Busy Monday

When we woke up this morning we had no plans and I was wondering what we were going to do with ourselves today! I got a call from a friend and she had a doctors appointment this morning so we invited Rissie to come over and play! The girls are so sweet to each other and play so well together. Rissie is only 6 weeks older than Camilla so they like the same things. We colored, danced, dressed up in beads and played with puzzles. Brandy was glad not to have to take Rissie to her appointment - they are expecting a baby in about a month!

Then my mom called and invited us to her pool to play with the cousins who were coming over. So after Rissie left, we headed to the pool to swim with Kendal, Lauren and Kate. They had a blast together. None of them wanted to leave the pool - they were having so much fun!

Biscuits Game and Pump It Up

We took Camilla to her first Biscuits Baseball Game on Tuesday night with some friends from our Sunday School Class. We sat in the lawn seats so the kids could play in the grass. Camilla had mud all over her pants before the first pitch! We had a great time.

Today, we went to Pump It Up with some friends and we had a great time. Camilla was a little small for some of the climbing jumpers so I had to help her get up them. It is a great place to go when it is so hot outside!!!

VBS 2010

Well, I survived my first year as a VBS teacher!!! It was a lot of hard work and I am EXHAUSTED but we had a lot of fun too. I helped in the younger 4's class with my friends Caron, Jennifer and Jodi. This was the first year for these kids to get to come to VBS so they were very excited and full of energy! I don't think any of us really realized how little 4 year olds know (no offense). We took for granted that they would know how to form and stay in a line. This was difficult on the first day as we traveled around the church to music, crafts, snack and recreation. They started to get the hang of it by the end of the week but it was still a challenge to get them from one place to the next. I do wish we got to talk to them a little bit more about Jesus but there is just so much to do. They all really enjoyed music. They had some really cute songs this year and they loved doing the motions to the words. FBC puts on a huge VBS. I think there were around 700 in attendance each day.

Camilla got to go this year since I was a teacher. They move around to the different activities in her class but she had fun playing with her friends and doing little art projects. She loved it. She would wake up every morning and say "Bible School fun!" It wore her out. She feel asleep in the car on the way home every day this week! I think she is going to miss going next week.

Here are some pictures for our week.

Summer Fun

Camilla is so much fun these days. Of course, we have our moments but we are having a great summer! She LOVES the water - it can be a pool or a bucket of water she does not care. I usually have to drag her away from our community pool screaming when it is time to leave because she loves it so much!  She also likes helping her Nana in the garden. She is learning so much about veggies and herbs...now we have to figure out a way to get her to eat them!!!

On Tuesday, Nana and I took her to see her first movie at the theater. The Rave is showing free movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 am through the end of July. We thought this would be a good trial run before we spent $30 for the family to go see a movie. They were showing Alvin and the Chipmunks. Nana got her a kids combo with popcorn and a Sprite. She did okay for about the first hour and then she was ready to explore the theater so we just packed up and left. I am not sure that we are ready for this yet.

I can't believe she will be TWO next month. I am starting to work on her little birthday party. It is going to have a slight Dora theme but not over the top. She loves parties so I want it to be something special and fun that she will enjoy with her little friends.

We have VBS coming up next week. I am going to be helping for the first time in the 4 year old class. I am very excited about it but a little nervous about how Camilla will do going to the nursery from 8:30-12:30 everyday! I have my parents on standby if she is miserable then they can watch her. I know most kids go to daycare everyday and love it but she is just not used to this. The longest she has stayed in the nursery is on Sunday mornings at church. I am hoping they will have some little activities for them to do even though VBS does not start until age 4.

Here are so pictures from our summer so far....
