Are We Done Yet?

Today is SUCH a special day for our family and have to share- its my Jaxsons birthday!

We have started only doing famly birthdays -- not forever and if one of them ever expressed wanting to have all their friends over for a bash Im game for it but honestly we have WAYYY too many kids to have to invite and plan out for 30+ people and feel bad for my friends having to buy a gift every other month for our family ( we have some GReat grandparents that tend to go overboard in that department anyway!! lol) so back to my boy Jaxs~

My first son... I PRAYED and hoped and WISHED him to be well HIM - a boy!! I thought I wanted a boy while pregnant with Emma but God knew the timing and how the bond between J and I would grow and blessed us with Jaxson with such perfect timing ( He does tend to do this for us huh? *wink!). I was so excited to even be sprinkled on by a lil boy ( at first!) BOYS are so.very.different. Not so much that they are all harder than girls- I have met a few girls with Cash's personality..... but O the adventures and play you get from a boy. Jaxson opened my eyes to how wonderfully made boys are . Jaxs is actually one of the reasons I have such a passion for photography- he explores it all- in photography I feel as though you have to also. Not that I am all knowing in the area I have soo much to work on still, but Jaxs has shown me to look deeper, feel harder, push myself to level I was not aware a now 6 year old could teach a momma!!

My Jaxson boy- You have blessed my life more than you may ever know - I cherish our talks at night, your interrupting tendencies, and your made dashes to get outdoors! I am so blessed to hear you call ME mommy and can't wait to see the man, the husband, the father you are to become one day:) much love my first born son forever and always!

so what we have we been up to?? Let's see..... school, school, school and field trips, feild trips, FEILD TRIPS!! another LOL. These past few weeks we have been working hard to get all our work done so we can leave for the beach ALL OF JUNE. I am sooo excited- people look at me strange when I say we are doing that?? Don't quite know why- is that weird? ( or weirder than I even am!? I do homeschool you know...*wink!)

so this week I am proud to say, we will officially be done with Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, and of course preschool for Cashman but he will continue a pre-k curric until 5. In fact, I have had a lot of q's about what I do with Cash. He learns right along side us and it has been GReat - of course he acquires more talking to some days and LOTS more hands on, but the girls enjoy working with him and playing "pre-k" games girls call them! So I am ready for this week- One more field trip ( and photo op- because IM the TEACHER thats why!) and having a celebration ice cream party Wednesday after Awanas awards ( join us at Brusters if ya want LOVED to see all our friends- email me and Ill letcha now more details!) and then packing for the beach- BLECH- this I DO NOT want to do:(. Im already thinking of next years curric and pretty much know the direction we are going- just need to start getting it ( can't wait to make all my final decision and maybe post our curric - because I KNOW your dying to know right? lol

We have had to make some MAJOR decision lately regarding the house- we had planned to put the house on the market THIS WEEK and I was sooo excited to get to look for places, even kinda excited to get my house "show"worthy ( I know its a sickness I think!?!!) then spoke over everything with a realtor ( whom I LOVED her telling me it all- all the info not just so she could make a buck!) and really what i comes down to is the economy- would it really be the wisest decision to move right now and barely make anything on a house we got a great deal on.....umm ultimately NO. I was pretty upset - had my heart on land, a place for kids to grow a ginormous garden, go outside and BE LOUD ( er than usual neighbors! *wink), and just lots of visions..... but then a really funny thing happened- Me and Jeremy prayed. like together. its not something we do a lot truthfully- both of our faiths are as strong as ever, but it has always made me nervous (? another weird thing huh? !) but I felt such a peace afterwards and all I could think of was my friends whom I LOVE dearly, music RIGHT down the street, my itty bitty garden that I truly love having already "ready", my lavender bushes ( yes i know - I even tried to root them to see if I could take a piece and grow it!).......just little non important things ( except the friends one!). YES I still WANT to move to a place out far, a place with land. Right now though I know this is where God wants us. For some reason Im not sure. Just as when I prayed over to Homeschool or not ( that was kinda a no brainer though since I felt God literally screaming at me to GET it already!! lol) one thing I don't take lightly. Homeschooling that is. Its so very challenging to juggle it all but so much more rewarding then anything I have EVER done or experienced in my life - so I have learned one thing through both these adventures- He is my leader and I am so ready to follow........

* getting together a slide show from the past 3 months ( yes !!thats right 3 MONTHS behind!!) think im doing on facebook if I can get it to post so if anyone knows about how to do LMK !! For now, since I cant post with out a PIC :D heres some from a resent trip to the Farmers Market- we went to the BIG one downtown- we will b back for SURE! I love it when they get to pick out any snack they want there and peaches, tomatoes, strawberries and cinnamon apple bread is what they choose ( notice how Jaxs finger is in a lot f them - some blurry - he has to touch all the things there!):D Sorry so long, but thanks for reading :P!

Our spring garden is in FULL bloom!! Was able to dry some herbs lately- lavender,dill, and cilantro- basil will be next thanks to a WoNdErFuL friend who Im sure every year about this time think, "Boy, does Kate need to BUY her own dehydrator" :p lol.
