Silver Beach in July...Quick trip to Northeastern MN part 1

On our quick trip to Northeastern MN we stayed the night at Silver Beach (Covenant Pines).
It was beautiful!
We stayed in one of the cabins. Ahhhhh....the memories!
We were even able to take in one of my favorite Silver Beach Sunsets.
The boys by the cabin.
M wanted to go in the boat. We actually did go in the canoe. The rowboat had a bit of water in it.
Fun teeter-totter times.
M was convinced he wanted the chair in the water. So that's where it went.
If only we had a few more days to hang out at Silver Beach. No worries however, we'll be back. M spent most of his waking moments in the water. He wanted to be in the water the moment he woke up til the moment he went to sleep. He even went from the water to the campfire.

Softball Tourneys

Steve loves playing ball and played in a softball tournament on what could have been the hottest day in Fargo, ND! We were slathered in sunscreen and did not win the "die hard fan" award as we came late and visited DQ during the games.
The genius who placed DQ right across the street from the ball park should be commended.

M wanted to be in the dug-out most of the time.

If he wasn't in the dugout, he was running around the bases. He's a speedster.

He doesn't have the concept of actually touching the bases...he just likes to sprint around them. He just likes to sprint!

A popular photo spot...the couch!

So we've been blessed by fun visitors this summer. Angela came and spent a night. She was a good sport and ended up braving the heat with us to watch Steve play ball in Fargo.
Annalise's cousin Michelle came back for a visit. M had lots of fun with these two!

And yes, our dear friend Annalise before she set out for her next life adventure. Seattle you are gaining a beautiful young lady for which we are so grateful.
Thank you Annalise for loving & caring so much for M.
Thank you for loving & caring so much for us.
Words cannot express how much you mean to us.
We love you, pray for you, and know God has great things in store for you.

MN Science Museum

In our quick trip to Mpls...we also visited the Science Museum so Steve & Grandpa could see the Dead Sea Scrolls. M's favorite part of the Musuem quite possibly was the "treat" he ate with "Ms" on the top.

Showing Daddy the sites.

MN Zoo

At the end of June we visited the MN Zoo with some good friends. The Hot Spot at the zoo for the boys was the Farm area. M & Daddy had a good time on the tractor.
M was combing the goat...until the goat got too close...M wasn't too thrilled at that point.

Our friend who was hiding in the next group photo. I think she may have just wanted her own photo shoot! :)
It was a hot day at the zoo...but oh so fun to see our friends the Nelsons'.
We love you, miss you, & pray for you often.

Following Daddy

Posts

A dear friend of mine told me that she reads this every morning. At that point a wave of guilt flooded over me thinking of the days, weeks, months that have gone by and there has been nothing posted. I didn't realize it was watched so closely. Thank you Jesus that we have friends that are interested in our lives!

So...I will try to do a better job of journaling along the way...I know we will be able to look back and appreciate it someday. Pictures may not always arrive...but at least some stories will. And, ways that you can continue to pray for us...as we have discovered we so need it!

Today, after work, after the car gets worked on (ugh?!), we have a mini vacation planned. We're headed to the farm (north of Duluth where my mom grew up). On the way we plan to stop at Covenant Pines/Silver Beach where I worked for many years and spend the night. (kind of helps to break up the trip...driving across MN on a two-lane can take quite a bit of time) Then we'll go the rest of the way tomorrow. Meet up with Grandma, Grandpa, & Uncle Johnny. Possibly head north of their to visit relatives, then hang out. Saturday we'll go to Duluth so M & Grandpa can go to the Depot & we can take in Canal Park. Ahhhhh...such great memories there. After that we'll head back as Steve is preaching on Sunday morning. He's been serving a small country church this summer. On Sundays M tells him, "You're Pastor Steve." (always good to be reminded of by a 3 year old!)

So...that's the plan...thanks for your prayers in advance. I'm sure we'll have stories to tell.

VBS & Fergus Parade

Planet Zoom was the theme & as you can tell M like the Zoom part!!!
Here's the final program...he's behind some kids on the left side so good luck picking him out.
VBS was a new adventure for this lil' boy. It took a while to get him in the door...I think the entrance the first day for this new 3 year old was a bit overwhelming. He didn't know what to think with all the activity, bustle, and people. So...each day was a new trick to try to get him to "BS" as he started calling it. (he would leave out the V in saying it). After huge crocodile tears we got him there and he did like it. We still have yet to pick up the cd...but I think we'll get it this week...we have a few road trips coming up that it will come in handy to pass away the time.

This was at the Fergus Summerfest Parade. He scored TONS o Candy. He particularly liked the lolli-pop that turned his lips blue (and everything around him!)

Target Field!

Yes, Here it is...Target Field. We have made our pilgrimage to the new Stadium. I think it was a dream come true for Steve! Of course after hearing the tv announcers (Dick & Bert) go on and on about the stadium it was actually fun to get there ourselves.

We took the train from the northern suburbs. (I think that was M's favorite part!)
As you can tell by the look on his face when he saw the train coming to the station.

We took some dear friends with us to the game.

And yes, it is a pretty great field with a great view of the city. M was more interested in watching the trains than the game however.

We probably won't be back to Target Field again this summer...but we'll be back!
