A Year in Review

Thought this would be a fun way to remember the year and the blessings, challenges, and fun times that came along with it! Probably more for my own personal nostalgia than for blog readers enjoyment, but here goes...

January
-bid the Jetta farewell
-this cutie gave us a good scare and spent almost a week in the hospital getting IV antibiotics, and finally, surgery to drain a blocked sinus
-started my Pediatrics clerkship, spending a month in Children's Hospital, and beginning to get an idea of what it is I want to do post-med school
-turn the big 2-5, and bid exciting and anticipated birthday's farewell

February
-reunited with best friends (plus little Lucy and baby Charlotte on the way!) from the glory days at Auburn
-enjoyed a B'ham snow
-Bella turns 3
-Campbell turns 2

March
-celebrated the wedding of Riley & Caroline with best friends in Dothan
-this was apparently the only exciting thing that happened this month according my blog history. I was on my surgery rotation so I guess I wasn't seeing too much daylight or free time? Moving on...

April
-baby shower for little Laney
-celebrated hubby's 26th birthday with Gian Marco's and Laura's famed red velvet cake

-fell in love with Chicago...
-on that same trip, made fun of Walker for this fashion statement
-and fell in a fountain while trying to capture the perfect photograph

May
-baby Charlotte arrives!
-great times at the 1st annual Gentlemen of the New South Beach Trip in Santa Rosa
-Memorial Day in Apalachicola

June
-Houston to meet baby Charlotte
-baby Laney arrives!

July
-Margaret & Jake tie the knot in Auburn
-4th of July at Lake Martin with Jen & Pat
-bid the Beasley's adieu as they head to Hong Kong
-Montgomery for a family wedding

 August
-college crew to B'ham for the whole gang to meet Charlotte
-more fabulous weddings
-this pretty girl celebrates a big birthday

September
-turn in residency application (gulp)
-take Step 2 of the Boards
-Walker survives another busy season

October
-Race for the Cure
-Griesheimer's to B'ham
-Gatlinburg with the Norris crew
-tailgating and reuniting with friends in AU
-sunsets at Lake Martin
-Adeline turns 1

November
-interview season and my life on the road (and in the air) begins
-shared Walker (& John's) dance talents via photographs
-visited Charleston for the 1st time and decided it would certainly not be the last
-celebrated 1 year of mom being cancer-free and a joint Thanksgiving in Montgomery

December
-Tour de NC in Charlotte, Chapel Hill, and Winston-Salem
-ATL for SEC Championship
-booked trip to Glendale
-1/2 marathon #2 in Point Clear
-decided from here on out to stick to 10Ks
-Tour de Texas to Houston and Dallas (somehow managed to not photograph this one)
-surprised husband by sharing his 5th grade Casanova-ish love letter on a public forum
-home for Christmas!
-tonight the med school crew will begin marking the entry into our graduation year with a trip to a place that holds countless laughs and good times (think Mexican, you will know where to find us!)

This got long, my apologies. We are so thankful and blessed by the people in our lives and all that happened throughout 2010. Happy New Year's!

Christmas 2010

First off, thanks for all of the comments, texts, and e-mails in response to the last post. It is fun to share our story with friends and family. I'll post more old photos and stories as I eventually get them on my computer, but unfortunately I'm quite certain I shared the most personal, hilarious, and previously unknown aspects of our relationship already, so don't get your hopes up for more posts of that caliber!

Last night we came back to Birmingham after a WONDERFUL week with our families. We took advantage of my time off for interviews and Walker's flexibility with work and were able to spend a full week at home.

Most of the photos of Walker's side of the fam were taken by Lele (and her amazing new lens, which I am in the process of coercing Walker to buy for us)...
We talked, laughed, ate delicious food, laughed some more, and thoroughly enjoyed our time together!
Because we've been on the road so much, little Bella has spent a lot of time recently with my parent's... we've missed this sweet pup!
There was a lot of this going on...
Merry (belated) Christmas from our fam to yours!
