Sunday Night Live

Sunday night, we always do dinner with my family. This Sunday, my brother-in-law, Brett, brought over "Rock Band." We had SO much fun!! What a cool game! I was the "Band Historian/Groupie." I think I did a pretty good job :) Caden kept saying, "We're rocking on, Mommy!" We definitely were :) Look at Naty, she is way into this game :)

The Last Reunion

So, the last time that Apt. #17 (AKA Val, Lu, Rach, and I) all got together was back in 2003. In just a few weeks, we are going to have a baby shower for Lu in Vegas. Unfortunately, Val lives on the other side of the USA, so she won't be there in body, but we know she'll be there in spirit :) Anyways, I think that we made my husband take seriously hundreds of pictures to document our 2003 reunion. He won't be there this time, but hopefully Mike (Rach's husband) and Marc (Lu's husband) will be prepped on their duties and obligations to take literally hundreds of pictures of us so that we can have blogging/scrapbooking material :) I'm SO excited to see you, girls!!

Ever had "one of those days"?

Yah, me too. Dexter is notorious around here for pulling his hair out when he gets worked up about pretty much anything. Horrible as it sounds, we all get a good laugh about it :)

Shower Scum

In our new house, we have glass doors around our shower. I am looking for some advice on how to keep these glass doors from getting water stains. Does anyone have a product that they like or a method that helps keep these stains under control?

Hard Core Mama's

So, Lucky Me got to have a blast from my California past this last weekend! My awesome friend and ex-visiting teaching companion, Carrie Rhodes, came down with her beautiful family to run the Painter's 1/2 Marathon with me! We have been emailing to keep each other motivated for this run. (She was WAY more diligent than I was about training, but we still managed to have a great time running around St. George with 1500 other people :) Carrie is 5 months pregnant and just amazed me with how easy she made it look. SO hard core!!! She even went running yesterday...I'm WAY too sore to even think about that until next week :) Also, my amazingly cute and wonderful little sister, Natalie, kept Carrie and I motivated during the run :) She was seriously our cheerleader the whole way! Naty and I haven't done a run together in YEARS so this was such a treat for me! She even ran across the finish line with me :) Thanks, Anty Gub! The weather couldn't have been better! The running part was fun, but it was even better to get to hang out with the Rhode's and feel like no time had passed. Her husband, James, is a professional viola player so they are trying to move to the east coast. I feel so lucky that we got to be together for even just a little while before they move. Thanks for coming down, Carrie!! Love you guys!!

Sorry, I didn't post all of these pages in order...however, these are the last 2 pages in the book. There were 34 pages in total.

Our Book

I finally finished a really big project--documenting/writing/compiling some of the special things that happened during the time that Shaune had cancer. This is one of my favorite pages from the book. Since I was thinking about it tonight, I thought that I would post a page.

Just Hanging Out

It was SUCH a beautiful, crisp afternoon here in St. George, that I just couldn't resist putting off my errands to take them to the park and play :) Despite Dexter's bewildered look, we all enjoyed the fresh air and bright warm sunshine :)

A visit with Grandma Fiala

My cute Grandma Fiala has been in St. George visiting this week. I just LOVE her!! She has such a good sense of humor and is forever special to me. I love the way she always has a "project" to work on. (She is a fabulous quilter/crocheter/knitter). Her hands are always going with knitting needles it seems like. If she isn't knitting, she is reading. My mom is a voracious reader, just like my Grandma.
Today, she treated us girls to lunch at our favorite lunch place, Taco Bell :) Over the last few years, I feel like I have gotten to know Grandma so much more. I feel closer to her than ever before.
I love this picture because I caught her with her big smile :) I love my Grandma's laughter...it is seriously contagious! Every time I get to talk to her on the phone, we have a good laugh about something, and it just makes my day.

ADDICTED

Yup, the title is right, I'm totally addicted to this laundry detergent that I can only find at Target. Not entirely sure why this can't be found at any other stores, but I AM sure that if I Google'd it, my answer could be found :) (Just too lazy for that tonight.) Anyways, when I met Shaune, I just LOVED the way he smelled. He always smelled like he had just jumped out of the washing machine. I finally had to ask him what he washed his clothes with...Tide with Bleach. It's pretty expensive detergent, but far cheaper than cologne.
When I wanted to treat myself after we got married (while he was in school), I would buy Tide with Bleach. A few weeks ago, while at Target, I saw this beautiful bottle of Tide. It looked new. It looked exciting. It beckoned me to buy. I did. I am a changed woman. For you "good smelling laundry" addicts, like myself, this is the detergent to buy. I'm seriously in love with it. However, as I am always on the hunt for the best "clean linen" smell for our clothes, if there is anyone out there who has something that might be fabulous like this Tide x2, please let me know :) Otherwise, take the time to indulge yourself in this wonderfully new product!

Montana Wonderland

Every year, we go up to Montana to be with the Wallace's, either for Christmas or New Year's. This year was extra special because Sterling (the youngest of the 5 Wallace boys) got home from his mission the day before he came to the cabin! He was serving in Argentina, and speaks Spanish like a native Argentine! It was SO fun to get to catch up with him! We played in the snow alot. Caden loved it. Dexter hated it (see numerous pictures of him crying...definitely a desert boy). It is so beautiful and peaceful at the cabin, this time had to be one of my most favorite visits. I got to spend lots of time getting to know my newest sister-in-law, Linden. She is married to Spencer. What a great girl! I just loved the time I had to talk to her. She comes from a family of 13 children! On our way home, I asked Caden who his favorite cousin was, to which he responded, "Auntie Linden!" What a funny boy :) We found great deals at a local quilting store and kept them busy until 45 minutes after their closing time :) Dexter and Caden got lots of attention from the family which they totally soaked up! One of my most favorite afternoons was spent playing with Caden in the snow. We threw snowballs, ate snow, went tobagoning and on many sled rides looking for Papa (who had a little snow-mobile mishap that required all the boys to go and get him out of :). Everyone returned in one piece, and the only problem was that the visit was not long enough. Luckily, we'll be back soon enough! Thanks, Mom and Dad for a great vacation!! We love you!

New sign

Thanks to Sister Wolsey for getting this nice sign for my office. I like the vinyl lettering. We are continually working to enhance our image.
