After lunch, we went to Mimi and Poppy's house to open some more gifts with them. Mimi and Poppy got Camilla some clothes, a Bama bib, sippy cup, and pacifier, and a toy ball that sings. After that, Camilla and Daddy feel asleep in the recliner before dinner started.
After nap time it was time for Christmas dinner at Mimi and Poppy's house. Poppy's family from Kennedy, Alabama came in town for dinner and they were able to meet Camilla for the first time. Abby and DJ were in our wedding over 5 years ago and are now 10 and 13 years old!!! They really enjoyed getting to meet Camilla!
As you can see, we have had a very busy 24 hours but we had a great time sharing Camilla's 1st Christmas with the entire family!

Christmas Lunch
Well, we made it to Tuscaloosa for Christmas lunch at MawMaw's with Marty's parents, Mimi and Poppy, and the rest of Mimi's family. Camilla had a good time and got lots of great gifts. We also got some pictures of her with her new cousin, Drake, who is only 3 days older than her!
Christmas Morning
Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas. Well, Santa made a stop at the Vice home this year and brought Camilla all kinds of goodies! He also snuck into Camilla's room and put a baby doll in the bed with her. He used to do the same thing to me when I was a little girl!
After enjoying all of her toys from Santa, we loaded up the van to head to my parents for Christmas Breakfast (a family tradition). For breakfast, Camilla had her first spoon-feed meal....rice cereal...yummy! She has not gotten the hang of eating from a spoon but we are working on it!

Christmas Eve
Merry Christmas! Every year we pretty much have the same Christmas schedule with the 2 sides of the family. On Christmas Eve, we go to the Candlelight Service at our church with my family, open gifts at my parents house and all that is followed by a big family dinner at my aunt and uncle's house with all the cousins. This year was not different except for the exciting addition of sweet little Camilla.
She had a great time opening her gifts (with a little help from Mom and Dad). She got an activity table, train and toy elephants from Nana and Papa and a "stack a ring" and a hand knitted blanket that Aunt Kelly made from Kelly and Jonathan.
Camilla can also sit on her very own now...our little girl is growing up!

Santa Baby...
Of course we had to take Camilla to visit Santa and she did great. She was not scared of him at all...next year might be a different story!

Happy 30th Birthday Caron!
Right before Christmas we went to Ixtapa to celebrate Caron's 30th birthday. We had a great time with our friends the McCarthy's, the Price's and the Bledsoe's. Somehow I didn't manage to get a single picture of Caron...go figure!
Camilla also sat in a restaurant highchair for the 1st time like a pro!

Christmas Party
On Saturday, December 20th, we hosted our annual Christmas Party with our closest friends the DeShazo's, the Barnett's and the Bledsoe's (the McCarthy's we out of town). Every year at Christmas all 5 families try to get together to celebrate Christmas. This year it was at our home and we had a great time. This year we had several things to celebrate it was Camilla and Callie's first Christmas and we found out that John and Kim are expecting their 2nd child in July!!!! It also gave me a great excuse to get some new Christmas china!!!
We sure can make a mess!
The Barnett Family of 4!!!
Sally and her daddy!
How sweet!

Sally had lots of lovin' for Ellen...too cute!
Camilla and Callie will be joining Sally and Ellen at this table next year! Pretty soon the kids will out number the adults!
I think the table decorations and china turned out pretty nice.

Long Time No Blog
Sorry for getting so far behind on my blog. I have been so busy and just have not had time to update it recently. The combination of starting back work on November 24th and preparing for Christmas I just have not had any free time. I have posted 7 new posts today to update everyone on what we have been up to the last month. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!
Let the Parties Begin....
Last Friday, December 12th, my best friends Cameron and Caroline hosted their annual Christmas party at their home in Birmingham. We had a great time. Camilla went with us but went to bed about an hour into the party.
As many of you know, Camilla spits up a lot. Knowing this I waited until right before the party to put on my outfit and about 5 minutes before the party started she spit up all over me! Luckily Caroline had the same top that I was wearing and I was able to change into hers.
On Saturday, Camilla and I met up with my sister, Aunt Kelly, to do some shopping and eat lunch at PF Chang's. During lunch, Camilla decided to have a "blow out!!!" Let me tell you it was loads of fun trying to change her out of her messy diaper and clothes in a restaurant bathroom! Oh the joys of parenthood!!!!

Christmas Card Photo Shoot
On December 7th, we decided to start trying to get a Christmas card picture of Camilla for this year. I thought it might take several attempts to get the right picture but she did AWESOME. I was pretty worried about getting a good picture but it only took about 20 minutes we were done and had some great choices. Marty entertained her and made her smile while I tried to get the shot. She looked just gorgeous in the smocked Christmas dress that my best friends Cameron and Caroline got her for Christmas.

Roll Tide
On December 6th, Marty and I headed over to Atlanta to watch Alabama take on Florida for the SEC Championship game. Even though the Tide did not come away with a win we still had a great time.

Happy Thanksgiving
Well, I did not do a great job at taking pictures during our traditional Thanksgiving meals with my side of the family or Marty's side of the family. Maybe because we celebrated them early this year. I did manage to snap a few pictures on Thanksgiving Day. Since we already had our traditional meals earlier in the month, we decided to just grill out some steaks and have salad and sweet potatoes for lunch with my parents.

Rubber Ducky Your the One....
Camilla loves her big girl bath in her duck bath. She splashes around and plays in the water. My dad thinks she is going to be an awesome swimmer since she loves the water so much!
I'm a Big Girl Now!
On November 5th, Camilla started sitting in her highchair like a big girl. She just loves getting to sit at the table with us and play with her toys. She is still not eating baby food yet. We are going to start that when she is 6 months old.

A Box Full of Fun
On November 2nd, our wonderful neighbors, Frank and Tricia, brought Camilla a big surprise. Frank brought home 3 boxes of learning material from his work filled with books, activities, toys and games for children through age 2. It is awesome. Camilla is already enjoying the books and in the future we will pull out the crafts and games!!!! Thanks Frank and Tricia! Below are pictures of Camilla and Tricia playing in the boxes!!!

4 Months and Growing!!!!
Today we took Camilla for her 4 month checkup and she is growing like a weed!
Height: 25.5 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 16 lbs 1 oz (95th percentile)
Head: 41 cm (50th percentile)
We got the go ahead to try her on some rice cereal but we might wait a little bit longer before we start that since we are still mainly breastfeeding. I promise to post the pictures of her first attempts to eat from a spoon! It should be pretty funny!
She also received 4th shots. She cried of course but seems to be doing fine since. Marty is actually putting her to bed right now! Hopefully she will sleep all night.

Matty's New Family
As many of you know, we have been struggling with Matty since Camilla has arrived. Marty and I finally decided that he would get much more time and attention if he went to live with our friend Kaci. She loves animals and her 14 year old doggy died several months ago and she was ready for a new "best friend." She didn't want to start off with a puppy and she loves Matty ... it was the perfect fit for them both! Matty now lives with her in a small town near Gadsden, Alabama and has two new furry friends. He is doing great! Here is our last picture with Matty and and a picture of him with his new family before he went home with Kaci and Wolfe last weekend.

Alabama Homecoming...Roll Tide Roll
On Saturday,we went to Tuscaloosa and took Camilla to the University of Alabama campus for the first time to walk around the quad and look at all the Homecoming displays in front of the sorority houses. She had a great time but was exhausted by the end of the day.
This was made out of chicken wire and tissue paper!
Posing with Saban and the Bear!

Playing on the Quad...we needed a break from the stroller!
She's the cutest little Bama Cheerleader ever!
