I forgot how charming 12 year old boys are...

Meanwhile, lets indulge in V-day commercialism.
"Someone will open a Tiffany Valentine"
Please open mine!!!
USD 1500.
I'm sure you'll be glad to spend it to make me happy?
How about really, really happy?
How about head over heels, over the moon happy?
PRETTY PLEASE?!?!!

FYI, my 12 year old friend(JW), from Geylang methodist primary school leadership camp, is really adorable.

...
JW: Hello jie jie, how 2 do this wan: if x is 6. 6x equals to wat?
WY: blah blah blah
JW: Oh now i know my abc, thank you jie jie.
WY: blah blah blah
JW: Very bored, jie jie can we talk?
WY: blah blah blah having dinner blah blah busy...
JW: Eat some healthy food, don alway eat maggie mee...
JW: Jie gd nite.

SO SWEET right. Haha. He seems to be showing two sides of himself, alternating between the mature & the 12-year-old side of him. SO CUTE. I hope its not a crush or anything though.

P.S. I have a new eye-candy candidate to add to my list. Yay. School looks slightly more palatable...

The Lions Scored & Kallang Roared

Thanks to Aziz.
Here's my ticket to the match!
I have 1 complaint though.
They confiscated my precious plastic water bottle,
when I really needed water for my throat.
Stupid standard procedures.
If I had a plastic bottle,
I won't waste it by flinging it at the M'sian section,
Cause I'd have thrown it at YOU.

For the first time in my life,
The Kallang National Stadium field looks this gorgeous!
The crowd was unusually patriotic.
They sang the national anthem with so much vigour than on National Day itself.
FYI, We braved the wind & the rain through the first half of the match.
0-0 at Half-time.
You arm-chair viewers dont know what you're missing.

Check out the 55 000 strong crowd last night.
See the Kallang wave!
(Theres a slight difference in the colour gradient. That's the wave, coming towards me.)
It was hard to insulate yourself from the electrifying atmosphere.
These fans were super HIGH.
M'sia scored first. (That was a stupid mistake.)
Thank god for the equalising goal.
After which, I think some people got into a fight at the M'sia/S'pore fans boundary.
Then, the crowd started cheering gleefully, "fight, fight, fight!" (Including Huiting, haha.)
That's when the policemen came in.
There were a couple of oscar-worthy performances on the pitch as well. Tsk tsk.
Unfortunately, the (kayu) referee was reluctant to give any more cards/fouls at the end of the match,
so the game dragged on through extra time and all.
Finally, it came to the penalties.
People say you get your money worth.
I say I'll get cardiac arrest.

The crowd celebrating S'pore's win after an intense penalty shootout.
So it was a rollercoaster ride, at the very least.
People threw numerous paper planes (made from the nike posters),
instead of water bottles.
Aziz can't throw paper planes for nuts (sigh).

So, in a nutshell, it was a great night. I had 2 posts for 1 saturday! I havnt had such an eventful day in ages. Well, Aziz was our MVP for the night. He sponsored our tickets, provided snacks, water, ponchos, newspapers & great company. Huiting & I had to give him an A grade for that. He even obliged us to to take stupid, un-macho pictures of him. I think the real AZ got kidnapped by aliens & sent a lousy imposter in his place. He was so overwhelmingly nice, we got scared. Well, the crowd going home was intimidating. We had supper to wait for the crowd to dissipate. We had the mandatory prata for supper, which probably took a 30mins wait. AZ subsequently earned his A+ grade when he queued for us & got us cutlery! See. That's why we were suspicious. Hur hur. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for his efforts to be our A+ guy. Huiting was fabulous company too, aka my partner in crime. :) Beware of our 'Rating scale'.

See you guys at the FINALS!

Boys will be Boys. I wont/cant change that.

My school week ended nicely on thursday night, after my TWC meeting. Yesterday, I visited the clinic which had me waiting for 2 hours. Lady luck totally turned her back on me because it rained cats & dogs at 4+ when i was supposed to be at Toast at RafflesPlace at 3. Due to the heavy rain & traffic, the cab driver was going at 60km/h!!! Poor Elvin spent forever waiting for me. Haha. Paiseh, but the food was lovely. Hazelnut cupcake! Next, i spent my evening at Kallang MRT waiting an hour for Hua, Becca & Johanes. We then went for the pre-camp briefing & training. After much difficulty with the rope jumping game (duh) & many roll-eye responses to a few MCP-ish guys, we left the place with Kenny, for Geylang- for some supper. DURIAN!!!

So in the mist of a dewy morning, I went to Geylang Methodist Primary School via Cab at 6+am (YAWN) this morning. And my smartypants cabby didnt know where the place was. Grr. Luckily, we found the place eventually. I expected a cab ride screw up, what I DIDNT expect was that GMPS was a little (okay, fine, not so little) shop of horrors. The kids, especially the boys, were UNCONTROLLABLE. Haha. I shouted myself hoarse & the kids are still louder & noiser than me. It's so tough trying to tell them something. Oh well, I'm glad I survived the camp. I just hope that they werent too bored.

Despite everything, I thought they were an adorable bunch. Regardless of the fact that they fought uncountless times, argued with each other endlessly, chasing each other around the classrooms, whining about going to the toilet, about going to buy drinks, about being hungry. We were supposed to teach them values of integrity, responsibility, respect, co-operation and compassion. I doubt we actually used any of them. The only thing they learnt was probably like my age or something. Haha. It was too much effort to get them to play the game properly according to the original rules. Having fun is more important, since trying to discipline them is wayyyyyyyyyy out of my limited abilities. Its probably easier to get a pig to fly 10metres. Comparing these bunch with my quieter Zhenghua Primary kids, the latter were ANGELS. They really were. Genuinely enthusiastic & co-operative. No discipline problem, just playful kids.

The kids in my care today were quite funny, because they seem to think that every other guy facilitator is my boyfriend.
"Eh, jie jie, you got boyfriend???"
"Nah, dont have..."
"EH, confirm got loh..."
"Eh, jie jie, the 2 of them are damn handsome leh. Your boyfriends ah? "
"EW. NO lah!"
"Eh, teacher, that one handsome, your boyfriend is it?"
"AHHHHHhhh!!! You like, is it? I tell him for you. Haha. "
They called me teacher, Ms chua, or jie jie. Haha. Quite weird huh. Hurhur. I feel OLD again. I'm like 8 years older than them. At the same time, I feel sorry for Johanna, the long suffering Class monitress. I'm also really glad for Jia Wei who helped me carry my stuff, keep a lookout for my phone, pulls out a chair for me sit n blah blah blah. He was basically being my helpful handy assistant.Gentleman in the making! He has the "ah beng" Seh-ness also, plus he knows how to bootlick everyone. Haha. Bryan too, is always very eager to do things. Gladys is really upright & shes a no-nosense kinda girl. I wished i had her guts when i was in primary school. Haha.

I guess today reminded me very much of my own primary school days. My pri 5 class was notoriously BAD & playful & mischievous. I missed those days. Haha. These kids really brought back memories. So, I'll thank all of them for doing that.

Saturday night fever

Desserts at Spizza.
My 'Classic Venetian Tiramisu' (in the foreground).
Hmmmm...
Creammmmy.

Mark's 'Honeydew Sherbert'.

The Elvin's 'Profiterols'.

My journey to Harbourfront was fraught with so many dangers. I think I was really fortunate for being able to make it to dinner in 1 piece. Thanks guys, for not complaining about my 30min lateness. Well, I had missed my bus after my dad refused to give me a lift in the horrid weather. Next, I got caught in the rain, passed by a car in the drain on the ride. Then my bus almost got rammed into by this garbage truck, which managed to brake in time, missing us by a few inches. Dinner made up for all that since it was pleasant enough, i had good food & food company.

After which, I went over to St James to find Huaz & friends. Gosh, the NUS bash appeared really popular. I met Karene and Kenneth there too. Haha, whatever happened to the SMU 'Back to School' Bash? Anyway, I realised why I dont like school bashes, they talk too much & the crowd is disappointing. Powerhouse played remixed RnB/HipHop/Pop hits, rather than electro-house. The acrobatic display/performance was probably to add some exotic or novel factor to Powerhouse on a competitive Saturday night club scene. The dancers are a good idea though. They should install poles on that high level stage too. It would be cool to perform there, away from the maddening crowd.

The other place which we visited was the TigerLive's Boiler Room, which had good live music. I love the 2 female singers. I love their sparkly/glittery turquoise eyeshadow too. Muahaha. Oh, by the way, it seemed like they recycled the playlist from last saturday. Doi. Nevertheless, at 10+pm, we the first 3 people on the dancefloor. & the (cock) DJ had to announce that, making us quite paiseh. Haha.

We stopped by Station Kitchen for a break at 12+ to 1pm for Huiting's late-night dinner. She had a mutton murtabak. She had no complains (except for the price), so its should be alright. I had the iced 'cooling red dates longan drink', which is just like Chingteng, so its double thumbs up from me. One cant have a better drink to chill out to (no pun intended again, haha).

We need to come back to the Peppermint Park soon because it looks really comfortable. I love the wooden swings. Its a good place for a late-night birthday gathering.

Oh, I've visited Dragonfly too. Finally. There was nothing much to be hyped about, because there wasnt any performances by the SIRs. Haha. The crowd is mostly older uncles & aunties, older (& prolly richer) Ah bengs & Ah lians.

We left at around 2+pm, but we got detained at the exit. I suppose that there were some security issues because we saw MANY police vans. There might be some tip-offs or something along those lines. The drama didnt stop there. Our taxi driver was the cutest one i've met in my entire life. Cute as in he was like a walking "Dating for Dummies 101"! He was giving Mervin tips on how to jio girls. Hahaha.

Our TV sets are drenched in pseudo reality,
When the truth is Endemol can't save you from mundane existence.
Twelve unknowns light up 7 million homes,
Yet the news at ten is barely watched,
As it's the same old war again.
Lets talk about romance,
Romance is dead.
An ideology exploited for commercial gain.
They want you to fall in love
With the idea of being in love,
Because nothing says I love you better than flowers and chocolates and cards.

But its all right now,
I can see clearer now,
Its all right now,
Now your head is up out of the clouds.

You can call me a cynic,
But at least I'm realistic.
I went to Ikea today,
It didn't change my life.
Yet everyone in my street is going Scandinavian,
it's like the upper east side in semi-detached suburban Britain.
You have to ask yourself why?
Its like whitewash is brainwash,
They're diluting out style.

remembe(red)

I havn't lost anyone, have I?
Because, after all that, I feel as if I've made a brand new friend.
It's kinda refreshing, like newly popped opened soda.
I quite like it this way.
I hope you do too.

"Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn’t do for you

Hate me in ways
Yeah ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what’s good for you"

Little miss fix-it.

Whatever happened to the care-free, always happy girl i once knew? Ian said she seemed troubled.

I'm trying to solve the problem, cause i miss having her around. Being like this is exhausting. How do depressed people STAY depressed?!?

So, the problem is something like this. A girl & a bee were friends, until the bee stung her. She tried to extract the bee sting as carefully as possible, so as to keep the body intact, in order to reduce the suffering of the bee as well as to prevent it from dying. Slowly, as time went by, the sting remained there, yet the bump has swollen considerably. She is miserable from the constant pain and she has been doubting herself about this bee(friend, hurhur pun unintended). She wants to pull it out in a rage, fling it aside and carry on with life. And, I'm trying to help her with that. Pass me the tweezers.

What is it with people who treat you with such insensitivity when there was already an established common understanding?
Who made me so bitchy?
I dont see the girl anymore.

My day is simply an empty cup.

Problem 1: My brilliant AS TA somehow managed to make my AS assignment disappear & accused me of not submitting my work. Thanks. I really needed that.

Problem 2: The school salsa performance team has auditions again... The dilemma is that im tempted to go but i feel so put-off by the last time. On top of that, im really outta practice. Finally, its also about a matter of pride because they had rejected me earlier. I can't handle rejection really well... yet.

NoRMaNDo says:
jus go play play at the audition
NoRMaNDo says:
but seriously... do u really want to be in the team?
Warazz| says:
audition isnt play play
Warazz| says:
no fun at all
Warazz| says:
i dont know
Warazz| says:
mixed feelings
Warazz| says:
im not DYING to be on the team
Warazz| says:
yeah
Warazz| says:
tts why my dilemma
Warazz| says:
i dont have that hunger for the place in the team either
NoRMaNDo says:
hmmm,... then i say don't go.
NoRMaNDo says:
because being in the team requires much commitment n time
NoRMaNDo says:
so if u not prepared to give tat... it's may turn out miserable for u
NoRMaNDo says:
n i tink u need more time for yr studies too...
NoRMaNDo says:
as well as hanging out with us....

Ideal solution for problem 2: I wish I was a smart-ass genius & i'd get my 4.3GPA without having to mug at all, so that i can be a stuck up straight A student(who can smirk at the scholars. Haha.) At the same time, I'd have more time to maintain my social activities & do more meaningful things like poledance and salsa. School is an extremely inefficient use of time. :(

Real solution for problem 2: I don't know. All i can do now is wallow in self-pity & directing all my anger at the AS TA who happened to ruin my day.

These are times when i wish for someone to hold me & console me, telling me that everything is gonna be ok, because we exist & thats all that matters.

Conclusion: Life SUCKS (for today only, I hope.)

I heart JOSEPH (& WIDAH) !

Birthday Girl WIDAH.
Happy Birthday!!!

My Salsa girlies & I having their 11+pm dinner at Station Kitchen.
We had the most interesting servers there. Haha.

Well, my week in school has been alright I suppose. I met my salsamates on friday night for Widah's surprise Birthday Late-night dinner. After alot of frustrating planning and attempted organising, we eventually reserved a table at the Station Kitchen's Charcoal grill at the new St James Power Station. I met Widah earlier to walk around Vivocity, but as it got later, we decided to check out all the clubs at St James while waiting for the rest of them to arrive. Unfortunately, it was pouring... Thank goodness for umbrellas. For the first time, I felt compelled to make my umbrella look hip enough for clubs. Haha.

1. Well, we visited Movida first. No salsa music- just boring chill-out Latin Jazz.
2. Next, we popped by TigerLive. Smoky.
3. Bellini Room is filled with well-heeled, older and more sophisticated patrons. There was this live singer on the stage, giving his all.
4. Gallery Bar has nice views!
5. Powerhouse played tame house music which didnt do much to make us feel better in the wet weather. It has no shelter from the main entrance... They should do something about it.
6. Dragonfly- I didnt even step in. The entrance was PACKED, with ah lians, ah bengs and the likes.
7. Boiler Room. Where was that?! So apparently, its just an extension of the TigerLive room. Widah & I checked it out for a short while. The DJ sucked because he kept interrupting the music to talk crap & remind ladies to go on the podium. Just shut up & get a life man... Well, the crowd is still significantly older than MOS patrons. I see middle-aged people trying to let their hair down and dance, but i just get annoyed because they keep bumping into us. Please, if you have a big bag, just deposit it lahhhhh. (grumbles.)

Dinner (my second one that night) at the charcoal grill was pretty alright. I liked the grill concept, plus the ingredients were fresh enough. So that was it, I rushed home to ZZZzz since i had school the next morning.

Saturday was spent in school having my 'Technology & World Change' lesson. I believe I'm starting to like my Italian Prof despite his thick accent and soft speaking voice. He has a subtle sense of humour which tickles me. But i'll only catch it if i strain to listen to him. I had lunch with Tanu, rushed home, passed Marie's Birthday gift to Sam. After which, I rushed to Rafflescity to have dinner with Tracy at Coffeeclub. Dessert was at OUTP, as shown above. Finally, rushing to the Substation to watch the play.

I dont know if i'm being too critical about the following plays, because I was taught to have high standards. On top of that, I am some sort of theatre practitioner myself. Not that I'm a pro or anything, but at least i had some forms of experience from my avant garde teacher/director/mentor/friend Mr Gary Tang. He influenced us to expect more from any artistic productions, which is only fair since we have to be discerning viewers, rather than passive absorbers. I've since moved on from Drama/Role-playing as it's so primary school! (Anyone is capable of that. )

The 1st play was about casual relationships set in a high-schoolish context. This poor boy called Joe (Somebody Asshole) is invisible, used, mocked, ridiculed by his peers. So his confusion turned into dislike, then into hate(which he tried to deny and suppress), until he realised that his long-time crush has morphed into one of "them" too. Sigh, typical high school geek story. Dude, live with it. You will find your own friends eventually. I just thought it was another done to death topic with no new layers or perspective to it. Its basically the retelling of the modern school-boy geek who is socially awkward & EMO.

The 2nd one involved 2 college boys talking about this guy's 1-sided love relationship and his super long wait for the girl's (impossible) phonecall. Its redeeming quality is the humourous presentation of this common situation experienced and faced by many, many people. I liked the lovelorn boy's portrayal as it looked genuine. His friend, Peter seemed entrenched in the clockwork routine of rehearsals. I didnt see Peter's soul in the performance. He always seemed as if he was merely waiting to say his lines.

The 3rd one was about people and their struggle to meet society's expectations of slimness, their struggle with their body image & self esteem. The lines were mostly in poetic verses, which aesthetic quality made it more appealing to me than the first. It was performed via symbolism, metaphors & monologues. Not as refreshing as it could be, but better than some melodrama script.

After the play, i went to MOS with Tracy, because the UPPERCLUB had less people in it, than i have fingers. Sigh. So last min salsa plans became clubbing plans because once u get me started on the idea of dancing, i'll need an outlet immediately. Well... i thought i wasted 15bucks because i left at 12. Oh well...

OH, i almost forgot! I've met my dream guy! His name is Joseph. Hes an Australian and hes good-looking(tousled light brown hair, big, clear eyes), charming and well-mannered. The only problem is that hes a toddler and he still can't talk. :( I'm born wayyyy too early. Tracy & I met him at OFTP. He was at the table next to us and he winked at me when i happened to look at him. OMG, i just swooned. How am i supposed to resist his charms when hes looking like that? He's a big flirt, according to his mother. She's right. I swear he'd be the most CHARMING gentleman in 18 years time. I told him unabashedly that i want to be his girlfriend in 18 years time and he widened his eyes, whipped his head away and blushed furiously, as if he knew what I was talking about! SO ADORABLE!!! Sigh...

My dessert at Out Of The Pan at Rafflescity, the Marketplace.
JAFFA Stack - the famed one which Harry enjoyed 2 weeks ago.
It was super filling, I couldnt run to the Substation after that. (We were late.)
PS. Joseph was staring at it longingly.

Weekday update

Sunday was a really FUL-FILLing day, because i overate at the Hi-tea buffet at Swissotel Merchant Court. The variety was pretty reasonable for the price of 22+++ but the quality of it is in doubt. Or maybe I just cant get used to a standard below that of Raffles Hotel's Tiffin Room. The latter is the best, udisputedly. Gosh, I miss them so much! I wanna try Goodwood Park's Hi-tea too. Im sure it will come a close second to Raffles.

Well, today(monday) is a sunny day which started off freezing in my Econs class this morning. I had lunch with my Sem1 friends and they are always a joy to hang out with. Haha. After that, I rushed down to Bedok to attend Rach's Grand dad's wake.

The first surprise i got, was that the place seemed extremely familiar to me. Then, it struck me. I came here before... in the 2nd half of 2004, with my ex & his soccer kakis. Yeah, it was weird, because i would have never imagined coming back to this ULU place again. Haha.

Afterwhich, poor sick & tired Rach was ranting to us about her problems. Family and office politics. Why is life so complicated? Why cant people be civil to each other? Then we'll have world peace...

Well, i had my VIRGIN experience on Norman's motorbike today. It was cool man. I never knew that the helmet was so heavy. I think if i shifted my head too much to 1 side, i'll prolly fall off his bike. The experience was exhilarating! We were on the ECP and the wind was so strong. I had never imagined that the wind resistance outside the car was this strong. The view i had today was completely different. Suddenly, i felt as if i could touch the skyscraper in the distance, if i reached my arm out far enough. I admit i was kinda apprehensive at the beginning, but i swear a motorbike ride is addictive. The most amusing part about the ride was that I was wearing my shortest mini skirt (Hey, i didnt know i was gonna be riding right???!) So, i seriously felt like a true-blue chao ah lian on a motorbike with her ah beng/Pia kia boyfriend. Haha. And i seemed to notice a number of stares from lorry uncles. :S

Then it was delicious dinner at Out of the pan at rafflescity. We took FULL advantage of their 1 for 1 deal on monday afternoons. It was good, seriously. Go check it out yourself.

POLEDANCE! It's tiring to say at the very least. We did the basic swings, the fireman swing & the geisha swing. On top of that, we had the usual things like hip rolls, body waves etc in the routine. Its harder for me to perform the swings on the left side, but how am i supposed to practise?! Whose the one with the pole installed in his room???

A ??? day

I had the most... extraordinary day.

Bad- I missed my bus in the morning and had to wait ages for the 2nd one. The bus then moved along at a SLOW speed until the bus stop at tangs. There, a cab cut into the bus lane & scratched the bus. A conflict ensued for about 10+mins while everyone on the bus was becoming increasing impatient & irritated. I was going into panic mode, because i dont want to be late on my first day/first class. The clock was ticking furiously at 8.20am & i was like rahhhhh!!! Finally, we reached the SMU bustop at 8.28am & i rushed to class.

Good- I saw many familiar faces in my econs class. YAY. I have Kexin, Kelvin, Sheena, Din, Wan Li & a few others with me. Great. After which, i met my biz law khakis & we had lunch.

Bad- Elvin flew into a rage & it was scary... I rushed to my hairdresser's place but i still very late, thanks to the POKKAI driver who drove at 30km/h. So he was bitching about him very sleepy, cause he got tired of waiting for me. Haha

Good- He didnt scold me for not putting hair conditioner, because I did. (At least, for the past few days.) He permed my hair against my will, but it was hilarious because of the ah beng & louis. They were arguing about the style & whether it will work. Haha. They were the highlight of my day i think.

Good- I met my darling IVY, evil twin. We were having our own talk show at the turkish place at far east plaza. In fact, it continued all the way to lucky plaza. She was the other highlight of my day, cause we laughed so much.

Bad- Plans got screwed up bad. like B-A-D. So after all that talking & planning & convincing myself that, okay just go, just this once. I was stranded in town with the rain. Worst case scenerio man. So the rain & all pissed me off and i just decided to head home.

Good- My friends just tolerated all the rantings, bitchings & sulking when i was complaining to them. Sorry for being such a pesky, whiny bitch today. Thanks for the patience. Haha. I could even handle my girlfriend who was feeling even lousier than i was.

Conclusion- THANK YOU.
Thanks to my stats classmates for keeping me awake.
Thanks to my bizlaw mates who made lunchtime more enjoyable.
Thanks to Louis(my hairdresser) & his ah beng assistant who put in SO Much effort into my curls. (which is extinct already)
Special thanks to Louis who made me feel like his long-lost little sister.
Thanks to IVY Tan lay hui who gave me free ab exercises. Hurhur.
Thanks to Justin, Mervyn, Richard for showing such patience, understanding and tolerance for my bitchiness, crabbiness, sulkiness & whinings.
Thanks to Nicole who made me feel like my day wasnt that bad after all. (Haha, just kidding.)
Thanks to everyone who makes living my life worthwhile. Good night, world.

Sister Alionushka & Brother Ivanushka

After my morning jog at the park, I saw a few happy families having a combined picnic of some sort, in the cooling shade under the trees. It was almost like a typical english countryside scene- a clear blue sky, plenty of sun shine, with happy children playing near a pretty stream. So, amongst the thrills & shrills of young children and their kanjiong parents, I saw a pair of brothers at the stream. The older one(prolly about 4/5) easily crossed the stream (it was barely 15cm wide), while the younger one (prolly 2/3) looked hesistant. He dipped the first foot in, and started to cry. He continued to brawl, reaching his right hand out to his brother. He stop crying, sniffled abit and stared at his brother. His brother just stayed quiet and merely looked at him. The little boy's lip started to tremble and he continued his crying. I was surprised that these two kids were being ignored by the adults, but anyway... The toddler continued to cry & cry & cry & his brother still remained motionless, which left me wondering... Why not? Even if i wanted my lil bro to "be a man, do the right thing", seeing him brawl his eyes out will just make me pull him over anyway, even if he just needed to walk through the water without any danger. Honestly, I have no idea whether the toddler crossed the stream or whether the brother helped him across. Since I have overstayed my welcome, if i dwell there any longer, someone will label me a paedophile, so i continued on my way home.

This reminds me of my younger bro & I when we were kids. I was happily sucking on ice during one of the HOT months. Next, I thought i'll be nice to my lil bro too, since the relief from the ice was so blissful. I took an ice cube from the icebox and gave it him. Then, that smart-ass CHOKED on it. My mom rushed over to pat him frantically on the back, instructing him to cough it out blah blah blah, my younger bro was in a state of hysteria & i was panicking but i could only watch on helplessly. It never occurred to me that one can choke on ice. So, when peace was finally restored, I got an earful from my mom... Brothers!!!

I was out at VIVOcity today with my salsa-mates. Btw, its really, really crowded! After everyone arrived fashionably late, we had Dunch and then became Tracy's personal shopping assistants. haha. So the main point was that, T(26+) and her lil bro(17+) are really close, despite the age gap. I happened to notice them holding hands when they were walking to the carpark. My brothers & I would never do that, because i guess displaying affection isnt in my family culture. The last time i saw T & her bro together at Lao Pa Sat, having supper, her bro will prepare cockles for her, even when she was being difficult. CAN U SEE FLASHING GREEN LIGHTS? THEY'RE MY EYES. Gosh, i am so envious. I COVET their relationship. In my case, (unfortunately) I'm resigned to the one providing for my younger bro. In contrast to the above example, I help prepare his meals. In fact, he popped into my room at 12+am yesterday, asking," Is there anything to eat? " Then, instinctively, like a mother hen, i went down the kitchen to forage for food & fixed something for him. Oh well... Brothers!!!

Another random food for thought: Guess what I saw in my newest neighbour's house interiors through the master bedroom windows? A HUGE crystal chandelier. I was wondering about the irony of this. The people (Bangladeshi & other foreign workers) have to build opulent houses for the wealthy people here, while they live in long-term hardships, dreaming to build similar houses for themselves & their families back home at the same time.

Dontcha wish your gf was Hot like me?

Who needs champagne at J Bar on a happening NYE night? When you can shop like a maniac on New Year's Day! I've added a new satiny/flowy skirt, a cute (casual) denim skirt, a cool-looking bustier and a funky dress to my wardrobe! So everything except my denim skirt will go under "CNY shopping". My productive 1 Jan was spent with hua & ivy(who was LATE as usual).

It was an extravagant day for us because, even after all that (kah-ching) retail therapy, we had gastro-therapy. Dinner at Bakerzin, the one with to-die-for tapa desserts. Then, we had nice proper dinner-food & a slice of cake each to end the day off nicely. Who says you cant have your cake & eat it? I chose a piece tiramisu cake because i have been craving for it since late November. Then, i ate it. Haha.

Sorry, no photos, as I'm too lazy to charge my camera's battery. At the same time, i was too caught up shopping. No free hands to snap any pictures. Haha. Plus, we were too frazzled by dinner time, so I cant share the pictures of our dinner with you.

Anyway, recently i heard that my friends' impression of me is that i'm high-maintence & i have high standards for guys. Firstly, they think that my stuff are branded and on the high-end side; that my lifestyle is tai-tai-ish. I wish man. Haha, ive got everyone fooled. I mean, Hua n I just shopped at Chinatown and found so many great bargains for 10bucks & below. I'll take it as a compliment- its how we wear our clothes then.

Secondly, about guys. Do i really have such stringent standards? I dont think so, because i dont even have that many "requirements". Since i heard the Pussy Cat Dolls' list of ideal characteristics. Let me list some qualities which i find attractive too. Here goes:

1. Charisma (who can resist this one?)
2. Wicked sense of humour (DAMN ATTRACTIVE)
3. A compatible level of intelligence (to converse comfortably with)
4. Confidence (insecurity doesnt do anyone any good)

10. Understands & trusts me
11. Supportive
12. Gentlemanly [BONUS trait]

List of "turn-off" qualities are as follows.

3. Perpetually depressed
4. Stingy like scrooge
5. Petty
6. Clingy
