Kisses

Jake is the cutest kisser. This is his best trick. For about a month now he's been "giving kisses". That means when we say, "Jake, give Daddy (or who ever else) kisses" he proceeds to lick Warren's (or who ever else's) face. This is the best shot we could get- he was too interested in the camera. So sweet. I don't remember my other kids being able to do this as young.

Garden starts

Here is the beginning of our garden this year. We had a family planting party. Which means Warren mixes the dirt/compost, etc; Cassidy squeals over how gross manure is and then wants me to do a photo shoot of her on the slides; Cade loves the "cow poop" and gets his hands all in it; Luke scoops dirt all over the fence; Yoda runs away under the fence- to come back quickly (luckily); and I try to deal with a fussy baby in the house. We're starting out with our starts in pots: broccoli, cabbage and lettuce- yum!!

Barnyard "Moosical" Spectacular

Cute little cleaning pig!

Uh, oh. She had to go to the bathroom from the start of the performance....

Cade loves the pig costume.
The 2nd grade classes at Cassidy's school put on a Barnyard "Moosical" Spectaculor this week. Cass has been raving about it for weeks. She did a great job. We had to make the costume. I think it turned out pretty cute, except for the snout was so big it covered her mouth when she was singing- oops!!

Food Storage Planning

If you're like me and get overwhelmed with the recommendation of a year supply of food- here is some information that may help. This is a great system a lady used on BYU TV this week. She got 3x5 cards and wrote 7 dinners and 7 breakfasts on them with the ingredients. Multiplies her ingredients by 52 weeks, makes a master list and whammo- there is what food you need to buy. This way you can look for things on sale and store the food you eat and love and know how to cook.

Cade comments

After nursing the baby, Cade was interested in what Jake was eating. "So, he had some milk and then he fell asleep? So, one of those is milk and the other one is water?" Hmmmm..... :)

We've been trying to have better manners- in a house full of boys we have some interesting moments. Cade had gas without saying excuse me, so I went on to say, "What do we say Cade?" He replies, "HOORAY!" Oh, brother....

Spaghetti and MEATBALLS

I can't believe we are already at the point where a pound of hamburger only lasts one meal. These boys are carnivors. Cade was going crazy on the meatballs, so we had to tell him he had to finish his spaghetti and salad before he could have more. He got really worried when one by one the meatballs were going fast- so he got one and put it on his napkin for safe keeping. I even caught him stroking it when he thought I wasn't looking, while he was choking down noodles. He is such a crack up. As you can see, he wasn't the only one who enjoyed them. Yoda had his dream come true through Luke. I think Luke had more fun feeding them to someone else rather that eating them himself.

Munching on frozen corn

I know our children are unique, but when Cassidy asked me for a snack to take outside and I recommened a PB&J sandwich I was surprised when she asked if she could have some frozen corn in a bowl instead. Fine by me!

A napper again

Luke went through a non napping period. I was so sad about it! But the past couple weeks he's been back at it. We just have to trick him into napping. Here he knocked out on the couch watching "Dirty Jobs" with Warren. (One of our family favorites- Cade LOVES it!) Sorry the pic is upside down- I don't know how to rotate it.

Pretty hair for school
Fun kids.

OUCH!!

Warren dropped a large fire extinguisher on his toe this week at work. YIKES!!! Cade is the most sympathetic of the kids- look at his face! He's so concerned. First thing when Warren got home from work, Cade demanded to check out the toe and take a look at the bloody sock. (The toe looks much worse in person- OUCH!)

Square Foot Gardening

Our old garden in California....

We've always had a large garden in California. We are wanting to do something here, but are much more limited on space. We stumbled on a show on BYU TV called "Homegrown" where they talked about square foot gardening. I can't wait to try it out! Follow the link to learn more if you're interested. It's supposed to cut way back on your weeds and let you grow more in a smaller space. It looks beautiful as well.
