School field trip

Kensley's class took their school field trip to Temple Hall Farms. It was cold and wet but we managed to have a good time. We went on a hay ride and had a tour to see all the animals. The place is small and there's not a lot to it, but it was plenty to keep a 2 year old busy for an hour or so :)

The infamous Kallie picture.... in her stroller or carrier....

This is a calf that the guy let each kid go in a pet. He was super nice and Kensley LOVED him! He smelled her and she thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Dora! Dora! Dora!

Ok- I'll get to the "Dora!" part of this blog soon.....

Our week flew by.... and I'm not sure why! We didn't really do too much. I had some Halloween mini sessions scheduled for Mon & Tuesday. I sent Kensley to school on Wednesday all decked out and cute for "picture day".... only to realize pictures are MONDAY. oops! haha We aren't going to buy pictures, obviously, but I wanted her to at least look cute!

It is finally starting to feel like fall up here! I LOVE it! What I don't love is the fact that Kensley thinks she has to run around in a diaper, or NAKED all day long! I am constantly having to make sure she is clothed- or make sure she isn't peeing all over the house! I am SO ready for her to be potty trained, it's not even funny. I keep telling myself that she will do it when she's ready- and I know that. But it still stinks! She pee'd twice on the floor yesterday. It got old. Fast. I finally watched her like a hawk to make sure she had her diaper on. When she takes her diaper off, I tell her she has to tee tee in the potty- so I ask her every few minutes and of course, she says "no". Then 5 seconds later, I hear her saying "oooohhhhh! Tee tee on floor!" Then to top it off- the other night she was pooping in the kitchen (in her diaper!) so she wanted me to "go away Momma". So I walked around the counter where she couldn't see me. THe next thing I hear is "oh no! Yukky!".... ugh.... she had taken her diaper off and there was poop all on the floor AND her hands. SICK! (did I mention I'm ready for her to be POTTY TRAINED?!) So, fast forward to today- she wanted her Dora panties on this morning. She wore them and actually tee tee'd in her potty TWO times! And she did it on her own- she did it and then came to me to tell me she had went. That's a good thing, right?

So aside from potty training, let's talk about Dora. That's all I hear right now. Dora, Dora, Dora..... blah blah blah. I really wanted to go crazy at the sound of "Dora" tonight! She was over-the-top with Dora today. She threw a MAJOR fit when we tried to take her Dora shirt off (this is the shirt she wears ALL DAY LONG at the house) This is what she likes to wear. She would wear it 24/7 if I'd let her.

*Side note: she ate like a COW this evening! Two bananas, a little bit of spaghetti, bread stick, apple sauce..... I can't remember what else. This picture was with her 2nd banana*

Here she is.... we are ALL Dora here.... even the book....

After a big fight, I was able to get her to put on her jeans & a jacket to go outside.... but she had to wear her "plip plops". *And don't worry- Dora is still on.... just underneath the jacket!

While we were outside, Kallie decided she was ready to go in for a little cat nap.

Sooo..... Kallie is crawling now.... AND she's 7 months today! I'll post pictures later- I need to do a little photoshoot with her :)

Here she is crawling around the kitchen. I was trying to eat dinner.... things are a lot more "busy" around here now that she's mobile.

Here she is eating..... I still haven't done any fruits. She has been doing great with veggies. I'm going to start fruits next week. I'll actually make those in hopes her bottom doesn't break out like a few weeks ago. (She has her finger in her mouth ALL the time.... maybe teething?)

And it's bathtime!

Kensley had to put a letter in her mouth too ;)

AND, I guess it's going to be a weekend thing? Here is a pumpkin Kent carved. I'm not into all the "spooky" things, but this was one of the hardest ones in the packet and he was wanting a challenge.

Tomorrow we are planning on doing some fun things.... I'll blog about that later!

Apple Orchards & Pumpkin Carving!

Today we headed to Winchester for a fun day at the Apple Orchards. Kensley had a lot of fun- mainly playing at the playground. We finally got her to go pick some apples.... our favorite was the "Nittanny" apples. YUM! We bought a sack for $6.00 and filled it full!

I had to get a picture of me picking the apples! ;)

Kallie even got to pick some apples with daddy! And I decided I needed to get her OUT Of the stroller and take some pictures.... because everywhere we go, I have a picture of her sitting in the stroller.... like this one:

just different outfits :) So I think I was successful at getting some good shots!

She loved the apples!

Kensley had to sit down next to her sister

They are so sweet!

Daddy looks like he's having a blast, huh? ;)

Kensley saw the "train" when we first came in and so she kept talking about it. We let her ride it--- she didn't really know what to think. She was ok at first......

Then here she is when they came back. I guess she was scared because she couldn't see me or Kent. Poor thing!

After her train ride, she got her arm painted. I asked if she wanted her face or arm and she chose arm this time. :) She got a butterfly that matched her outfit.

This was the play ground. She enjoyed driving the tractor.

So fun was had by all at the Apple Orchards!

On our way home, Kent said he wanted to get a pumpkin to carve with Kensley. We passed a great little place so I jumped out to grab us a couple. If you guessed the weight of the pumpkin within 1/4 lb, then you got it free.... well..... I guessed 11 lbs and it was 11.02lbs! WOOHOO! My lucky day! So Kensley got a big pumpkin and Kallie got a small one. We got home and Kensley mainly watched as daddy started cutting the pumpkin open.

She's in the back saying "oooohhhhhhh"

She's finally touching a seed.

I decided to bake the seeds. I remember doing it in school when I was in third grade- and that's probably the last time I did it! It's been a while.....

And here is a picture of the "master carver" in action

And it's done!
