted to show him how close she was to rolling over- and sure enough, when he got in there, she got enough "umph" and pushed herself over! She also likes to be sitting straight up! She is already in her bumbo- loves it. And we tried the jumperoo- she loves it! Not even 3 months old! I have a feeling she'll be an early crawler. Or walker!

Eating- I'm not certain how often she eats during the day since our days are so crazy. I just feed on demand. I believe she's going 3 hours. At night, she's been doing really well! She'll go to sleep around 9:30-10:30 and she wakes up around 5:30. She did the all last week and last night, she woke up at 3:30 and then again at 6:30 this morning. She does pretty good. I've got to take stuff out of her crib because when I go in there to get her, she's scooted all around and ends up hitting her head on something. That's probably what wakes her up. Right now, she's cuddled up in mommy & daddy's bed. She got to eat at 6:30 in bed with mommy. :)

And while Kent made dinner last night, Kensley & Kallie played.....

What a great poem

I am on a photography board and one of the ladies recently gave birth to her son who had Trisomy 13. He lived for 12 hours. It was such a sad, touching story. Here is her blog. She posted a poem that was so sweet- I wanted to share.

Whitney- I know there has been some stuff going on with people losing loved ones ( I am embarrassed to say that I haven't even had time to read everything you have been posting!) But I immediately thought of you and am hoping that this poem may bring peace and comfort to someone you may know.

The Busiest Day In Heaven"

It's the busiest day in Heaven

I'm planning a big surprise

To let you know I love you

And that no one ever dies

Even though your down below

And I am up above

I'm sending you my wishes

And all my angel love

It's really quite exciting

To plan this big event

For lots of gifts will come your way

And all are Heaven sent

First I'll take a bubble bath-

My splashes might cause some rain

But knowing all the fun I'm having

Will help to ease your pain

Next I'll get some pictures

In my halo and gown

So when you get to Heaven

You can show me all around

I have color crayons in Heaven

And I will draw some stars so bright

And place them in the sky today

For you to see tonight

Then Jesus will have story time

And I will sit upon his lap

He'll tell me all about you

Just before I nap

I'll awake full of energy

And play a game or two

Before I finish sending

All my love to you

After snack I'll write a song

For all the birds to sing

And know I've made you happy

With all the joy it brings

At night time I'll be tired

But I'll still hold you tight

My arms will wrap around you

And keep you through the night

And when you finally slumber

I will kneel and pray

Asking God to bless you

On this special Mothers Day

Love,

Your Little Angel

A quick time out....

I have a few minutes to blog about this past week. Kent took Kensley to get groceries and Kallie just fell asleep.

My mom and grandmother came  up Tuesday. It was SO nice to have them up here. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more- me or Kensley. It was REALLY special because Ging got to come. I am so glad she got to see our house and spend some good, quality time with all of us.

I kept telling Kensley that we were going to get Nonnie & Ging from the airport. When she saw them walking to the car, she was yelling their names and laughing and getting so excited. We got home and made the treck up the stairs. I really wish I would have thought to get a picture of Ging going up and down the stairs. What a trooper! She did great :) Kensley hung on to Nonnie like crazy when we got home. I took her out of her car seat and she immediately wanted Nonnie to hold her. They were unseperable for a while.

Then she hit up Ging. She had a blast with her. She was constantly making sure she knew where she was- yelling "ging! 'mere" (Ging! Come here) We went into Gap and she couldn't find Ging.... so she was walking around yelling her name. It was too cute. She'd walk all the way upstairs to find her when we were home. I know Ging really enjoyed getting to play with her.

Kallie also had a blast with Nonnie & Ging. She played and laughed and Mommy enjoyed having her hands free a little more often :)

Wednesday we went into D.C. It was, to say the least, an interesting trip. It's just tough traveling with the two girls now- I guess it's Kensley's age. Then add the traffic and craziness of D.C. in the first part of summer. WHEW! But I was so glad we got to take Ging around. She had never been there before. We rented a wheelchair for her- which was the best thing ever! We were able to boogie around D.C. with no problem.

Kensley really enjoyed the museum. She was running around everywhere like a little priss pot. So cute!

I dressed them in their red/white/blue in hopes to get a picture in front of the Capitol. HOWEVER, that didn't go as planned. Too many cars- couldn't get close enough to the Capitol.... and they girls were NOT having it.... I wasn't planning on being in the picture....

Here are a few other pictures I took..... enjoy!

Eating lunch on the bench at the National mall with Nonnie

Drinking her water with Ging

Hanging out with Ging.

She got wet playing with her water table.... so no clothes for her! Her favorite attire!

I'm going to try to edit this a little. We never got a good picture of all of us. I'll get it when we go visit them!

I'll post more later......
