What we didn't do.....

LOL! This week is/was Spring Break for us and I had so much planned for us to do with the kiddos- park days, fishing, picnics, anything outdoors if you get the picture and a little cleaning, well Cash had other plans- poor thing he still is not 100% so while I did venture out today with the gang - triple coupons at Harris Teeter, come on I HAD too ( BTW spent 20.09 saved 57.85 YESSS!!!!) anyway sorry 'bout that.... I promised a trip to B's icecream if all were good and all were GREAT! Cash a little rotten, but I know he is feeling rotten so other than that we had a laid back day! We did get around to starting our garden - DON'T laugh I know I am worlds worst at keeping things alive- children I can handle -plants not so much! lol So we are trying out a garden.... just a potted garden that I read about in the paper so we will see if in a few months we have tomatoes, cucs, squash, peppers, and maybe even strawberries growin!! :) Cash helped me yesterday while the older ones went to awanas ( he looks really happy in this pic don't you think? LOL!) Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and enjoy the beautiful weather!! :)

PS Jeremy--- I DID get some spring cleaning done!! ;)

Thank you Aunt Alyce!!

I haven't been able to email or call to let Sweet Aunt Alyce know we got her adorable cards for Easter- she is so great about sending the kids stuff and they LOVE getting letters in the mail ( Em always knows it's her from her beautiful writing and how she decorates the cards!) So we LOVE you Aunt Alyce and fam and hope to see you real soon!!!

xxoo

the Walser Gang!!

From great to bad in 24 hours :(

Sunday was such a beautiful day-- little cold at first but warmed up and ended up being a great day to celebrate Jesus' Resurrection!! We tried out a new church and I have to say I feel truly at "home" there!! WOW I really was trying to wait and visit a few more times but the Lord definitely has other plans for me and knows where my place is- I know my relationship with Him has NOTHING to do with the church I go to, but it feels so great to not dread another Sunday in fear of finding The Place to go to ( does this even makes since??lol) anyway... All the fam came over Sunday and we had our egg hunt ( Kayla had an extra hard time finding her golden egg in fear of the snake we found last week under a rock!) and of course we threw down in normal "Walser-style" get together with some great food- ham, green beans, corn, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, gravy, rolls, roasted potatoes, and last but not least dump cake for dessert ( sooo yummy! doesn't sound it but promise it is!! lol) and brownies - I think next time I could just eat dessert for my meal!! lol There was probly even more food then that, but that's alot of food huh??! So after all that we hung out played some baseballout back and of course watched b-ball - the guys were so happy that games were a little later - GO HEELS!! ( sorry- had to add that!) even though a few snuck off during the egg hunt.......:) So all in all an awesome day to celebrate Jesus!

Then no lie that night ( or early am) Cashie started getting a high fever and croupy cough, wheezing --YUCK! So after a Dr.'s visit this morning and breathing treatments + some steroids ( ooooo typing the words steroids along with Cashie sounds bad to me, but Doc said it was ok for him :) ) we are holed up for the next few days until Cash feels better and washing hands every few hours ( or minutes!! ) speaking of --little Cashie is crying for me so gotta go-- wish us luck in not spreading and hope to see everyone soon lol!! :)

Tag- I'm it!!

7 interesting ( or weird) facts about me!....

1. I HATE dishes in the sink! Why this peeves me I have no idea and why my sweet family leaves dishes uncleaned in the sink all the time is why it is funny that it such a pet-peeve of mine! lol Every night before bed no matter how tired, cranky whatever I have to check the sink and make sure the dishwasher is turned on? (Now that is weird I'll even admit that! lol)

2. I love to cook ( I got this from Jenny's except she's opposite me :) ) What is really funny about this is when I met Jeremy and we fell in love ( how sweet! :) ) I didn't know how to boil water ( no really I would forget about it and burn the pot! lol) Along with Jeremy though I got to "marry" his family and his mom is a great cook- I still have a lot to learn, but I feel so much more confident at dinner and can say I could whip up something from my pantry on nights no meals were planned ( I think?? LOL)

3. I love sports - in highschool I loved soccer so much and my little school only had boys soccer so I tried out for the boys varsity soccer team and made it! It was so much fun and they definitely treated me like one of the guys ( YUCK!!)

4. I never had fast food until I met my hubby! Funny huh?? Fast food wasn't in my moms vocab ( which really was a great thing looking back!) so the fist time Jeremy took me for a Bojangles bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit I was lovin' it and then sweet tea for breakfast YESSSSSSS!! lol

5. I feel like I am the ONLY non-pregnant person left on earth !! I know this is really not true but so many of my friends are preggers I am beginning to get a little baby envy ( not preggo-envy though- gaining so much weight with Cash -80lbs!!!- is enough for me to forgo getting preggo again and the fact Jeremy is fixed ! lol)

6. I love warm weather!! I LOVE going to the beach with the kids and playing in the sand, building high castles and wading in the little "pools" that are by the ocean -I have a little fear of having FOUR kids ( 3 that can't really swim) in the ocean, but these little pools are perfect and safe in my book! lol

7. Last but not least many of you know this but I am deathly afraid of bridges not so much tall heights just bridges particuly the ones over water. I have had to conquer this fear a few times this past year because we have gone to Charleston and of course my favorite place to be had the biggest bridges for me to cross!! :)

Enjoy and these are my girlies I am taggin'

2 Fun Projects!!

Why I decided to do TWO in ONE day???? Anyway these were way fun and the kids had a blast doing them ..... at least I hope they did! lol!!

Here are the recipes is you want to try ( very cheap too!!)

Fish Soap ( lol)
2 lb block of clear glycerin soap ( used my 40%$ off at Michael's for this !)
Wooden skewers ( had wooden Kabob sticks that we used or a toothpick would work just as well!)
Blue Food Coloring
8-in square baking pan
Waxed paper
Fish shaped cookie cutter ( again used another 40% off at Micheal's- cheap!)
25-in of twine or any heavy string
Clear tape ( or just TAPE!)

Melt soap ( directions on package- this did take longer than thought so kiddos were a little distracted at this process! lol) With skewer stir in blue food coloring until desired color ( we did about 10 for a light blue/sea color). Line baking pan with waxed paper and pour in melted soap. Allow to cool ( says 20 min - ours took more towards 30), then lift waxed paper out to remove soap from pan. Use cookie cutter to create fish ( 6 total), then poke an eye and mouth hole in each with wooden skewer. Knot one end of the twine and wrap the other end with a piece of tape. Thread the tape end through each mouth hole, knotting the twin between each fish to separate them :) TADA!!!

Coolest Easter Eggs
Small flat leaves ( we used grass/clover- anything from our yard!)
Hard-boiled eggs
Nylon stocking- cut in 3in. section
Rubber bands ( we used small hair ties that we had)
Water
White Vinegar
Food Coloring
Large Glasses ( big enough so egg can fit and lay in!)
Lay leaf on egg then cover with stocking, twist ends together secure with rubber band.

For each dye bath mix 1/2 c warm H2O, 1 Teaspoon Vinegar, and 10-29 drops food coloring. Submerge the nylon wrapped egg ( directions say carefully but with my kids NOTHING is done carefully so just lay out newspaper!) Let soak 4 minutes. Use a spoon to remove egg form "bath" and set on covered surface. Remove rubber band and nylon , then leaf and let dry completely--- WAY WAY COOL!!!
** we only had 3 colors blue, red and yellow but the kids wanted to make other colors so after we dipped in primary color they choose another one to create orange, purple, and green.... thought they new something no one else did....... lol I loved it though they were so cute :)

Daddy and Grammie did get to join in at the end of the festivities today- Grammie assisted in the clean up and of taking two girls for the night- and Daddy of course had to put his spin on the Easter egg dying- he did a spider-man egg ( wayyyy not he "nature" theme I was looking for but hey it DID look pretty awesome! :) ) and excuse the pic of Cash and Jaxson with their fishie soap-- as usual Mr. Jaxson is in his home attire- NO pants!! SOooooo I am EXHAUSTED and we are going to McAlisters to eat tonight! lol Love ya !! Have a great night ! :)

Irish??

No we are not Irish but we thought it would be fun ( OK I thought!! and Maw Maw agreed) to have a themed family dinner night - every Sunday is family dinner with Jeremy's fam so this Sunday Maw-Maw cooked an Irish Stew and cabbage and apples. We had Irish soda bread and banana-nut cupcakes with green sprinkles....... Everybody wore green ( again- we had the parade on Saturday) so today we are St. Patricks day out!! Had sooo much fun and we aren't even Irish, but still fun to celebrate and make new traditions. Here is a poem Kayla told us
before dinner:

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of
His hand.

Have a great day- love you all!!
** oh yeah and I am not wearing my green shirt because CAROLINA sooo deserves to be worn on a day like yesterday ( and everyday for that fact!! lol) Go heels!!, but I did wear my beads!! :)

Weekend fun !

So many things....

I guess I could do three different posts, but not enough time so I am squishin' em together! lol !

Cash has his own big boy bed now and has been doing AWESOME every night... nap time not so much, but he didn't do so well at nap anyway even while in his crib. I tell him he atleast has to have his quiet time in HIS room until I come to get him and so far this as worked most days! The two times he has finally fallen asleep though this is how it looked when I came to tell him quiet time was over .... One time he took all clothes off ( who does this sound like?!) and the other day he pulled everything off his shelf and fell sound asleep in the middle of it all! Of course I think way cute so just humor me and think so too! lol!!

Other thing... I added a new blog ( Lysa T. from Proverbs 31) not only do I think she has such great wisdom- I LOVE her blog for today and I got another email from her ( well not REALLY from her personally ! lol) from Proverbs 31st so anyway ( sorry- over and around I go to get to end of the story!!) while reading over her blogs I came across her recipe swap- such yummy, easy recipes AND then I was catching up on others blogs and Jenny has a blog about her recipe swap too ( funny how excited I get over these little things huh??!! LOL:) ) all said JUST check it out and enjoy the recipes - want to know what you try and if liked too- and I just like getting comments tee hee!!

Ok last thing... Some of you know how much I LOVE coupons and have cut my grocery bill from about 600.00 a month ( I KNOW bad!) to 400.00 tops ( this is everything- toiletries, food etc...... except diapers -they have a budget of their own! ) and some weeks like the last two only have spent about 30.00 a week in groceries and yes we have been eating only at home breakfast, lunch, and dinner! - sorry not trying to brag but I am TERRIBLE with money and this has really helped our fam:) So I am interested in coupon swapping ( I always have coupons that I don't use but others may need or want) and know a few ladies in the neighborhood might like too do it so get the word out and if anyone knows a great way to swap ( I have no idea how to get it started) let me know!! Sorry so long and so all over the place!!! By the way - if you ever are tempted to throw away your coups-- feel free to drop in my mailbox I will get to others or use em myself !! lol :) Enjoy the day!

Gupie and Chocolate

I have found THE best way to have pets.... borrow them!! lol WE have a cat next door who's name is Blackie but Cash calls him Gupie- he lets Cash basically do anything to him ( sorry Kim- the owner!) Every time we go outside to play Blackie runs over and snuggles up with the girls in the playhouse or lays on the sofa outside and lets Cash smother him with hugs:) He is spoiled because I do sometimes let him come in the house ( just a few minutes Jeremy!- promise!!) and Kayla will sometimes do her homework outside and he just sits on the table with her as if waiting for her to be done and get to lovin on him! :) "Our" other pet is Ty- Carrie and Andy's cute little pug and Jaxson LOVES him so much! Jaxson called him Ty Pug for a while, but when we watched Ty a few weekends ago he decided his name is Chocolate!?? I have no idea?!! Ty aka Chocolate is THE most perfect dog- he loves being outside with us, but he will totally chill if we are watching T.V. So while we have no pets ( ok two fish....Gansta- don't ask Kayla named him/her- and Cheez-it...... and we can barly keep those alive!) I think this is the best way for our family ( ok ME!) to not have to worry about one more addition to the house, yet enjoy every moment with "our" sweet pets!! lol

WISHES

Today is a beautiful day and our schedules are a little off from time change ( I can't believe it is all ready 3pm!!) We went on a run ( well I huffed and puffed behind the jogger that contained about 60lbs of boys! lol) then went to the playground.... on our way home Jaxson found some dandelions, but he calls them wish flowers and we packed a few away and took them home. Here are some pics of the boys blowing wishes!!

** Jaxson said his wish was for more flowers! lol!

** Cash just wanted to blow 'em to Blackie "our" cat ( read blog above!!!)

Cookin with Grannie

This weekend was so laid back - I think we need a lot more of these!- Grannie Crump ( Jeremy's Grandma) came for a visit along with Maw-Maw ( Jeremy's mom) on Saturday to teach me all her cooking secrets or at least some of the family's homemade recipes...... we made Lemon Pound cake, Chicken Salad ( Grannie's IS the best !!), Potato salad, Vegetable soup, and Country Style steak. If you can't tell Jeremy Fam is all about country cooking and I really wanted to learn these since I am the one making the meals and Grannie Crump doesn't have recipes for anything..... she always tells me when I ask her for a recipes a little of this, a little of that so to have here right beside me showing how long to cook the potatoes, how much to season this and Jeremy's favorite-- how to make homemade gravy! :) It was really fun to have Grannie over, it makes me miss my Kay-Kay, but now I have the recipes ( I asked her so do you think that was about a cup? lol I need to have definite measures on my recipes!!) I am looking forward to the day I cook with my girls and give them these top-secret ingredients for all the yummy food we made!!! :) After all that cooking we went to the park down the street and then came home to a yummy meal- Country style steak, rice, biscuits, corn, and poundcake of course!:) Thank you Grannie Crump we love you and can't wait for another cooking class soon!

On another note we have a first sick child with the FLU!!!! Kayla is feeling really bad so say a prayer that this will get gone soon ( and that no one else in the fam catches it!! ) I have NEVER sprayed so much Lysol in my house before!! lol Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather today!
