November 2012

Wow...to blog or not to blog???
It's been so long...not quite sure how I do this anymore.
The days don't seem to have enough hours...so not sure if I'm able to keep up with this anymore.
We'll give it a try...and see what happens.

Easter 2011

Here are some pics from Easter....my camera konked out so some of these are imported from others. It seems to be quite the trick to get an almost 4 year old to smile!

This is one of his good friends at Church. She joined our family picture. Love her. (yes, she has her own loving family that our little boy fits into at times too!)
Another attempt.

This is outside of the Church where Steve has been serving since last year.

Great Place. Great People. Great God!

Looking Up.

Other than it looks like I'm nearly in a choke hold...it's great!

They crack me up!

And this is her little sister...another friend.

Easter was a little bit chilly this year...at least the snow had melted.

Driving out to the country church for the sunrise service was breathtaking...watching the sun come up over the horizon (across the fields)...it was beautiful!

We had a fun breakfast after church...complete with sausages (of many varieties), eggs (hot, hard-boiled), rolls, fruit, and jelly beans. It was yummy.

We were then invited to lunch with a family from the church. The whole church has taken us in like family. We are blessed.

In the last 3 months...

We've finally gotten around to potty training and ditching the paci (that would be pacifier)! (Yes, it's only taken almost 4 years...but we knew we were ready & so was he!). Neither of which has been flawless. The potty training has worked well if he only has to pee....pooping on the potty...another issue. We still seem to be washing clothes from "accidents" more often than not...but it's getting better. As for the paci....it hasn't been that long, but it's going pretty well. Just need to think of some new "calming" strategies as the paci was stellar at accomplishing that feat. Just pop it in and it immediately seemed to do the trick. I've tried gum...doesn't seem to have the same affect/effect. (it also wouldn't seem to be the best tactic with him going to school in a couple years!) We'll continue trying.

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. I'm pretty certain we skipped spring and will jump into summer. Off to a state park today to look at eagles! Yay!

It's been a long time

After reading a friend's blog, I realized it's been 3 months since I've posted anything.

Then I tried to think of what has happened in the last 3 months....a lot!

So, instead of posting a lot...I'll just post a little.

This is a picture of our not so little boy!

Amazing how time flies!

He keeps us on our toes.

And we love him!

Trains & Thanksgiving

Around Thanksgiving we ventured to the Jackson Street Roundhouse in St. Paul to take in the sights and sounds. Even included a short train ride. These boys definitely enjoyed themselves.
Also involved checking out big & little trains.

It seems with every trip to the Cities we never fail to get Micah to "Bandana Squares". It's actually Bandana Square and it houses the Twin Cities Model Railroad. M LOVES it!
(I don't think Grandpa minds too much either!)

The entrance to Jackson Street Roundhouse.
I'm pretty sure it met with the approval of the young lad!

He is our train boy!

Viking Fever

For those of you that don't know, Steve is a die-hard Vikings Fan. Yes...each year he starts the year by saying..."We're going to the Superbowl!" This year was no exception.

Early in the season we would get all geared up to watch the games.
Micah was taught all the important phrases...like "Go Vikings" "Touchdown"...
As the season wore on....
We tried to keep smiling.
It was fun while it lasted.
Unfortunately the season for the Vikings didn't end in a trip to the Superbowl. In fact, it was probably the weirdest season....and the icing on the cake was when the Dome ripped and deflated because of snow. It really was a fitting end to a sad season.
Don't worry folks, my husband will be back next fall in all his purple & gold glory, ready to cheer his team on to the Superbowl.
In the meantime......praise the Lord for baseball.
And so we move on...
Go Twins!!

For you....

This is for my dear friend who "checks this every morning" usually to be greeted by the same post because it hasn't been changed for days....er, ah...weeks.....ah, rather....months!

I want her to know that I am so excited for her....and a little envious (in a good way if there is such a thing). You see, in a few short days she and her husband will be boarding a plane for several hours to fly around the world to bring home their boys. She has waited for this day for years, literally. I know the "process" to adopt the boys began nearly 2 year ago, but I know the process began in their hearts long before then. I can only imagine her world right now. Even though there has been so much time, it never fails there is always more to do. Preparing her house, tidying up things for work, as an accountant it also happens to be the busiest time of year, not to mention the countless other loose ends that need to be tied. So, my dear, right now I pray. I pray for you, for your husband, for your two boys. I pray for the tasks you need to accomplish and the ones you don't. I pray for the traveling, the meeting, the return. I pray for your emotions which I'm sure are running a million miles an hour. No, you're not crazy. You are filled with so much love. Thank you for being an example to me, to others. Thank you for loving these orphans. Thank you for committing to take care of them as your own. Thank you for allowing us to join you in the next chapter and adventure of your lives. Thank you for Glowing with the love of Jesus.
And so, I continue to Thank God every time I remember you.
And I pray.

And if you're reading this now, won't you pray too....

and to my friend--you know who you are--I love you!
Go & Get You're Boys!!!!!
