39 weeks...

We had our 39 week appointment today and everything looked good. I am still 3 cm dilated, 100% efaced, but she is now fully engaged in the pelvic region (which basically means she is a lot lower than she was). Again, they told me not to expect to make it past the weekend but we'll see. haha. I've heard that said one too many times. :-) The dr. did say that he thought I would have a pretty fast labor because of the position and dilation I am already at so with my fingers crossed I am hoping to have a nice, easy labor. Again though, we'll see. ha.

I am getting so excited about baby Alli's upcoming arrival. We've only got 6 days until her due date. YAY!!! I can't wait!

P.S. Please be praying for Laney and Sadie (my nieces). They are both sick right now and they have been for about a week so please pray for them to get better quickly so they can hold and love on baby Alli when she comes. (plus I think my sister is about to pull her hair out with 2 sick little ones) :-)

Hopefully next post will be a picture of our little one.....

Love you guys!

38 weeks

I think after getting some rest & having some down time today I am totally ok that Alli didn't come this morning. Now don't get me wrong, I want to hold her & kiss her so bad I can't stand it but at the same time I have to realize that God's timing is perfect & I definitely don't want to rush God. I know He has the perfect birthday for our little girl & the perfect time for her to arrive so as of right now (ha) I am content to keep waiting. After all, it's only 10 days until her actual due date! I'm so happy I've had this day to just kick back & relax (& think). I've spent most of it just sitting out back on a lawn chair playing with the dogs. :-)

Thank you Lord for this beautiful, warm, sunny day!!

False Alarm...

Well, about 2:00 this morning I woke up to what I would describe as HORRIBLE contractions. I am not kidding you when I say I was 100% positive they were coming so fast & hard that I thought she could fall out at any minute because as I've recently learned, each contraction pushes the baby down & into the birthing position. I woke Jeff up about 2:30 & told him I was having them bad. We tried to time them & after timing the first one at lasting about 3 minutes without stopping I was like ok we need to go. So this continues on the whole drive to the hospital. I seriously cannot even talk they hurt so bad. Jeff dropped me off at the emergency room door so he could go park the car and literally when I walked through the entrance the contractions stopped. ERRRR! I couldn't believe it! We decided to go ahead and have them check me just in case. They hooked me up to the fetal heartbeat monitor, contraction monitor, & blood pressure cuff. Baby Alli's heartbeat was good, contractions were very slim, & my blood pressure for the first time was pretty high. 163/97 I think. We waited & waited & waited for someone to come & check my progress. Turns out there were about 4 deliveries at the same time so I didn't even get checked until about 4:30. I had NO CHANGE.... ugh.... So, they checked my blood pressure again & this time it was lower so that was good. Laney, Jamie, mom, & dad were there at this point. Anxiously waiting. :-) Laney brought me a shirt that came off one of her dolls just in case baby Alli wanted to borrow it. So sweet! About 6:00 they checked me again & still no change.... There was however change in my blood pressure. 123/67. Still a little high for me but they weren't concerned at all. So that's when they sent us packing. So after a loooooong night & no progress, as you can imagine, I am VERY disappointed. I am so ready to hold this little girl in my arms. So today I am home from work resting, due to no sleep all night & my blood pressure. Hopefully laying on my booty all day will help (although I don't think it is going to help as far as labor goes. ha)

Thanks so much again, for keeping us in your prayers!

We'll continue to keep you posted. I'm off to sleep a little more....

A few pictures:
I think here I'm trying to read the print out from the machine they have me hooked to....

And by this point I'm pretty sure I'm exhausted & ready to just go home & sleep...

Waiting....

Well, I am still waiting for this little one to make her appearance. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't had two doctors tell me I probably wouldn't make it to the weekend. Now I am just overly anxious, walking with my legs close together just in case my water breaks. haha. If you didn't already know, I am one of the most impatient people you will ever meet. I just don't like waiting. Lines are not so bad, but waiting for events are a killer! I have definitely dropped though and I've lost my "plug" so now I just wait....
Also, my friend Lindsay is graduating this May and is really stressed/worried about finding a teaching job this fall. As you know, it is very hard to find a job right now around here. Please keep her in your prayers as she too is "waiting". Thanks so much for all your prayers and comments!!
We'll continue to keep you posted!

Pregnancy photos

My cousin Amber did a GREAT job with our pregnancy pictures. I am so happy she took them for us. It means so much to me to know that we have so many people surrounding us who are so amazing!! We are so blessed.
Here are just a few of the one's she took:
(I'd post more but for some reason it takes FOREVER to upload pictures on this computer. Errr!)

Thanks Amber!!!

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go....

Ok, so that's not completely true. We did FINALLY pack our hospital bags and put them in the car, but daily we are having to unpack something here and there because we need to use it. I finally found some house shoes after searching EVERYWHERE I could think of for some cute, cheap, slip-on's that I wouldn't mind walking all over the hospital in (I'm not usually a germ-a-phob about stuff like that, but you never know what's lurking on the hospital floors and I don't want to ruin my favorite one's I wear around the house) I just thought it would be fun to also have some "cutsie" slippers to wear around cause happy feet make a happy mama. :-) The cheapest ones I could find for Jeff were $11 and they were the ugly old man slippers, so he gets to wear his same one's he wears at home. :-) The only thing I am worried about is my straightener not making it because I can't pack it yet but luckily my wonderful sister has one so whenever she gets the call saying we are on our way to the hospital, I plan on also reminding her to bring her straightener. For those of you who know me, this mop on my head is not pleasing to the eyes without it. Praise the Lord for the invention of the CHI!

We also had our 37 week appointment today and I am progressing right along. YAY!! I was 3 cm dilated this time & 100% effaced. The dr. said he wouldn't be surprised if I didn't make it to my appointment next Monday because he thinks I'll have her before then. Cross your fingers!! But like my mom keeps telling me "she'll come when she's ready." But I'm like "what if mommy's ready?" haha. I think I am just getting really anxious and excited. I can't wait!! The dr. also told me to take it easy and rest a lot so I plan on taking full advantage of that this next week. :-) I just hope Jeff is up to running all my errands and cleaning house. haha.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

We'll keep you posted!!

Bank Shower...

The bank threw me a baby shower this past Tuesday night here at work. We had such a great time!! I am so blessed to work with the most wonderful people ever!!

Here are some pics from the shower:

Amber made Alli this blanket. So sweet. It matches her room perfectly!

Mendee made this adorable towel doll. SO CUTE!! She also made the tu-tu. I can't wait to take baby Alli's picture in it!!

Amber's baby bump...

They made me close my eyes while they brought me my Pack-N-Play! I LOVE IT!!!
(sorry I don't have a picture of it. I'll post one once we get it set up) Laney dancing....

Me & the gals...
My baby bump... Mmmmm......
Then yesterday, Mendee & Amber surprised me with a gift certificate to get a pedicure. (I guess they had seen my picture from the night before with my yucky toe nails & swollen ankles. haha)

It was wonderful!!!

36 weeks...

Well, we had our 36 week appointment yesterday. We have now officially started once a week appointments. The dr was surprised while doing my exam. His exact words were, "wow girl! You're at 2 1/2 cm & 70% effaced." I was in shock. I was maybe, maybe expecting to be at like 1/2 a cm but 2 1/2. EEK!! He said he's not changing my due date but that I would more than likely go into labor early.

I would believe it after the day I've had. My feet are HUGE and I've had contractions on and off all day. It's so weird how over night my body has changed so much. The dr also said I must have a very high pain threshold because I would have had to have had a couple of big contractions to get me dilated that much. I don't feel like I've had them bad at all. He said hopefully that means I'll have a nice, fast, easy labor. Let's hope!! We came right home after eating and got to work making sure we had everything washed and put away in Alli's room. I am a nervous wreck!!

Other than that I am doing good. Tired though. I'm sitting here right now with my legs propped up with 3 pillows so hopefully the swelling will go down.

They look like I don't even have ankles!!! :-(

oh, and please excuse the polish. They haven't been painted in a while....

I'll keep you all posted!

Alli's room...

We are finally done with Alli's room!!!

My grandma made her bumper. Didn't she do a great job?

I made her crib skirt. For those of you who know me I have never made anything like this before so I am SO happy it turned out right. :-)

Sorry this picture is a little crooked. They say you're off balance a lot during pregnancy. I believe it! I also made these curtains.

Jamie bought me these letters to make a sign with. I love it!

I know this isn't apart of her room but this is her diaper bag.

Here's a few pictures of everyone working on her room...

The making of Alli's bedding...

Thanks to my grandma for making Alli's bumper for her crib. It means so much to me. I can't wait to show Alli these pictures so she can see how much her grandma Gibson loved her even before she was born. I think she did such a wonderful job!! Here are several pictures of the making of her bumper....

Here's what the boys did while we were hard at work

Baby Shower

This Saturday we had the best baby shower ever!!!
My mom, Jamie, me, Lindsay, Stacey and junior hostess Laney. :-)

I realized just how blessed we are to have such wonderful friends and family who care so much. We had a great turn out and the weather was wonderful. PRAISE THE LORD! The week started with the weather calling for rain and 60 degrees. As the week went on, the temperature kept rising and the chance of rain went to 0!!! Prayer works!!! :-) We got tons of great things and had such a wonderful time. It was at the park, brunch style, with lots of yummy treats and juices.

Thank you Brooke and Sarah for the beautiful cake and awesome cookies!!!

Driving home afterward, I was overwhelmed with emotions at how blessed Jeff and I are to have so many people who love us and baby Alli. I wish I could express all of my thankfulness to each and every one of our guests there, so in case you are reading this, we love you all very much and are so thankful for each of you in our lives. We can’t wait to share our precious little baby girl with you.

After the shower my mom, dad, Dustin, Jamie, Brandon, Laney and Sadie came over for a wonderful cook out (compliments to Jeff the cook) and us girls went through all of Alli’s new gifts. FUN!!!

I can't wait for Alli to get to try out all of her awesome new things!

The night before the shower we had a girls night/slumber party to get everything ready. We had a blast!!!

Pretty Sadie in her ballet outfit

Laney. So pretty....

Laney took this picture of Jamie. Not bad....

Me and Dustin relaxing. Laney took this one too. Dustin didn't stay for the slumber party. He was just there to help carry stuff. Stacey & Lindsay being silly. If you look in the mirror you can see mom. This is the only picture I have of her at the sleepover. She's camera shy... :-)
