My lil' Picasso's....

Kayla is really into writing and art so we have been learning about different types of art ( thanks to Usbourne Books!!) So after reading the book I asked her what type she would like to try this month so she picked Still Art- pretty boring to me, but once she got started it was really cool to see her mind working hard to copy the objects she picked and soon the whole gang wanted in....... Kayla chose oranges, Em apples ( green and red- she HAD to have a mix!) and what did Jaxs choose???....... if you that know him well didn't say a Bnana( his vocab!) then shame on you!!! LOL! So here are the pics of my little art students - I even tried it out, mine is the one on the left with Kayla's- looks just like my children's- Kayla's actually is way better! :) ( 2nd pic I think??..) ...... We had a blast! Mixing the colors just right to get the perfect ORANGE, Jaxs even put brown spots ( well huge lines, but hey he noticed!) for the brown spots on the Bnana, Cash man got in on the art too- except he kept just touching the paintbrush with his hands then smearing it on his belly ! they each signed there names- I helped Jaxs, but Em did hers all by herself- she just ran out of room and went UP the paper so it looks like AMEM! Enjoy!

My Kate's 1st Tri !

Hi everyone, its me, Jeremy. I wanted to blog this one. It all started about 5 months ago, Kate came to me and said that she was going to train for a triathlon, I didn't think to much about it. The next 4 months went by very quickly as usual, we were very busy, but Kate just kept on training. She had signed up for the tri back when it was first announced, but it filled up very fast, she had to get on a waiting list that had her up at 6 am on her vacation to try and get on the list, I knew then that she was serious about wanting to do this. So finally about a week before the tri she got the good news that she was in, she was so excited. Friday, the night before the tri, she could not sleep a bit, I think that she finally fell asleep about 11. Saturday we woke up about 4:30 am, we had to be to the event by 6. I could tell she was a little nervous on the way up to tri, but not as nervous as I was. Finally it was time for all the training to pay off. Kate got in the water, the horn sounded and she was off, she blew the swimming away, I was the most nervous about the swim because it looked so far. Next was the bike, she was a little disappointed in her biking, but she did great. Last was the run, and of course she did awesome. She finished her first tri in a little over two hours, I was so proud of her that she finished at all. I have a new respect for anyone who can do a triathlon. Thanks to everyone that helped us with the kids so that she could do this, and thanks to everyone who came up and supported Kate at the event. When My Kate crossed that finished line she made me so proud that she is my wifey. I love you baby, can't wait for the next one.

Stormy NIGHT.......

I am getting slack!! I do have sooo much to blog about just not enough time in my day - I know MANY can relate!! It's kinda like scrap booking - I LOVE it but ask me the last time I scraped ( this is bugging me is it 2 pp's?? scrapped? I think so LOL!!) ..... way to long ago and I have soo much to catch up on! At least my friends Nicole and Sue keep me some what able to to catch up - they have an awesome scrapbook "CLUB" that every few months we all get together and they have all the papers ready and the BEST layouts- all I have to do is show up with a little money and a few hours later I am done with WAY better pages then I could ever create!! Anyway enough of that -the reason I am sitting down to blog is that last night it finally RAINED!!!! Yippee right?, WRONG!!!!!! I feel totally ungrateful that all this time I have been praying for rain for my one flower I am able to keep alive and here it is RAINING and I am thinking - Please not so loud!! LOL Well here is the story behind it- My friend Julie and I went to the Y to work out ( GO US!!) and then took all the kids ( 7 together!) to the Siskey water park for a good 3 hours meaning no nap for the little ones which was fine because I fixed dinner at 430 - way early I know- had them bathed and ready for bed by 7 and no complaints were even made about GOING to sleep!! I was able to get some laundry folded and lay down in bed to watch a little TV before early bed when I heard the thunder....... By 9pm it was a full blown STORM and so loud 3 of the 4 woke up and snuck into bed- then power went off which made everyone that much more scared ( don't know why only one light was on anyway!LOL) but Daddy saved the day and found candles and tucked everyone in our bed ( this is WHY he HAD to have king bed by the way - in case this ever happened!! :) LOL!) and settled everyone down just like the superhero he is!! Finally after hours of being poked and laid on and after the storm passed everyone was carried to bed ( again super hero daddy!) and we fell asleep again only to have Cash man wake up at 12am and come sleep with us for a few more hours!! So 6am came way to early this morning but boy does my flower and butterfly bush look better -a little....... :0 )

Butterflies.....

R u all sad that it has been 3 whole days since my last post!! LOL Well this isn't really about anything and I do love this pic of me and J, but I am just feeling overwhelmed this week - and to all my friends/family NO there is nothing u can do for me because I know u all would !! I think it really has hit me about my tri coming up Aug 25th -( I am still 8th on waiting list but they said usually 25 people get in so on AUG 14th I will officially have my name down but pretty sure I on- better HUH!??) I am SUPER excited and of course nervous but the biggest thing I am struggling with is if I good enough to do it- now I know I am not going to "win" and I keep telling myself as long as I finish in the time allotted ( under 2hrs 45min) it will be OK but I have such a competitive spirit that when all those bikers in their gear - shorts and a T for ME :)! - coming flying past me I am going to have a hard time sucking it up!! I know too that I have been training super hard and the right way so physically YES I can do it, but it's the inside that is getting me down! How silly is this, but with everything else- school, sports, everything that is in our/my daily life I am just letting it get the best of me so PLEASE say a little prayer at night for me to have peace and LET go of all my worries and just truly to have FUN ( LOL) come race day and be happy with doing my best!! :) And I will go ahead and apologize to anyone who may feel like I have been distant or haven't called u back ( U all know how horrible I am with that anyway LOL) or hung out or whatever, but that's me- I get so focused on something sometimes I lose count on what really means the most to me MY family and MY friends :) LOVE YA !!

HA!! My FUN Day !

Today was an interesting day to say the least!! You know how when u have a "project" or something to do with your kids YOU get excited about it? Well when I do occasionally come up with something fun to do I get really excited for the kids (???) So today we woke up kinda early for a Sat. had breakfast and I told the kids we were going to see a Veggie Tales movie at the christian bookstore in Matthews!! Everybody was excited- well except for Kayla, but little did she know I had planned all ready for Pee-paw to pick her up hang out with her and take her to her favorite BBQ place for lunch ( SCORE!! for MOM!! :) - so she quickly turned her frown upside down! Emma had one of her emotional mornings- everything wasn't fitting just right so we changed clothes a few times until finally I decided HER outfit FOR her ( which she JUST loved LOL !) and off we went ..... NO LIE we pull into the parking lot and Jaxs starts throwin up his oatmeal that while I was fixing it this morning thought, "I probably should give him something lighter since he gets carsick VERY easily and we are leaving pretty soon......" ( This is why GOD put discernment into a mothers heart- now ONLY if I would LISTEN to it!!!) So thankfully my friends Jess R. and Holly were on the way and Jess had some shorts ( girls but shhhhh no one noticed- at least they weren't PINK LOL!) SO we get in and the kids do like watching the Veggies but all the books, games, stuffed animals were calling Cash like a kid in a candy store so he was having fun just not the way I WANTED him to!- I was just praying I wouldn't have to buy any books today due to ripped pages! :) We headed out with our cool Veggie Tale mugs they got to bring home and stopped by the Farmers Market for our next treat! At the farmers market each week they have something hands on to do, not always for the kids, but today they had make your own vegetable people or faces so Emma made "Pirate Rapunzel"- She put LOTS of corn husks for the hair and had her have a peg leg( DON'T ASK - all her idea! LOL) and Jaxs made "Pirate Joe" complete with a patch over his tomato eye!! McD's help complete our day with some yummy french fries on the way home...... so we REALLY did have fun today - just a few bumps along the road to fun!! :) ENJOY today !!

Is It HOT or WHAT?.....

I can not believe how HOT it is here in Indian Trail NC!!!! I thought the summer of 98 was hot ( I think the highest was 99 that year) because I was prego with Kayla and due in SEPT, but I feel soooo very bad for my friends Holly, Emma, and Carrie who are preggers in this 104 degrees weather!!! So anyway we decided to have a playgroup with a few gals from our bible study since we haven't met all summer and have just been busy with family, traveling, ya know summer activities..... Jess and Hailey came- which I can't believe little peanut Hailey is turning ONE soon - the last of the 06 babies to be one and then in a few weeks the start of the new little ones arriving!! Holly brought her cutie-pie boys Elijah and Aron, and sweet Cole and his Momma Emma dropped by too so it was a FUN day for my boys..... We all brought snacks and ate lunch together with kids so we could just put them down for naps when we all got home ( well I just had to carry mine upstairs so I had an easier job - no HEAT for me! LOL) Jaxson was a little rough with Hailey ( sorry Jess), but she was so cute - she tried to put the batman mask on- only for a sec though she wasn't to sure what that thing was! The faces Jaxs made at the end for the pics we TRIED to take were pretty funny- Elijah was being so sweet getting ready to smile then he saw Jax Jax's face and decided, well if he's not smilin neither am I !! It was pretty cute though so I am still posting them!! We tried to take pics of the little ones and hey at least we got Cole to sit away from momma for a sec and Cash and Aron cheesin- Hailey was just rockin away in the chair!! :) It was fun to have us all back together and hopefully we can have a outdoor one when this weather cools down !

BIRTHDAY!!

With all the vacations and school starting I completely forgot I didn't post any pics of Emma's 5Th bday!! It was the last weekend of July and we had just gotten back from beach but shhhhh don't tell her I forgot ! :( Anyway here are some pics from it- we had soo much fun! The YMCA has great birthday themes or u can have your own theme and have a room for crafts, cake and ice cream and a moonbounce in the gym so we went with the moonbounce and I think EVERYBODY enjoyed it! The adults ( I won't mention any names.... well RICK BLACKWOOD! LOL) had so much fun he fell out of the opening trying to bounce!- I didn't get to witness it but from how red Vickie's face was and the tears of laughter from her and others around I would say it was pretty funny!! Emma wanted a jungle theme- remember the cookies that were in the shape of animals ( and the fact Jaxs ate most of them!- starting to laugh about it finally!!) and wanted to invite boys this time so Cole, Brenden, and CJ were the "chosen" boys LOL!!! The girls and boys got along great, Emma had a fabulous time, and thank you all sooo much for making her day special and for all the AWESOME gifts!!! :)

FEAR.....LESS

I know I named another blog FEAR but this one describes my Jaxson he is FEARLESS!! While we were away this weekend ( read about it in blog below!) I really learned a lot more about my sons -more about Jaxson. He WANTED so bad to ride the roller coaster and I WANTED so bad for him not to! Jeremy and Paw-Paw took him the first time and I got up the courage to take him again! In the 1st pic u can kinda see his face flying by, but if you look close he has a HUGE smile on his face and that to me is the greatest gift- to see my wild little boy having the time of his life!! He went on the feed the goats- one even nipped his finger and he just went on like it wasn't a thing ( that would be the end of feeding a goat if that were me , but then again I didn't even DO it! LOL!) He jumped off huge rocks into the creek like he was superman and swam in the little hot tub like he was a fish- I am so glad God brought me to this quiet place in the mountains and opened my eyes to my brave, fearless boy and his pretty darn cute brother! Which by the way Cash is TALKING so much - he says the usual words like momma, dada, no!, please, but he started to copy us now he says YUCK!, dirt, boo-boo, yesss ( he likes snakes so he keeps the sss like a hiss!!) sissy (Emma) , K ( Kayla), der ( brother)?, paw-paw, maw-maw, and bye ( usually blows a kiss with his bye-byes!) there are probably more but can't remember- which all u moms gotta write down when they start talking because you forget so quick and some day they will ask "what was my first word (s)?" and you can be on top of it!!- I just love it and can't wait to see and learn more about my boys!!

Cowboys......

We have been all the way to the ocean waters to the mountain creeks in about 2weeks so I would say we are all tired!! The girls had places to go this last weekend so we just decided to head the mountains for some heat relief!! It was wonderful! The boys loves playing in the creek - as u can see Cash wasn't shy about getting his clothes wet and Jaxson just decided to start taking his clothes OFF! LOL- We went to Santa Land in Cherokee - kinda creepy looking 80's snowmen, but they had a terrific zoo and lots of fun rides- Jaxs even rode the roller coaster twice! Cash was so excited about riding the rides - The first one he wanted to go on was the cars so there he sat all ready and smiling then...... one turn around he was looking for us and didn't do so good- he started crying so they stopped the ride and then he wanted to try the boats.... SAME thing! So we learned our lesson with that- no more rides alone for Cashman:) We rode our bikes around Maggie Valley ( I tried one hill, but WOW it was soo tough!). We had plans to build a fire, make s'mores, and just let the boys run around, but they were so tired both of them hardly ate the yummy food Jeremy made so we got them in pj's and watched a little TV and they were out- they looked too cute side by side!! So Ken, Jeremy and I decided to make the most out of it and made out OWN fire and s'mores- soooo good !! The last day Jeremy took us to his favorite place- Mast General Store in Waynesville- the kids LOVED it! They have big bins filled with any and all kinds of candy so they each picked out a piece for their sisters ( and of course themselves!) It was a great weekend and coming back it was so nice to see the girls, but NOT nice to get back to this heat..... 101 degrees when we got home to our house at 3pm!!!! Hope everyone is having a blessed day !! sorry so many pics I couldn't choose!
