2014/2015

Dec. 11th:  Trevor had his first salon style haircut.  It looks like this will be the norm for him.  He doesn't like using buzzers because it is too short.

Dec 9th: Alexis and I went to Subway.  I taught her the best way to eat a sandwich.  With chips INSIDE!!!

Dec 13th:  Alexis had her first piano recital.  She played Good King Wenceslas and did amazing!

Dec 16th:  I had an epic fail moment when I tried to tie Jacob's tie for his band concert at school.  Wayne wasn't home and Jacob needed help.  Errr.  The second attempt was better.

New Year's Eve:  Gorgeous sunset on the last day of 2014. 

Jan 2nd:  Do you want to build a . . . sandcastle?

Jan 7th:  Sunday board game day. 



Jan 19th:  Flashlight walk in the dark to celebrate Martin Luther King day. 

Jan 23rd:  Trevor had his first viola recital and did amazing.  He has a lot of musical talent.

Jan 30th:  Jacob went to his first middle school social.  His friend said, "This is the most socially awkward social I have ever been to."  Hilarious.

Jan 27th:  Jacob had braces and a palate expander placed on January 27th.  It hasn't been the funnest thing in the world, but his teeth are sure looking nice.


Feb 3rd:  Trevor and Alexis have a swim meet at Sheldon Aquatic Center. 

Feb 8th:  Alexis trying to run out the door with my shoes on!

Feb 14th:  Sharing the love with my favorite people.  Wayne spoiled me with a package filled with makeup and skin care products.


Feb 23rd:  Jacob pulling out ingredients to make something delicious.

Feb 24th:  We are weird. 

Feb 25th:  Alexis was named swimmer of the month and was given a huge candy bar.  She was thrilled!!!

Feb 25th:  Jacob accidently dropped a mug on the floor of the kitchen, put his foot down and stepped on the largest shard of glass.  He deeply cut his foot.  We ran to the Emergency Room where he received 13 stitches and was put on crutches. 

Feb 26th - 28th:  I flew into Las Vegas for a girls trip with two of my dearest friends, Rachel and Dene, from Minnesota.  We ate delicious food, ran and hiked Red Rock every day and had a massage.  Dene and I called it fat camp.  Rachel ran us ragged.  It was the best fun!   I was also able to see one my close friends from New York, Jen Richards.  I loved every minute!







March 6th:  Jacob received a bunch of gift cards for Christmas from Wayne and I to some of his favorite places.  Here we are at IHOP.  He's having Nutella Crepes.

March 7th:  Alexis is student of the week and takes a picture with Clifford at ballet.

March 8th:  Trevor and Alexis home sick and playing games together.

March 10th:  Jacob practicing his clarinet.  He was named the student of the month for May.  He has a beautiful sound.

March 12th:  Trevor helping at the St Paul spaghetti feed to raise money for Project Starfish.

March 21st:  I drove to Utah with the kids for Spring Break!  We drove the full 13 hours to get there in one day.  I went to see a movie with Sammie and my mom.  I think I slept through half of it.  :)

March 23rd:  Still in Utah and Alexis gets really sick.  First smile of the day.  :(

March 24th:  Boondocks!  The kids loved driving the go carts. 


March 25th:  Olympic park in Park City.  The kids loved riding the ski simulators. 



March 26th:  Trevor comes down with the dreaded sickness.  We buy Iceburg shakes. 

March 27th:  Bowling at Fat Cats.  I love how Alexis starts jumping when she's excited.  Notice her feet off the ground?

March 28th:  Photo booth at my cousin, Aubrey's, wedding.  Here I am with Kara, Sammie and Kaysha.

March 29th:  Celebrating my dad's birthday while we're in Utah.  We drove home the next day.  It was a fun packed week.


April 1st:  Trail run through the beautiful Ridgeline trail in Eugene, Oregon.

April 2nd:  Alexis is Mary in her schools passion play.


April 2nd:  Trevor decided to take a break from swim team and try golf.  He loved every minute.

April 11th:  Trevor told me he was reading from 3-6 am.  I'm sorry to the teachers who needed to work with him that day.

April 12th:  Family game day, not so fun.  Alexis is one fierce competitor.

April 13th:  Book of Mormon origami for Family Home Evening.  Trevor was our master instructor.

April 15th:  Wayne brought home these free range, respected, ethical, kind, etc, etc, etc eggs from a sweet patient.

April 17th:  I was in charge of a craft at the Relief Society Activity.  These mason jar soap dispensers turned out adorable.

April 18th:  4:00 a.m. 24 mile run with my friend, Laurie.  We couldn't believe the red sunrise.

April 18th:  I hear ya, Trevor.  Let's nap.

April 19th:  Wayne and I head to Las Vegas for a couples getaway!

 April 20th:  Dinner at the Wynn.

April 22nd:  Hiking through Icebox Canyon and Turtlehead peak in Red Rock.

April 22nd:  Cruising down the Las Vegas strip.

April 23rd:  Final day in Vegas with a run along beautiful Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. 

April 24th:  I pulled the kids out of school for Wayne's last day of vacation and my Dad's last day in Oregon.  He was amazing and flew out to watch the kids while Wayne and I were away.

April 25th:  My darling little starfish.  Alexis's ballet costume.

April 25th:  Miniature golfing with the fam at Putt-Putt golf course.  We were the last people allowed before it started to rain.  The rainbow was breathtaking.



April 30th:  Trevor and I go to an overnight trip to the Portland Zoo.  It was called ZooSnooze.  We walked around the zoo from 5:00 to 10:30 p.m.  We then slept on the floor at the zoo, woke up at 7:00, walked around some more, ate lunch and then left.  We were exhausted, but it was a fun trip.

May 9th:  I ran my first 50K, Smith Rock.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  I thought I was lost once, turned around for a bit and realized I was on the right path.  The end of the course was straight uphill.  It wasn't a fun way to end, but crossing that finish line felt amazing.  I finished in 6:02 (six hours and two minutes).

May 10th:  Mother's Day dinner made by my man.  Have I said how much I love him???


May 14th:  Wayne and I head to San Diego for a conference he has at Del Coronado.  My family has been amazing to come watch the kids.  Wayne and I hike and drive by the San Diego temple, which is gorgeous.

May 15th:  I see my friend from New York, Kathryn!!  Love her.  Wayne and I also celebrate our 17 year anniversary eating Thai Food and seeing Pitch Perfect 2.

May 16th:  I run 10 miles on Coronado Island while Wayne is in meetings.  We walked along the island together, saw an amazing sand castle, grabbed some gelato and drove to Point Loma.





May 23rd:  A very sweaty 15 mile run on the trails.

May 23rd:  Wayne and Jacob working on his science fair project.  He made a light bulb.

May 24th:  We drove to Battle Ground, WA to see friends from medical school!  We haven't seen Burke and Rivka in 8 years!  It was so fun catching up.

May 25th:  Killer burger and food carts in Portland.

May 28th:  Trevor takes 2nd overall in his Pinewood Derby.

May 29th:  Trevor and his best friend, Alec at their school Jog-a-thon.

May 30th:  Alexis and Jacob swimming in their swim-a-thon.  I am quite "a-thon"ed out.  Jacob swam 3 miles in 1 hour and 20 minutes and Alexis swam 1.67 miles in 1 hour and 43 minutes.  We are amazed and so proud!

June 3rd:  Family antics in our new tent. 

June 4th:  Goodbye party for my dear friend Elly who moved to Denver.

June 5th:  Jacob's school job-a-thon and Trevor's final viola recital for the year.  Jacob ran 3 miles and Trevor played a song written and transcribed the song (on his own).  His teacher was floored (so were we).

June 10th:  Jacob's field trip to Newport beach.  We went to the science center and then went on a two hour boat ride.  It was incredible.  The captain threw out a net into the ocean, drove for a bit and then brought it back in with all of the sea life.  There were crabs, shrimp and all kinds of plankton.


June 13th:  Alexis has a swim meet at Amazon Pool. 

June 15th:  The kids and I drive to Utah, in one day.  ZZZZZZ

June 16th:  I bought Lagoon season passes since we will be in Utah for about six weeks this summer.  We went right away and had a ball.

June 18 - 19th:  I run the Wasatch Back relay with my amazing friends from Minnesota.  We came, we ran, we conquered.  It was insanely hot and incredibly fun. 

June 23rd:  Lunch with cousins and grandparents followed by fun at Boondocks.

June 26th:  Camping with the Rytting side of the family.  Fun for the 24 hours we were there.  Camping is a ton of work.  I also pinched a disc in my back and have been in incredible pain.

June 27th:  Grand America tea with my lovely mom and sisters.

July 2-4th:  Ormsby family reunion.  The first night was baptisms at the temple with the youth aged kids followed by dinner at Chuck a Rama.  On the 3rd we went boating at Willard Bay.  We all had a great time and left red as tomatoes.  That evening the cousins slept over at Roger and Beth's house.  Breakfast was at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Amazing Race, put together by Roger.  It was five hours of fun running around to different areas and figuring out puzzles and places.  We were beat at the end.

July 10th:  I was supposed to drive home, but every single one of us came down with a stomach bug that was nasty.  It hit one person each day.  We had to postpone by four days until we were better.  YUCK.
