Today, Sunday, August 31st, Camilla made her first trip to church. She went to Sunday School with Marty and me because the nursery will not take her until she has her first set of shots. She was a good girl and looked so pretty in her little white smocked dress. We didn't stay for preaching because she was getting a little restless and we didn't want to disturb the entire congregation....she has a set of lungs!

Roll Tide Roll
Yesterday, August 30th, Camilla was able to experience her first Alabama Football game...on TV of course! I think she must have been the missing piece for the Tide since they played awesome yesterday!
I thought she looked like a boy in the first Alabama outfit so I changed her into her pretty white gown with the pink elephant...that's the game on behind her!
Rolling Over...Can you believe it???
On Thursday, August 21st, Camilla rolled over from her stomach to her back for the first time. She was only 5 weeks and 5 days old!!! I definitely think she is advanced...but I am not too objective on the topic :) We were just on the floor having some "tummy time" and she pushed and kicked herself right over!!!
I am going to try to figure out how to get some video of her on here soon for all of you to see her new "trick"
Thumb Sucker!!!
We have ourselves a little thumb sucker! I think she looks too cute! I can't say that I am too surprised since Marty and I both sucked our thumbs. She still takes a pacifier because she is not able to keep her thumb in her mouth too long because she doesn't have total control over where her arms go yet!! We are also letting her sleep with her silky now. Here are a few pictures I was able to get of her.
Patty Cakes
On Friday, August 22nd, we had Camilla's "Patty Cakes" done. There is a business here in Montgomery that takes hand and feet impressions and has them made into bronze hand and foot prints so you can cherish your child's little bitty feet and hands forever. We had a hard time getting Camilla's hand print because every time they would put her hand in the clay she would make a fist...on the 5th try we were able to get a perfect hand print. It takes about 6 weeks to get them back. I will keep you updated on how they turn out. Here are some pics from our visit to Patty Cakes!!!

Camilla's 1st Beach Trip
On August 14-17, we took our first trip to the beach with Camilla and the grandparents. We went to Gulf Shores because Marty had a meeting for work and an awards dinner on Thursday night to attend. We had a great time but it is a lot different traveling with a newborn. Camilla did great on the drive to and from but was not ready for all the shopping at the outlets. We were able to get some cute pictures down on the beach and at the pool on Friday night after dinner. We also celebrated Mimi's (Marty's mom) 60th Birthday while we were there!
Moms on Call
On Tuesday night, August 12th, our friend, June Lushington, who is also a pediatric LPN came over to our house to teach us the techniques of a service she provides called "Moments with June - Moms on Call" She was able to go over with us how to start a sleeping routine with Camilla including bathing (in the big tub!), swaddling, basic baby care and more. The ultimate goal is to get your baby sleeping through the night and going to sleep on his or her own. She offers this service to all parents of newborns. We are hoping that Camilla will be sleeping through the night soon. We have not been able to truly get on the schedule since we went to the beach right after she came but I will keep you updated on our progress.
If you are interested in having June come out to your home, she can be reached at 334-224-2340 or junelpn47@yahoo.com. There is a charge for the service but I know it will be worth it when your baby starts sleeping through the night sooner rather than later!!!
Nana's 50th Birthday Party
On Saturday, August 9th, we celebrated my mom's 50th Birthday with a party! The whole family was there plus Chuck and Tammy and Cameron and Caroline....they are like family too!!! We had a great time. Camilla even had on a special outfit for Nana!
One Month Photo Shoot

On Saturday, August 9th, Camilla's Aunt Kelly and Uncle Jonathan came over to take some one month pictures of her and I think they look great!
Big Girl Bath
Camilla is now able to take big girl baths since her umbilical cord has fallen off!!! She is really starting to enjoy bath time!
Camilla's New Friends
Camilla has had lots of out of town visitors in the last couple of weeks. The first picture is with my oldest best friends from Birmingham, Cameron and Caroline, who were in town when she was born and have been back to visit! Last weekend my mom's best friend Tammy and her husband Chuck came down from Tennessee to meet Camilla for the first time. And One of my best friends and coworkers, Stephanie, came from Dothan even though she is on bed rest! I made sure she took it easy while she was here!!! Camilla already has so many people who care about her.
