I worry about this

What would you do?!?!? These are NOT my children, but I could definitely see this happening.

Merry Christmas

I thought we would be woken up every hour last night. Jacob was spectacular and woke us up at 7:30 a.m. He has been so excited for Christmas.

When we walked into the living room he said, "Wow! There's hundreds of presents!"

This year has been very eventful for us. Wayne had completed all of his interviews for a residency in Pathology. Through a very inspirational turn of events he switched his specialty to Internal Medicine at the very end of the interview season. That was a crazy time for us and we were scared, but it just goes to show that when you do what the Lord wants things always work out for the best.

I had big plans at the beginning of the year. I was training for a marathon, planning to vacation in Disneyworld, and anticipating Wayne's graduation from medical school followed by a little getaway. Little did we know that at the beginning of March my plans would change. We found out that our little girl wanted to come into the world. We were thrilled and scared to death at the same time. My pregnancies are not the best. This time proved no different and after a few times in the hospital for dehydration, the kids and I went to Utah for five weeks while Wayne finished his last rotation in medical school. My mom and Wayne's mom stuffed me full with the only things I could keep down -- cheese potato soup and ice cream and took care of the kids while I layed down for the majority of the day.

We were able to switch our trip to Disneyworld to just after graduation. We all had a blast. Two days after we came home we moved from Virginia to New York. We loved our time in Virginia and I will treasure the friendships I made there forever. Wayne started his intern year the last week of June and has loved it. He loves helping people in the critical care unit and it looks like that might be the final route he takes. We joke that nothing is set in stone until the actual match.

I made it through the summer very pregnant chasing my very active boys. Trevor turned two in September, Alexis was born in October and Jacob turned five on Thanksgiving day this year.

Jacob started preschool this school year. He has absolutely loved it. He is growing up so fast.

Trevor is talking about everyone and everything. He and Jacob have brotherly rivalry everyday. Sometimes in fun and sometimes not so much.

Alexis has been a joy. She cuddles right up to her daddy and falls asleep right under his chin. She is not fond of whiskers and has made that well known. We were thankful for my mom who came out right after her birth for nine days, my sister (Ali) who came out for a week, and Wayne's parents who came out for her blessing and left just a week ago.

At this time we are thankful for the birth of our Savior. We hope you are all well and hope to hear from you soon.

Alexis's blessing and a visit with Santa

Today Alexis was blessed at church. She looked beautiful in her dress. She was so alert and good! It was an absolutely beautiful blessing given to her by her daddy. I am forever thankful for a righteous husband who honors his priesthood. It is something I take for granted often and am humbled to be reminded of it at these precious times.

We also went to the ward christmas party on Saturday. It was a pajama party. The kids had a good time eating doughnuts and hot chocolate. When Santa Clause came into the room Trevor started running towards him. I thought he might be nervous, but he was stoked! Jacob was perfect and stood in line to wait his turn. Trevor tried to push right to the front. I was finally able to get him to hold still while standing in front of Santa, but behind the child who was next in line (where the parents were taking pictures). Trevor changes his mind what he wants for Christmas every time he's asked. It started with a transformer and yesterday he told Santa he wanted a Lightning McQueen.

It's snowing like crazy. We've loved having Wayne's parents here for the week. They leave tomorrow morning. Hopefully they can make their flight and get out of here. I'm not sure that will be happening if the weather continues like this.

I love my brother

How cute is this? Jacob was so happy with himself. I'm hoping this is a sign of their relationship as they get older. He loves to make her happy.

Early Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Ormsby

The boys were so excited to learn that we would be celebrating an early Christmas with grandpa and grandma Ormsby while they were visiting us. Yesterday was the big day. Now they can't wait until Christmas!

We also tried on Alexis's blessing dress. She'll be blessed this coming Sunday.

This is a picture of Alexis last Sunday. Isn't she so cute!

Jacob's party, Lexi smiles

We made paper snowmen today. Here's a picture of J's. T decided to play with toys instead.

Yesterday was Jacob's birthday party. Whew. I'm glad that it was fun and that it is done. He had so much fun with all of his friends. Everyone was so generous and he and Trevor have been playing with his new toys all day.

Alexis started to smile. It still takes a lot of coaxing, but I caught a picture of it.

Jacob held Alexis the other day while I got him a drink. She totally fell asleep! So sweet! Jacob kept telling me to please take her because her breath smelled like sour milk -- not so sweet.

My little Trevor is growing into a full blown toddler. The other day Jacob was playing with a foam sword in the basement. He accidently hit Trevor with it (at least he said it was an accident). Well, Trevor is always walking around with cars in his hands. He screamed and wacked Jacob in the head with one of the cars. He left a huge welt on his forehead. They were both screaming forever. BOYS!

Wayne is finishing up his rotation on the MICU. Every three days he has to work a 27 hour shift. I'm happy that he'll be on vacation Tuesday! Yay!

Christmas = SNOW

It is a winter wonderland in Rochester. We have about a foot of snow sitting outside and it is supposed to contine snowing throughout the next week. I don't remember snow like this since I was little and could walk over the chain link fence in my front yard. It's definitely not that high yet, but with snow for another week I think it could be. Jacob is loving the snow, but Trevor hates the wind that has been blowing the snow. The other day the wind gusts were up to 50 mph. Trevor stands dead in his tracks and screams. Needless to say, we've been inside a lot for the past few days.

We've put up the tree and most of the Christmas decorations. The kids LOVED that.

Alexis is growing. She's now six weeks old.

I still need to do most of my Christmas shopping. I guess I'll be out with the crowds!

Snug as a bug

Here's Alexis burrowed into her daddy's arm. She is so sweet. Unfortunately, she has a stuffy nose and cough right now. We're keeping her bundled up inside. The weather is really turning to winter now. Our first snow came on Thanksgiving.

Happy Birthday Jacob and Happy Thanksgiving

Can you believe that Jacob is five? I can't believe that five years ago today this beautiful boy came into my life. Wayne and I were married for four and a half years before he was born. We loved every minute of the time we had with just the two of us, but when Jacob was born our ability to love increased tenfold. He is such an amazing boy. He loves cars, trucks, trains . . . anything that moves. He is totally into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (or as he calls is Neno mutant ninja turtles). I told him if he wanted a TMNT birthday party he needed to learn how to say it right. Now Trevor thinks that Wayne and I are off of our rocker when we try to tell him that it is pronounced Teenage, not Neno. We're hoping to have his party the first Saturday in December. Jacob loves his baby sister. He is so sweet to sing her songs. Yesterday he told me that he will never fight with his little sister. Let's hope! He loves to play and he plays hard! His friends know that there's a good game of tag or hide and seek when Jacob is around. We love you Jacob!

This happy day is also Thanksgiving Day. It was my biggest fear that I would deliver Jacob after having a huge Thanksgiving dinner. Thankfully, Thanksgiving was a week later in 2002. Well, we're all rolling around here. I am so full I just want to go to sleep. This year we went to Bryan and Jaime Mitchell's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Poor Bryan was called into the hospital. We still had a ton of fun and ate until we were sick and literally tired.

This thanksgiving I am thankful for family. I am so blessed to have an amazing family. Wayne is my rock and best friend. I look at our three beautiful children and can't help but feel humbled for the incredible blessing they are in our lives. I really can't believe that I made it through pregnancy three times! That is a seriously rough time for me. I'm thankful for my family and Wayne's family. I'm thankful for health. I'm thankful for the gospel and I pray that I will be able to be with my family forever.

Sleep?

I'll be glad when Alexis decides to sleep at night. Wayne has been awesome to take her until midnight (he wakes up at 5:30 to get into the hospital). I can at least count on that time. I think she sleeps better with noise. She had nine months of crazy noise from her brothers.

Ali is out here right now with little Ryan. We've been having fun hanging out. My Dad also flew into town on business yesterday. He stopped by last night to see us and his new granddaughter. I pooped out at 9:00 last night. Here's to hoping the sleep pattern will turn around.

Thanks Mom!

My mom flew back to Utah yesterday. It was a very emotional day for me. Thankfully Wayne was off. It would have been much worse if he hadn't been home. We had some friends over to watch the BYU football game in the afternoon. That was a nice distraction.

Little Lexi is growing! At her one week appointment she was 6 lbs 10 oz (up one ounce from her coming home weight). It will be interesting what she weighs when I take her on Wednesday. She's eating like a champ -- and wearing me out in the process. She sleeps a ton during the day and is awake a lot of the night. I'm hoping that will change very soon. The boys absolutely love her. They seem to play better together after she's been born. I love listening to their conversations.

The day before Mom flew home we went to the Strong Childrens Museum. It is huge and the kids love it. Jacob could play the entire time at the train table. They just put in a new Bob the Builder exhibit that Trevor went crazy over. The kids also loved the Wegmans (grocery store). You're allowed to pick out five different grocery items, check out, and return them. They hadn't done it before, but they had a blast.

Thank you Mom! It was weird making dinner yesterday. I'm ready to move closer to family. We know we're supposed to be in Rochester, so that makes it easier. Hopefully we can get to Utah sooner than later so you can all see our beautiful new addition.

Trunk or Treat

Thankfully Mom is here. There is no way I would have been able to make it to the ward Trunk or Treat last night and the boys had a blast. Wayne is on long call for three days in a row. Of course they fell on the Trunk or Treat and Halloween. The picture of him and Trevor was taken last Saturday. I'm bummed that he won't be able to see the kids trick or treat this year. I guess it's to be expected intern year.

Baby Alexis

Our little girl, Alexis Meg Ormsby, made her debut on October 23, 2007 at 5:45 p.m. She weighed 7.0 pounds and was 20 3/4 inches long. We are all in love with our new addition. Even Trevor loves her -- which makes me soooo happy!

After a full week of contractions every 5-10 minutes apart and being dialated to a four, I asked my OB if they would consider inducing me at 39 weeks. I was so worried that all of the sudden the contractions would start to come even closer together and I wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital. She was totally fine with the induction, so I was induced on Tuesday morning.

Before I was hooked up to the pitocin the nurses put on all of the monitors. They were surprised that I was contracting on my own every 5-6 minutes. I just shook my head and said it had been going on for a week. I was hooked up to pitocin at 8:30 a.m. and they broke my water at the same time. I honestly thought I would have the baby by noon. I received the epidural around 10:30 a.m. when my contractions were strong and every 2-3 minutes apart. At 2:00 p.m. I was still dialated to a four. There was no change! The nurses thought it was crazy. At least I knew they couldn't send me home since my water was broken! At 2:30 p.m. the nurse practitioner checked me and said that I was at a five. Hooray! At 5:35 I told the nurse that I was feeling a little bit of pressure. I had no pain, just a little pressure when I felt a contraction. The doctor came in a few minutes later, saw the head and said to push. I pushed once, heard a chorus of STOP, the head's out. Now push a little . . . . that was it! It was so easy! I deserve something easy after this pregnancy! I can seriously say the delivery was enjoyable. I napped, read, hung out with my hubby, and pushed for three minutes to deliver our little piece of heaven.

My mom flew in on Thursday morning. We've loved having her here. I was out of the hospital at 10:30 and we picked her up just after 11:00. These are the times I wished we lived in Utah where our family is.

Thank you to the Shermans for watching the boys! We are in your debt!

Pregnancy news

I'm dialated to a four and 50% effaced. Too bad my body isn't in "active" labor. Oh well! The boys have been sick with fevers and coughs, so having a baby at the moment wouldn't be ideal. I must say that I am getting anxious to see this little one.

Should I post this?

I am now 38 weeks pregnant. Jacob took this picture of me. Now, please realize that he is taking the picture from the ground and I am standing up. The angle is the worst -- at least that is what I'm telling myself.

Fun with Matt, Carolyn, Q and G

We had such a fun time last night with Matt and Carolyn. They drove from Buffalo to come and have dinner with us. The kids LOVED playing with Quinlyn and Garrison. Good food, good laughs, and worn out kids. We'll have to do it again soon!

GroMoore Farm Fall Festival

Yesterday the boys and I went to GroMoore farms fall festival with a residency group affiliated with the hospital. There was so much to do and it was fun meeting new people.

The tour began with a woman dressed in a ladybug shirt. She was our leader. She sat the kids down on hay and showed them different vegetables and fun facts about them. We then played follow the ladybug and went all around the farm to a bunch of different spots. The first stop was feeding the goats. Trevor was all over it, Jacob not so much. He was perfectly content to take a seat while the rest of the kids let goats lick food off of their hands. Trevor thought it was hysterical. He loved the goats. We then went to a "fun house" where they had different displays for the kids to see. There was a little haunted house for the older kids. Jacob was all over that one, but I wasn't going to take Trevor. Our ladybug leader saved the day and took him through. He's still talking about how cool the scary haunted house was. Then off to a straw/hay maze, slide, and tractor trailer ride. The kids got to pick a pumpkin and it was topped off with a pumpkin cookie.
