Rotten

that was my morning -- up wayy to late last night and had a litttle boy ( *cough* Jaxson...) who was pushing every button he could possible push ( and this was at 8am!) so I really was not feeling like meeting up with my fun-op friends to share Christmas Spirit with the elderly ( our friend Heidi delivers meals with her crew for Meals on Wheels and she set it up so we could go pick up the meals- carol to the ones that can get out for a meal then we drove to each house to sing and deliver their meals to those who can't get out...) add the rain/sleet I was trying really hard to hold it together with a smile.... then as we were driving ( and me still giving Jaxson the evil eye....) the song that says "mommy teach a little girl..." ya know that one? and while I ALWAYS change it because that song just is kinda cheesy to me, today I didn't-- it was the Lord keeping my hands on the steering wheel and as I listened I thought about these people and how lonely they must be and how each of the houses we visited were so close to my house - I pass by each one of them at last one time a day. WOW ! SO quickly my attitude changed and so did my man Jaxson's ( kinda funny how that worked huh? *wink) how was I showing MY children to act and how do I need to behave in situations like today?
We delivered the meals and each family took turns going to the door. Of course I sat in the car and took pics and to see through the lens the smiles on their faces when the children were singing songs was my best gift of all and even better? that my children were getting to do this with me;)
So as me and Kayla were talking about how sorry we felt for the man who just 5 months ago lost his wife then 2 weeks ago lost his sister ( both lived with him- so now he is all alone) we decided instead of feeling sorry - maybe we can go visit more and each time we pass by one of those houses - we will say a prayer for the Lord to love and protect them through the day.... funny what a rotten" day it turned out to be..........

A Papa

Always greets me with a smile and warm hug....
Always wants to show you all the fun things he has done lately.....
Never forgets to smile softly at me....
Doesn't hesitate to hold his youngest great grandson.....
Wont let anyone know how much pain he may be in to enjoy his moments in time with family....
Loves unconditional.........
No matter how long it has been 1 week, 1 day, or almost a year always calls me his girl and tells me how much he loves me....

my Papa Jack is going through a hard time right now- not only is he fighting cancer, but because of the chemo and his immune system he has shingles which are really painful. I love everything about this man and while I dont remember a lot as a little girl I do remember his great big belly ( that my Curtu made him lose many years ago! lol) and the times I would crawl on up and lay on him and we would watch TV together. I am so grateful for the chance to go visit with him this year and have him meet Briggs. He even rocked Briggs as he slept- this is really why I love photography - pictures are moments in time to relive what you feel for that day..... I will always have this memory in my heart but now I can have it framed for my Briggs to see and we can talk about our Papa Jack:)

This Christmas....

Here are a few of our plans to do... today we did our first one- what?!! no pics? Not yet but wanted to give YOU all a head start in case you wanted to join me ( umm I mean our family!! lol)...... I think I like craft time too much!

We did THESE today.... so fun- we of course added glitter to ours though and a suction cup to the back so we can hang them on our windows- no worries pics are soon to come! lol
we are going to be doing THIS, THIS and THIS also during the week- Jaxson will add THIS to his workbox too.......

Next week thinking of trying to do THIS ( well the wreath one...) with everyone and girls will complete their homemade gifts to one another ( shhhhh Kayla is doing THIS for Emma since she is learning how to sew.... totally her idea and so proud they are thinking of each other.....) and I will complete THIS, THIS, THIS, and THESE too ( im a lil obsessed over food right now-- the felt kind!! ) for the boys for Christmas, think im adding some spaghetti to this too-- tee hee so many links in one post-- wonder if you click on all of them??!!
so that gives us the last week or week and half for what?!!!! any fun ideas ( JULIE-- u DOOOoo have a blog about this kinda stuff right??! I am soo just kidding you sweetness!) We will be doing all our baking that last week for cookie parties so may not have time for any more crafts... wait did I just say that-- nahh I can add in a craft somewhere:)

We will be doing our our reg curric this December also - I usually take it "off " so we can just create, bake, and do the fun school stuff, but because we started a lil late in the year we have to just add it in to school and that works too ( another big PLUS I love about HSing:)...)

O yeah---- I can't wait for this either- well I can since its ONLY December 1st- every year since Kayla was little we go around the town looking for the best light show and come home to watch THIS ( ha! had to do it more!!) and this year we are going to add THESE fun tickets to the tradition-- LOVE it!

Does it feel like I am missing the REAL meaning of this time of year?- writing this all out it kinda makes me feel ( or look like....) I am skipping over the reason for CHRISTmas- but then again as I type this I think...... Our Savior is such a big part of our every day living that while we do add the advent and are doing some of THIS for our devotions at night instead of what we normally do, I feel as though my kids truly do know what a special day December 25th is. Our Jesus came to us as a little baby- how awesome is that!? Yes we do love ( me totally included ) the "magic" of Christmas- our elf's appearing, our letters to Santa, all of these heart felt traditions I am so thankful we get to have with our family and to know how we are filled up with HIS love first and want to show others that love of Jesus all year around and why I am explaining this ??... its realllly late for me and so I must get to bed before I say something totally wrong or just keep going on and on and on..... tee hee!! I wanna see what UR doing for Christmas-- doooo tell!!
