Cass Lost Her First Tooth!
She was at school today and pulled it out! Her teacher gave her one of those great little teeth treasure boxes to bring it home in. We're excited for the Tooth Fairy to come tonight!

Growing up too fast.
Luke has been a crack up lately. His latest thing is his fear of bugs. He thinks EVERYTHING is a bug; wood chips, balls of hair, lint, etc. (I'm CONSTANTLY sweeping, since he just points and cries whenever he "spots" anything!) Yesterday he saw Warren swatting a fly with his slipper, so a few minutes later we saw Luke swatting a stray watermelon seed under the kitchen table. He even had Warren pick it up with a napkin and dispose of it when he was finished. We all got a good laugh! :)

Goose Eggs and Job Charts
I thought if we just stayed home for a day we would get by without any injuries. Apparently we are labed accident prone at this point and should just give up! Cade was running around like a maniac yesterday morning and slipped on the wood floor and hit his head. He ended up with a huge goose egg on his forehead! So, I decided it's time for some kind of direction around here. I had some job charts planned to start when school got out- but ended up getting them out yesterday since we were stuck at home with injuries and needed something to do. The kids LOVED them. I made copies of Monopoly money and they get money for each job they do. The idea is they save up their money for prizes, tv time, etc. I don't have the rewards all figured out yet- but so far putting a magnet on the fridge poster and a dollar in the jar when they finish is exciting enough! If you have any ideas for rewards- please share them!!

Butterfly report
Cassidy has been working hard the past couple weeks on her butterfly presentation. She had to write a written report, give an oral presentation and have a prop of some type. She recycled Mom's Mother's day flowers and put them in a shoe box with cut outs of butterlies in the background (eating the nectar). Cass did a great job. She loves butterflies and baby chicks right now. Her class had an incubator in their classroom and the chicks hatched last week! She talked about them everyday. Friday they had to go to live on the farm, though- it was tears for hours poor thing!

Warren's accident
Thank you very much for all the prayers that came our way- once again- for Warren's car accident today. He is fine- but will be extremely sore for the next couple days- we are very glad he is okay. He was rear ended at a stoplight. He was stationary and the girl hit him going 40 mph from behind. We're lucky he wasn't hurt more. He was on his way to the pharmacy to get some antibiotics for me- I've been laid up with a sinus infection. So it has been quite the day. Thanks Jared and Steph again for taking the kids on last minutes notice! It all happened across the street from a fire station- just a few blocks from our house. A nurse and policeman were witnesses and helped him out of the car and the firemen were there really quickly. We think he lost consciousness for awhile and definitely had some temporary amnesia. He still doesn't remember exactly what happened. He somehow remembered my cell phone number so we went right over there. The firefighters took his vitals and said he needed to be taken by ambulance. His blood pressure was really low and they were worried about internal bleeding. So off he went and I dropped the kids and was there shortly after he arrived. They got his blood pressure back to normal and ruled out the internal bleeding. Then they took him for x-rays and catscans and everything came up negative. We are very grateful. He's got some serious whiplash and is in a lot of pain. He says his brain feels bruised from all the rattling. But we are all home now, with kids in bed. So, thanks for all your calls and concern! We don't have a lot of hope for the car- it looks totaled at this point- but we're not sure until the mechanics looks at it. Thank goodness for insurance!

Counting our blessings
The trip to the ped ortho surgeon was a breath of fresh air! Cade is doing great. No surgery needed, no damage to growth plates, etc. His bone was definitely broken- the doc said it basically folded in half and then pushed the elbow joint out of whack. Cade had his 4th x-ray taken of his arm today, and amazingly it's nearly healed. I attribute that to the priesthood blessing he received last night, along with all of your prayers. Thank you so much! The doc was pretty surprised at the progress in just 5 days. He is going to continue with the temporary cast for only 2 more weeks. We even have permission to take it off during bath time every night! YEAH!! The doc said the cast is more precautionary at this point than anything and he should be back to normal with no long term affects. We are very grateful and feel very watched over at this time.

Another Utah Visit
I'm going to be coming to SLC June 6-7 for an old BYU BFF's wedding. It's going to be a quick trip- but I'd like to see as many of you as I can! Let me know if you have any open slots on Friday! The wedding is Saturday- so I'll probably be doing that most of the day. Warren is being a champ and staying home with the kids. I'm really excited to have the chance to get away from all the stress for a day or so!

More Doctor's Visits
We went to the Orthopedic surgeon today and he's concerned Cade has crushed his bone and possibly done some damage to his growth plate. So, we are off the the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon tomorrow morning. Cade is being such a trooper and has already picked out a glow in the dark cast color- if needs be..... Please keep him in your prayers! We really hope it doesn't have to be operated on.

Broken, or Not Broken- that is the question
Playgroup this week was held at Chick-Fil-A (like KFC) since they have an indoor playplace and we are rained out of the park. Cade was doing some illegal climbing on the outside of the playstructure (when Mom was making sure Luke wasn't slamming his fingers in the door) when he fell on his arm. Two x-rays later, we're still not sure what is going on. The doc first thought it was dislocated, but none of the relocating maneuvers were working. We went back today and the doc thinks the bone maybe cracked but the swelling is so severe we can't see it at this point. So, he has on a temporary cast for the weekend and sees the Orthopedic (sp?) Surgeon on Monday morning. He's been a real trooper- and has an amazing tolerance for pain. The hardest thing is keeping this arm STILL! It keeps coming out of the sling and Cade won't hold still for anything. Anyone have a straight jacket?

Soggy Diaper
Luke was protesting a much needed diaper change this week. I guess he thought if he couldn't see me, I couldn't see him. He ran into the piano room and plastered his face against the wall- then when that didn't work he proceeded to shoot me with a water gun! Luckily it wasn't loaded...

A car in the garage!!
What a great day! The boys and I worked up a sweat in the garage this morning. I couldn't take changing my clothes everytime I got the kids in and out of the car (from all our rain)! Now I can comfortably get everyone in the car and we can stay dry! :)

I guess it's naptime!
Cade and Luke were playing with Cade's "transformers"- (pieces of paper scraps he cuts up and names- they don't have to be the real ones like "Bumblebee" or "Optimus Prime" they can be things like "Big Head" and "Hairy Guy") and it looks like Luke had just had enough. One second he was playing, the next I looked over and he was knocked out on lamby! I love it how kids can fall asleep instantly like this! :)

The Happiest Mother's Day
We were spoiled to have Heidi come to see us for Mother's Day weekend. Unfortunately Luke was sick the whole time. 104 fever and throwing up. I think the best present was when he woke up completely fine on Mother's day morning. Warren sent me some beautiful roses and made me omelets for breakfast. Cassidy made quesadillas for lunch- so I had the royal treatment!
We did escape to the park for a little while despite the sickness. It was good to get Luke out of the house.
Working on Tee-ball.
I'm not sure who has more fun at the park- the kids or Warren. :)

Daddy's computer
Cade begs all week to play Scooby Doo games on Daddy's computer. Which really means Warren gets on the Scooby Doo website and plays the games with Cassidy while Cade watches. We haven't been able to see Warren much- but we are so glad to have him on the weekends! Today he's off to New Mexico for a week- he just inherited the state to his list of duties. Now he has Texas AND New Mexico. His rep there just quit- so he's got quite the week ahead of him there. We will be missing him! We are looking forward to Friday when he comes home and we also get the treat of Aunt Heidi flying in from New York City! YEAH!!!!!

Ward Party
We're trying to get more involved here- so we made it out to our Ward Party at the church. Luke definitely enjoyed the desserts! :)

My own personal chef
After church today Warren said we should just have quesadillas for lunch to eat something easy and quick. I was definitely okay with this suggestion. So, we proceeded to change and took a quick break laying on our bed when I heard dishes clanging. I thought,"Oh, how nice- Cassidy must have had a primary lesson on helping at home and is emptying the dishwasher!" About 10 minutes later I came out and she had the cheese grater in hand and was grating away! She'd already grated cheese for 4 tortillas and had them all out on their own plates ready to heat up. She was so cute! I wish I would have got a picture of her in action! How nice to be served lunch when Mother's day isn't for another week! She told us during lunch, "Mom, I had a hard day yesterday (quite a bit of trouble!), so I decided to do something nice today!" I love this!!

Luke's favorite hiding spot
I find Luke in the cupboard about 10 times a day. I decided not to put anything in there, just so he can continue to play. Whenever we are looking for anything Cassidy always suggests, "I know where it is! Luke put it in the cupboard!!" He loves to hang out in there with his carebears, lamby and his blankets.
