Avery turnes 2. I just can't believe that my little grandbaby is 2. Phillip and Jenny snuck home from the Hospital to wish Avery a happy birthday. She got a big balloon that sang everytime she tapped it.

She loves the movie Cars and this is the hauler that Lightning McQueen rides in.

She loves Sadie and thankfully Sadie puts up with her.

We all went to Grandma Toths that evening for her party. Her dad made her a Cars cake, with the carsw from the movie.

Eating her piece of Cake, she did not even make a mess. Happy Birthday Avery, we love you.

Our Grandson is born 2-17-11

Our Grandson Phillip James Waken III was born on Feb 17th 2011. He was 6 lb 5 ounce. We were so excited to get him here. He had some trouble breathing and was put in the NICU under a bubble and then on the CPAP machine. We did get to sneak in and see him briefly. I was able to babysit Avery for 3 days and nights and we had so much fun.

Sporting his awesome glasses.

We took the family to see the Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo. Our whole family was there. It is so much fun to spend time together as a family.

Thanksgiving 2010

Thankgiving 2010 was at the Wakens house this year. We had a large group over and had a really good time. My job for the day was to set the table. Phill and Amanda and Aunt Jody did all the cooking. David Haley came into town and spent the holiday with us. Lets see we had our family, Phill, Diane, Phillip & Avery( Jenny had to work we missed you Jenny), Amanda, Megan and Brandon and Caleb, Connie, then the Lee family Paul, Jody, Sarah & Justin, Lindsey and David Haley. That is quite a nice group. After dinner we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Wakens house to visit. We have had a wonderful year with much to be Thankful for especially Family.

We had so many people we had to set up 2 tables, one in the Living Room and one in the Kitchen. The kids were all fighting to eat in the kitchen. Go figure.

Lindsey, Connie, Sarah, Justin got to eat in the Kitchen.
The rest of us had to eat in the Living Room

Halloween

Halloween this year was fun at our house. We carved Sesame Street pumpkins, which you will see below. I think they are really cute. We also had Trunk or Treat at church. Just as we started dinner the electricity went off and was out for about 20 minutes. It finally came back on and we had a really fun evening. Lots of good food, visiting and friends. I put lots of pictures below.

Grandpa and Avery

Grandpa just loves Avery and loves when she spends time with him. Here are some pictures of them playing on the computer.

Camping at Chatfield

For our last camping trip of the year, we decided we wanted to go to Chatfield for the weekend. It is close and has really nice full hookup campground. Phill and Jenny called and ask if we could keep Avery over the weekend because Jenny had to work and Phill had a scout campout. We told them we were going camping but Avery was welcome to come with us. So off we went camping with Avery. Phill and Diane and Avery left early afternoon to set up camp and then the girls came up that evening after work. Also Jody and Paul and their girls came up to camp with. On Saturday evening Mike and Brie and their boys showed up to suprise us and visited for awhile. Mostly we sat around and watched Avery play, we did find a really nice playground that we went to twice. We walked down to the lake and wadded and looked at the boats. All in all it was a wonderful weekend. Here are some pictures.
